We had 2 of our bathrooms renovated a little over a year ago. We worked with Jay who would check in nearly daily and he has the work done by different crews that are contracted out. After using and observing our bathrooms over the last year and a half post renovation, I believe the job could've been done better and with more precision. The good: The timeline of the work seemed to be on schedule, maybe even felt rushed at some point... Although not cheap, I feel like the renovation was pretty fairly priced. Needs improvement: We had these beautiful 4 slabs of quartz placed into the shower for our shower walls. expensive material, and paid extra to have them installed. The whole bathroom and shower were nearly finished when I notice a crack in one of the slabs as I was using the toilet (the other bathroom wasn't finished yet) -- the shower was unused. I asked Jay about the problem and he was very quick to blame the glass door installers. I asked the best way to fix the issue as I didn't want water damage seeping through over time. He insisted that I reach out to ABC Glass and have them pay to replace the slab because we wouldn't want water damage to happen. I reached out to ABC glass, basically blaming them and it wasn't them at all after a closer look at the crack itself! After continuous back and forth with Jay insisting that it was ABC Glass who installed our beautiful custom shower doors, I took a closer look to realize that the crack had grout over it/in it, meaning that the crack was there prior to the doors going up. I didn't believe that it was trying to be covered up, merely, it had been there prior to the glass doors going up. I asked Jay to cover the cost to replace the slab, but then had changed his mind to say that sealing the crack would be fine. I said I wanted it replaced and how could his mind be changed all of a sudden now that it was Jay's/contractors fault. Finally, Jay/ his contracting team agreed to cover the cost to replace the slab with a new one. To replace the slab, the already installed glass doors had to be moved. ABC Glass did an amazing job putting them up, just to be taken down by the team working on my home, and then put back up so poorly. They used the cheap sealant that turns yellow over time, it was clumpy/ bumpy, leaks water under the doors, and is now growing mold/ peeling off. Also the doors were put back up crooked and don't close all the way so some water leaks out of the sliding shower door. Other shower issues: grout in the flooring is uneven/ spacing between tiles is uneven, I had to ask them to put sealant around the fixtures in the shower (and still they only sealed the water temp handle and not the other handles). I'm not sure if that's standard to not seal around the fixtures to ensure no water leaking behind the slabs?? Other bathroom issues: lots of hole punch/ bumps in the drywall, the contractors broke the window crank (which matched all the other ones in the house and now they don't sell that style anymore ugh!) and I had to ask multiple times for it to be fixed/ replaced. They replaced it with the cheapest thing they could find. The air vent that was put in there was broken (missing the lever to push air up, down, or close the vent). The hall bath was done pretty well. my only complaint is that the bathroom mirror/ medicine cabinet was supposed to be mounted into the wall. The contractor told me it wasn't possible to do that without even looking behind the wall so it's mounted on the outside of the wall and looks just okay. the tile work in the hall bath looks very nice. An okay experience, not the best. An okay outcome. Could be better Photos: broken folding window crank that had been replaced, defective air vent without adjustment lever, glass door sealant installed by ABC glass vs the replacement sealant, finished bathrooms x2

We used Monova Homes for our kitchen remodel and basement couldn't be happier. Pricing was very reasonable and the work was great. The guys were easy to work with, kept everything neat and clean, and we love how the kitchen turned out! The whole process went smoothly from start to finish. Anytime something unexpected came up, they'd let us know right away, tell us our options, and take care of it. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for remodeling work!

Pleased to find this contractor, Jay Wee. He came by everyday to check on things, progress, answer any questions. The crew he used for my total bathroom renovation, lead by Eric Montufar, were very good. Eric was all about solving any problem, finding a way to make what I wanted work. The results are lovely, timing was quicker than he estimated. Costly, but exactly what he estimated and well worth it!

MONOVA Homes Rating: Solid Five Stars Short Version: Reasonably priced—best of three estimates—and properly licensed, bonded and insured / Work on my three-bathroom remodel began quickly after my contract was signed (September 28, 2018) / The foreman and crew worked quickly, politely, professionally, and intelligently on my job / Three bathrooms were finished on time (October 23, 2018) and on budget ($13,800 labor and materials) / the final result was nothing less than stunning / I would hire MONOVA Homes again, and I would enthusiastically recommend them to a friend or family member—or anyone reading this review. Please see before and after pictures. Long Version: Due to a family medical issue, I had a somewhat tight 3 month window to get three 1960s-era bathrooms, with all original fixtures (except the toilets which were replaced two years ago), upgraded and made handicap accessible. I had never had a remodel—clearly—until now. I used the Home Advisor web site, and I got 3 estimates. MONOVA Homes (MH) was the most reasonable. I went on-line (as you are doing now) and found MH had high ratings across several different ratings platforms. I saw they were local to my house (Fairfax, Virginia). Mir Aziz, the Project Manager, was helpful in thinking through my design ideas—in fact, the walk-in tub I ended up buying was his suggestion. Once work began, I was able to be home most, but not all, the time. I judge workers by this standard: Do they work as well and hard as I would if I were able to do the job myself. The foreman for my job, Ayala “Rocky” Roque, and his crew met that standard and then some! They worked efficiently, politely, and passionately, and to be honest, longer each day than I could have imagined. While I was rarely without water or at least one working bathroom during the entire project, the quick work meant I had access to my shower again in about 12 days. From start to finish, the job only took 25 days and was well within my 3-month window. The final project looks stunning and works flawlessly. Even after the final walk-through, when I could carefully scrutinize every detail, I could find no fault. I am going to attach some low resolution before and after photos of my MONOVA Homes remodel. I hope you can appreciate the transformation. Highly Recommended!!
