"I contacted DFW Improved after my house was flooded in February 2021. I had them do the damage repair as well as updated my kitchen. My first contact was with Jaime. Jaime is an easy-going, affable, intelligent person who is very good at his job. He showed up at a difficult time for me and he was reassuring in the quality of work that would be supplied as well as being realistic with me regarding the time frame of said work. He was easy to work with after the contract was signed and the process started. Change orders were easy and fair, Jaime did not nickel and dime me! The reconstruction meeting took place at the time Jaime stated it would and the process started two weeks later as they stated it would. A week after the meeting I had a schedule in my hand for the 6 weeks of work that was to be done. My project manager was Blake, he’s a smart, take charge individual that was on top of the job on a daily basis. He always kept me informed of the daily activities. Blake said something to me during this process that really resonated with me, “James, we want to make you happy”. I thought wow, I’ve never had a contractor actually say this to me but also back it up in actions. Blake and DFW Improved went above and beyond for me and made it as easy as possible during this difficult time in our lives. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them!"

Keeping us informed of changes to the schedule, following up on each work team's progress, and keeping the entire home as clean as possible was awesome! The project manager, Shane, kept me informed during the entire process. Helping me manage my work time with contractors' time. All the different teams that completed work were very very detailed and cleaned their areas before they left for the day. The teams also communicated with me about any changes that they would recommend based on their experience and my home's current layout or paint color. "We decided to use DFW Improved based on a high referral. Communication leading up to project demo was excellent! Sales rep was prompt to respond to all inquiries and requests. Unfortunately, that was not the case once project began. There was not a clear timeline throughout the entire project. Delays were not communicated in a timely manner. We had to pay a large fee for an equipment rental which should have been calculated or anticipated with initial proposal when all dimensions were measured and agreed upon. It should not have been an unexpected problem. We were not consulted on preference of materials or placements until the day of or if at all (ex. decisions that were not discussed during our design center visit). Things do get corrected to our preference as we point them out, but overall we felt that the process was slow and not smooth with too much follow up on our part."

"Just, overall, it was a great experience, from beginning to end. We had fairly good communication. The project manager Todd was fantastic. He kept us apprised once the construction began for that week. I would say, as well, the quality of work was great, from the subcontractors completing the work to the materials and the lumbar. Again, overall, it was a good experience."

"I really had a great experience with them overall, especially with our project manager, Todd. He did a great job of making sure we had someone here every day working on something to keep the project moving forward. The project was completed in two weeks, which was really impressive. The quality of the work is really good too. We love the kitchen. The only issue we had was with the design team. They weren't very good. It was okay because my wife already knew what she wanted. They weren't approachable, friendly, accommodating, or helpful in any way. Whenever I recommend DFW Improved to a friend, I always tell them they probably won't be impressed with the design team."

"There are two major things. The project was not at all on time. It was estimated to be about five to seven weeks long. I don't know how many months it was that it kept going on. They started in June 2020, and, pushing hard, they finished Christmas Day. It was seven months instead of seven weeks. For that reason, I would not recommend them, because if they cannot keep the timeline, it's an issue. If I sign a contract, even if it's their contract, I want a clause that says that if they don't deliver in a certain amount of time, they will have to pay some kind of penalty. The other thing is that they put in the contract that we were eligible for platinum grade pricing of materials from their store, like countertops, but we didn't get any amount to use from that. They did an upsell for that, but the platinum didn't mean anything. I'd want to warn other customers. I'd assume that platinum level countertops are covered then--that, if you want extra, you don't have to pay higher than that, but that was not true. The platinum didn't cover the most basic level of countertops. We selected a group of the most common countertops, but still paid $2000 extra. The platinum is a trick in the contract, which is something we learned."
