After almost 30 years it was time for some home upgrades. We contacted Clarkesville construction for a complete remodel of the master bathroom, new siding, new interior railings, and new attic insulation. From our initial meeting with Tom McHale through the final walk through with Randall Rill, everything went very well, and Madelin Sagastume kept everyone coordinated from back in the office. They connected us with Brigid Wethington at B. Chic Interiors who was a great help with the design. During construction they protected other areas of the home such that there was no mess outside the construction area. The crews were friendly, polite and came on schedule. Everthing was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. The quality of the work done was outstanding with great attention to detail. From grout seams to stain and painting there were no shortcuts taken. The tile, counters and vanity were beautifully installed. Any issue we noticed was immediately resolved. The siding and gutters went on just before the bad weather in January which was much appreciated. It made our house look new! It was a big project but was completed in about 4 months and we are very pleased with the outcome.

"We recently hired Clarksville Construction Services (CCS) to convert our downstairs family room into a bedroom and upgrade our existing powder room into a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. From start to finish, the experience was professional, transparent, and high-quality. The process began with a thorough consultation, (shoutout to Brad!) The proposal was very detailed, with clear line items for the scope of work. Once the project started, our project manager and their assistant (shoutout to Randall and Madelin!) were highly responsive, keeping us informed and answering any questions or concerns. The conversion of the family room was seamless, with the new walls and carpentry matching the original structure perfectly. Closing up the fireplace and painting the bricks white added the perfect accent wall to the bedroom. The bathroom upgrade was a real highlight—the plumbing and tile work in the new full shower are top-notch. I cannot name all the members of the team that worked on our home, but all of them were courteous, respectful of our home, paid attention to detail and provided outstanding service. Shoutout to Izzy, Jorge, Andy, Manuel and all the other team members that gave 5-star service. We are thrilled with our new downstairs suite and would highly recommend CCS for any major home renovation.

Do not use Clarksville for deck construction. This was a frustrating experience marked by poor workmanship and virtually no quality control. This was a straightforward replacement of a 16’x20’ second-level deck with stairs. Despite positive past experiences with Clarksville, this project was bad enough that I won’t use them again and recommend you look elsewhere. The only reason that it deserves the minimum one star is that the deck is finally done and most issues resolved. The concrete work is so bad that it's even hard to give that one star. Timeline: Contract signed late July → permit approved late October → construction began early November → completed mid-March. Even accounting for holidays and two weeks of snow, it took ~3.5 months to build a basic deck. Here is a non-exhaustive list of problems (trimmed to fit in this review) – most of which were eventually corrected but only after many complaints and me serving as the only quality control. 1. The deck was not built level. One corner was approximately 3” higher than where it attached to the house and the opposite was approximately 2” higher than where it attached to the house. It took *two* tries for them to fix this and I was the one that had to point it out both times. There was effectively zero quality control. I had to bring all of this to their attention. To reiterate, the deck was not built level – they came to fix it, clearly did not check to see if it was level once they were done, and had to be asked to come out again to fix it. (resolved) 2. The concrete footers are amateur level at best. It looks like they just splattered concrete under the posts. No forms were used, the concrete was not leveled out, and there are footprints in at least one of the footers. These were not meant to be hidden as they were supposed to match the level of the pavers and, notably, some are lower and hold water. There are splotches of concrete on paver stones and several of the pavers, for some reason, are set in concrete or fused together. They did nothing to resolve this other than throw some dirt and gravel on a few of the outer pavers. This is not resolved and there has been no offered solution, I now get to spend 20 years looking at shoddy concrete work. (NOT resolved) 3. They did not lay the decking board in the direction that we agreed on, and that I confirmed in person on three different occasions and have an email saying that they updated the work order to include it. There is no way I could have known that this wouldn’t be done ahead of time as no documentation specified how the decking was to be laid. Unfortunately, they could not fix this without modifying the support structure and their response was little more than "well you can pay us more to do what you asked for" (NOT resolved) 4. The deck failed final inspection for three separate reasons. We just happened to be here when the inspector came by. When I later told the superintendent the deck failed inspection, his response was “My carpenter has been telling that the deck has passed inspection.” – I sent a screenshot from the county website showing that it failed. (resolved) 5. The railings were supposed to be drink rails (decking board on top of the rails). Not only did they install the wrong railings, but they didn’t even order the correct ones to begin with. (resolved) 6. Once the drink rails were installed, we noticed that they were not attached tightly, I popped a few of the post caps and found that the posts were too short and that they didn’t attach the top screws into the post, only the post cover. (resolved) 9. Non-construction trash was stored in our front yard for nearly the entire time and the better part of a week after the dumpster was removed. (resolved) 10. There was minimal cleanup around the deck, beyond removing their tools, once the job was “complete.” A pile of concrete debris was just piled under the stairs, chunks of wood, and other construction trash were all over the place. There were screws and nails everywhere, and I find more everytime I go out. (NOT resolved)

Can't say enough about Clarksville Construction and their whole team who replaced all our windows and redid our bathroom and powder room. Working with Jack (sales), Mark (project manager), and Mikel (project coordinator) was a joy. They were in constant communication and were so responsive. All the workers were so professional, kind, and their attention to detail was spot on. They even moved the schedule up to accommodate us hosting a large party at the house! Let's face it...living in a home that is undergoing construction is not easy but they did a fantastic job cleaning up every single day and did everything possible to mitigate the dust and disruption to our lives. We are so grateful to each person who worked with us on this project and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor.

My wife and I wanted to provide more space for our family and create a home we could enjoy for years to come. The plan was to completely renovate the main floor of our home, build an addition with three bedrooms and a bath, as well as an attic for storage. We found Clarksville Construction after investing about 7 months planning the project with another general contractor. That general contractor informed us they were no longer interested in performing our renovations right before construction was set to begin. This was a very frustrating and stressful time during our project…until we met Adam August and his team at Clarksville Construction. Clarksville has been a first class organization from the first contact through completion of the project. We have peace of mind knowing our project was in the right hands. The project involved a complete demo of the main floor and attic (including removing the roof), all new plumbing, electric, HVAC, roof, flooring, tile, stairs, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, front porch, upgrading utilities, & etc. It was a complex project and most general contractors told us it would take 6-8 months to complete. Clarksville completed the project in a professional manner in only 4 ½ months. As is the case with any project of this size we hit a few bumps in the road along the way, but Clarksville always had a plan, and kept the project moving forward. That was a big relief for us because the project required us to be displaced right as our kids returned to school. We really appreciate the hard work of all Clarksville employees involved with our project. They showed a great deal of care and attention to detail while performing work on our dream house. We plan to continue using Clarksville for future construction projects as well as handyman and maintenance services. Thank you Adam and the team at Clarksville…you saved our project and have been a blessing to our family!!
