TEC, The Exterior Company, Review July 2026 We are from the Vandergrift/Leechburg area, and after a severe hailstorm, several homes in our neighborhood had sustained some form of damage to their roofs. We contacted an unnamed roof contractor who inspected our house roof and garage roof and within 15 minutes determined that we did not have hail damage. Several months later, we had a leak in our roof, so decided to ask another contractor who was referred to us. That company is TEC, who we will now refer to others. Cara, Haley, and Johann, our Project Managing Team from TEC, are a family trio. They are hard- working, down-to-earth, trustworthy people who not only care about their customer’s satisfaction, but their customers as well. The day of our scheduled roof inspection, Johann and Cara climbed into our hot and cluttered attic and discovered where the leak had originated. From there, Johann spent over an hour inspecting, photographing, and documenting damage on the house and garage roofs for insurance purposes. Cara explained more about filing a claim with our insurance and how TEC could help. Cara also stated that the crews/workers they assign to jobs are held to a higher standard. We contacted our insurance company to file a claim. Haley provided the proof of the damage that had occurred from the hailstorm that we had experienced several months prior. A few weeks later when the insurance adjustor was on site, Johann was as well. Together they inspected the damage that Johann had found. As expected, the adjustor immediately determined there was, in fact, hail damage to both roofs, along with some flashing around the windows. Thank you, Johann, and TEC. We hired TEC not only to replace both roofs, but in addition, to replace flashing around the windows, door, and to install gutters and downspouts. Most of the cost was covered by our insurance, but the additional work was reasonable and comparable to other exterior companies. The roofing crew was prompt, hard-working, conscientious and highly skilled in their trade. They also were courteous as well as respectful to us and our property. Aside from finding some stray nails afterwards, a thorough clean-up was done each evening before their day ended. Johann, Haley, and Cara alternately were on site while the work was being done. They each offered their support and provided insight in their area of expertise, before, during, and after the work was complete. Each took pride in their work, and in TEC. Realizing this is a long, detailed, review, I will end with saying that we strongly recommend TEC for any of your roofing needs.

My roof and gutters were damaged by a hail storm and TEC was the contractor that did the repairs. There were 3 phases to the project. The first phase was the inspection and filing an insurance claim. Jared did the inspection for TEC and helped to file the insurance claim. The adjuster for the insurance company found little damage and offered little money for repairs. We asked for a re-inspection and Jared met with the adjuster on my roof and convinced the adjuster to pay for a total replacement. Jared is very bright and easy to work with. He gets 5 stars The second phase is the actual roofing job. I learned that the crew that worked on my roof are not TEC employees but actually subcontractors. I felt that this crew did a poor job and there was no one from TEC on site supervising them. They took no care at all to protect the property. I attached photos showing the mess they made And how careless they were with handling the bundles of shingles. They were in an extreme hurry to complete the job in one day. Every thing they did was rushed. I question whether they actually met the required nail pattern. They worked from 7:30am until 8:30pm. The last hour was done in the dark by flashlight. Not very good for quality. There were some issues with the shingles that were repaired the next day. I pointed out these issues with a representative from TEC who agreed with me but made no adjustments to the crew. The same crew did my neighbors house a couple of days later with no changes and no improvement. I even called the main office and expressed my concerns and I got no response. I feel the actual work is one star. The third phase was replacing the gutters and downspouts. This was also done by a subcontractor and they did a good job. I give them 5 stars

My new metal roof experience could not have gone any smoother. Got me on the schedule very fast and had my new metal roof installed in no time. John Conway and his crew are great at what they do and can’t thank them enough! ( Black textured )

TEC has been an incredible asset to me as a business owner, and I can’t express my gratitude enough for their assistance with multiple of my own roof projects. Dan did a great job with the inspection and explaining pricing and our options. Hector and his team were respectful and thorough. These guys worked over 22 hours to make sure everything was perfect. John monitored everything and ran and got supplies while keeping us loop on everything. We couldn't be more happier of our results. Thank you TEC Pittsburgh. You guys did an amazing job and we will recommend you to everyone we know.
