About this company

"My wife and I started this company back in 2014 because as homeowners here in the Tampa Bay area for almost 30 years, we have always struggled finding contractors we felt we could trust to do the right thing. Well, after a dozen years doing it ourselves, it's way harder than we thought it would be and we still stand behind this idea: We can't promise we won't make mistakes or that the things we do won't have problems, but we do promise we won't stop until you have had an extraordinary experience."

We've been using The Comfort Authority since we moved to Florida 4 years ago and really enjoy working with them. They are honest, fair, and make every effort to help assess what's best for the HVAC unit. Today we had our annual maintenance and our tech Tison was amazing! I really liked his approach, he explained things to me in a way that made sense and was really thorough in servicing our unit.

This company was first rate. My system went down over a weekend. I contacted them Monday and got a quote. Derek sat down with me and went over all the details. He represented it perfectly and we had the system installed by Tuesday. The work was done incredibly well and efficient by Gary Clark and his team. They made sure not to rush and did not leave until everything was executed in the correct manner. The home inspector today verified the work and everything is working to an optimum level. I could not recommend this company more for the professionalism and quality of workmanship. Gary was fantastic and explained everything at the very end and made sure the system was working at a top level before he left the house. Thank you so much Comfort Authority...I will be sharing with my friends and family.

***Update - Called and spoke to Josh, and cancelled Comfort Plan after discussing my concerns.*** I’ve been a Comfort Plan member for years (since 2022), and I want to be fair: Comfort Authority has excellent customer service during normal business hours. Unfortunately, my recent experiences after hours have been extremely disappointing. The company advertises itself as 24/7, but in my experience, that isn’t what “24/7” actually means. After hours, you’re essentially connected to an AI assistant that takes a message. On two separate occasions when I needed service outside of normal business hours, I did not receive a response until the company reopened. On one occasion, I waited more than 24 hours for a return call. That is not what I consider 24/7 service. I also haven’t found the Comfort Plan to provide enough tangible benefits to justify its cost. The monthly fee adds up to roughly twice what other local AC companies charge for annual maintenance, yet when I actually needed service after hours, I still had to find another company. Most recently, I had to call a different local AC company that actually provides 24/7 service to repair my AC unit while Comfort Authority was closed. That experience really highlighted the difference between advertised availability and actual after-hours service. I will be canceling my Comfort Plan once Comfort Authority reopens and returns my call. Again, I want to emphasize that the staff and customer service I’ve received during regular business hours have been great. My issue is specifically with the 24/7 service claim, the lack of meaningful after-hours support, and the overall value of the Comfort Plan. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously, because being a long-term customer should mean something when you need help outside of regular business hours.

Luis did an awesome job coming out to diagnose the recurring issue we had with our brand new system that was not even installed by them, may I add. He was thorough, kind, personable and informative. He even got me to sign up for the monthly comfort plan. Will be using them again and requesting Luis moving forward. Overall this companies response timing is on point.
