We recently had a new shower installed by Carolina Home Remodeling, and, while the workmanship itself appears solid and the installers were professional, our experience with the design and communication process was deeply disappointing—especially given the nearly $28,000 investment. Five weeks before installation, we sat down with the design consultant and carefully selected the exact shower design and paneling we wanted. However, on the morning of installation, we were told for the first time that the side panels would not match the back feature wall as designed and that we “probably weren’t going to like the final product.” We were then offered plain white side panels instead because, as we were told, other customers had chosen that option when faced with the same issue. While that may sound like a reasonable alternative, this information should have been communicated weeks earlier, not at the last minute when the installation team was already there and the process was underway. Had we known upfront that our chosen design would not come together as presented, we likely would have selected an entirely different shower design. To make matters worse, the replacement white panels are not even the same shade of white as the patterned Jacuzzi back wall, making the mismatch even more noticeable. After two days installation, and unhappy customers, I informed the company and the customer service was pretty lackluster, especially from a girl names Faith who asked for final payment and couldn’t care less that I was not happy. They offered to come out on another day while I was traveling to show what the mismatched side spade walls would’ve look like, but come on… I understand things can happen in remodeling projects, and I know many customers may have positive experiences. But good business is about clear communication, managing expectations, and honoring the design process. A $500 credit does not come close to addressing the frustration of ending up with something materially different than what was selected and expected. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this company. I hope this helps someone else.

We had a great experience working with Carolina Home Remodeling. TIm Gorman was great & easy to talk to about all the options. Wayne was our installer for both bathrooms. He worked very hard those days and did an excellent job. Derek with Shower doors of Charlotte finished the job by installing the all glass door on our shower. We highly recommend this company.

We’re having our shower remodeled, converting our old bathtub into a walk‑in shower. Bob was incredible, he explained everything clearly and helped us understand all of our options. He was especially helpful when I was deciding between two colors, making sure I knew how each one would look with our lighting and wall color. I truly feel like I had the best person guiding me through the entire process.

Installation of shower in the master bathroom and tub/shower in the guest bathroom was completed by Carolina Home Remodeling. Angel was a hard worker…diligent and precise. He was patient with my questions and answered with proficiency and did an excellent job in both bathrooms. I highly recommend him.

The sales representative was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the process to me. She was very patient and was at my home for quite awhile. She was encouraging me to get the shower remodel done right away, before any issues arise. She would not recommend waiting. I wish she would have brought up the fact that the sound of the shower changes completely. I didn't realize it would be so loud until the remodel was completed and the shower was used for the first time. On the day of the remodel the worker showed up on time and he was very polite and efficient. He took the time to make sure not to make too much of a mess. I was told the shower remodel would take a couple of days to finish, unless the customer requested for it to be completed in one day. I did not request that but he stayed and finished it in one day anyway because he was booked for the next day. The completed shower remodel looked very nice. It looked exactly like the design model. After inspecting the completed shower I had one concern. That concern being one of the corners looked lighter than the rest of the shower. I brought this up to the worker and he told me that was due to lighting. A couple of days later I did call Carolina Home Remodeling and once again expressed my concern. They had someone come out the next day. He also said it looked like lighting to him but he was willing to redo that corner to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not make a difference. When the shower was used for the first time I had another concern. The shower is on the second floor but if you're on the first floor you could hear the whole shower throughout the duration. It sounds like the shower is coming through the ceiling. Once again I called Carolina Home Remodeling and they sent someone out the next day. He checked it out and said everything is working properly and that there were no leaks. He said that's just the way it is and you have to live with it. Once again I believe I should have been informed that the sound of the shower could be drastically changed after getting this remodel done. Overall it has been a mixed experience.
