I would like to give Plum Exterior a 3.5-star rating. I’m adding a half-star specifically because their payment system is excellent; they accept credit cards, which allowed me to earn points on a major home improvement project—a rare and appreciated convenience in this industry. Here is a detailed breakdown of my experience: The Positives: Work Ethic and Craftsmanship First, I want to highlight the installation crew. They were truly amazing—detail-oriented, hardworking, and highly skilled in carpentry. They arrived before 7:00 AM and worked straight through until 7:00 PM. Their daily cleanup was impeccable, leaving me with absolutely nothing to complain about regarding the job site. The Negatives: Communication and Scheduling The issues began with the estimation and project management phase. During the estimate in late December, I explicitly told Alan that we needed to start in late March due to several planned trips and a desire to avoid construction during a harsh winter. Despite this, I received a call in late January from a guy called Dave stating that materials had arrived early and they wanted to start immediately. I had to push back firmly to maintain our March start date. Had I not done so, the project would have been a disaster, as I needed to be home to catch significant aesthetic issues. Details below. Aesthetic Misunderstandings We wanted to replace our original wood shingles with James Hardie (JH) shingle siding to mimic the existing style. While we discussed woven outside corners, the inside corners were never addressed during the estimate. I assumed they would match the original wood look, but instead, the crew installed bulky PVC trim. The biggest issue was at the bay window, where they used two pieces of PVC trim to create a "V-shape" at the inside corners(see pictures). I have never seen this on a house before; it completely destroyed the home's aesthetics. Because I was home (and leaving for an international trip three days later), I caught this in time. While the project manager, Taylor, was helpful in brainstorming solutions, none of the options perfectly replicated the wood look. I eventually proposed using flat PVC panels for the bay window area. Word of caution: If you are trying to mimic traditional wood shingles with James Hardie, be very specific about corner transitions. Pricing and Change Orders I was disappointed with the final costs regarding two specific change orders that happened right before my trip: Bay Window: We were charged an additional $3,000 for the flat PVC panel materials. Considering the labor for siding was already in the original quote(they also charged additional price for woven corner but they didn't refund that part after we changed design), this felt extremely high—especially since they did not even replace the actual window trims which i thought they would(they damaged one trim, picture as below), only the panels. Eventually the final result look so weird an ugly. For comparison, they charged $363 for a different window trim replacement elsewhere. Since the siding was a special order and the design changed, we incurred additional costs from the over-purchase of JH shingle materials. Porch and Wood Rot: I was charged $2,600 to repair rotten wood beneath a window and for two porch corners. While they fixed it and but also replaced the trim with new PVC for the screen openings and window which I wasn't told and I didn't ask for. As a homeowner I would have preferred spending that money on replacing other window trims instead of the screen opening trims on porch. They should be clear about what they are doing instead of creating works by just giving me a number and a vague work description. Furthermore, I asked for photos of the wood rot repair as it was being fixed, but I never received them. Also Alan quoted me $12,000 by using Sherwin-Williams Duration paint for painting which includes house trim, window trim, window frame, gutters, a garage and a shed.

The project was extremely well executed. The Sales Manager was excellent and communicated daily with us about the project and made sure even with a few mishaps which were corrected to our satisfaction. Overall the Crew and the Project Managers were very professional and on time everyday as the weather permitted. We had a total roof replacement and our porch replaced. Could not be more happy with the results. We would highly recommend Plum Pro Exterior and without hesitation work with them again. We now have the best looking house house on the block. Look no further these are your guys!

I recently hired Plum to do some siding and trim work on my home. Once done, the work looked really great, and I'm very happy with the choices we made. Through the work, Vadim and Diogo were very patient and helpful answering all my questions and concerns. There were a number of instances in the process, however, where there was a lack of communication or transparency that created some stress on our end in having to chase for answers and clarifications. The contract process could have been a bit smoother and detailed as well. I appreciated the work that was ultimately done, and hope in the future some of the additional stressors can be smoothed out to make the overall process 5 stars.

I am very happy with the exterior work we had completed at our house in Arlington. To start Yuk and his team are extremely communicative and hard working. When I got my estimates I compared companies and to help me decide Yuk brought over his mobile showroom to give me ideas about window trims and various materials. As a homeowner that helps a great deal especially when you can see them up close. We decided to do our 1928 Tudor style home over with James Hardie 7 inch exposure shakes to get them as close to original as possible. The original cedar shakes were showing wear and had alligator patterns from the previous owner continuing to paint again and again. The process for our house took extra long with all the detail work that went into specifically the front but Yuk listened when I said I wanted it recreated and not modernized. They came in with a very competitive pricing and now after working with them I would have gotten even my windows from them had I known they do windows as well. His team works extremely long hours in the spring and summer and unlike many clean up after themselves. Really nice guys and with any issues they listened and fixed whatever I needed. We had an accident at the house after install and Yuk was responsive to send his guy over 8 am on a Saturday to make a quick fix for me. And that's why these guys are better than the rest. In the future the only thing I would change is prepare for the noise that comes with removing all the exterior before install and also take things like frames off the walls when doing this work but other than that I was happy with our finished result. We also used his friend Tom from Elite Gutters to do copper gutters and overall we get neighbors stopping regularly complimenting our house. Very high quality work and hard working team would hire them again.

I met with Yuk about 3 years ago and I knew right away I wanted his team to work on my exterior project in Milton. Yuk and the team demo'd all existing siding and fixed any areas that had rot, re wrapped the house, did all new james hardie board siding, pvc trim, built a portico, replaced doors and windows. He and his team came highly recommended and it was clear why. He answered all of my questions, was very up front with pricing and his proposals. The contract laid everything out crystal clear and any change orders or out of scope work was agreed to before any work was done. The craftsmanship is incredible and any contractor that comes to my house makes note of how good it looks. The team communicated well and Yuk and the team lead were always available to talk to me and work through any issues or changes that we wanted to make. The crew was very clean, respectful and professional. Thanks to Yuk and Plum Pro for making our exterior dreams come true
