5+++. Tom Curran Companies was outstanding to work with from start to finish. Over the years, we have worked with many different contractors, and we can honestly say that the team at Tom Curran Companies is the best of the best. They are highly professional, communicative, and responsive and quite simply, just a pleasure to work with. Our project stayed on track because they showed up on time and addressed unforeseen issues with a solution-oriented approach. They take great pride in the work that they do and this is evident in the quality of the painting, patching, floors, and repairs we had done. We will not hesitate to use them again for the next phase of our renovations - 2 bathrooms.

Our house was built before indoor plumbing. Our family bathroom upstairs had a clawfoot tub and hardwood floors - And they weren’t nice hardwood floors. They were hardwood floors that were put into the house in 1895 and have been worn ever since. When the plumbing that had been put in the house in the early 1900s finally started to fail last year, we knew that we didn’t want to fix that plumbing. We knew that we needed to renovate the entire bathroom strip it down to studs and rebuild. We had a few contractor groups in and received a variety of bids. The bids fell into two categories: the ones who would do it all for you, and the ones that, in short, wouldn’t. Tom Curren’s bid came in at the higher end, but their presentation of how their teams worked together and the services they offered made the price reasonable. Contractors at the low end were half the price, but the contractors told us that we should buy “the stuff”, put it in the garage, and they’d put it in the bathroom for us. Since we knew we were ripping up 100 year old floors and we had no idea what we would find under them, we were pretty sure that we did not know what “stuff” was going to be needed. The low-end contractors didn't have relationships with plumbers. They didn't have the seamless teams. The Tom Curren team took care of us from start to finish. They helped us with planning what the bathroom would look like at the end and the fixtures and cabinets. They gave us showroom contacts to look for the tubs and the sinks and the vanities and the toilets that we wanted. When we were headed to the showroom I could have sworn that I had no opinions about showerheads. I was shocked at how many opinions I actually had. Sure, enough, when work started, we found surprises in the walls and under the floors. Apparently, when plumbing was added to the bathroom, The plumbers of the day cut 60% to 70% through weight-bearing joists. The Tom Curren team spent entire days working with our city inspectors to find a solution that would bring us up to code. Even with the scope of the issue, the change order was only for about $200 to buy the additional parts. All the extra work with the city inspector was just part of our contract. Our bathroom held more than one surprise, but the cost stayed constant. Our project manager, John, kept us updated daily on what was happening with inspections and plumbers and carpenters and tilers. There was a lot of work done, and we always felt that we were kept up-to-date. Watching the bathroom come together was lovely. John even noticed imperfections that I had missed entirely and made sure they were fixed without me saying anything. It was a massive project and losing the use of a bathroom is always going to be inconvenient, but it was never stressful due to the project management, communication, cleanliness, and genuine kindness from everyone who stepped foot in my house. I cannot recommend Tom Curren strongly enough.

Tom Curren Companies’ staff is skilled and professional from first contact thru completion of the punch list. The contract was detailed and complete in what was and wasn’t included in the project, including price and assumptions. Curren’s day-to-day onsite project leader was an excellent communicator with us (the client) and the subcontractor tradesmen. Evident was a strong Curren team working in the background. We are very pleased with the final result.

I was looking for kitchen remodeling project for my small kitchen in the old condo unit. Tom Curren Company provided a reasonable price with all-in-one service -which save a lot of hassle and worrying for a first-time home owner. Every interaction with the team was genuinely delightful. Throughout the remodeling journey, my home was not just a construction site; it was a living space undergoing transformation. Jeff, my dedicated project manager, not only ensured the delivery of high-quality work but also took the extra step to maintain the daily cleanliness of my residence post their work. The entire spectrum of the project, spanning plumbing, electrical work, cabinets, backsplash, flooring, and painting, was executed with an unwavering commitment to professionalism. They are very experienced with the issues of the old house remodeling. Additionally, they demonstrate high levels of professionalism, friendliness, respect, and an exceptional attention to detail. I experienced great satisfaction in having them handle my kitchen remodeling, and I enthusiastically suggest considering them for various home remodeling projects.
