“We have had two excellent renovation experiences with Heartland. For our first one, we chose Heartland after interviewing a number of local companies. For that project, they remodeled our master bed/bath and added a portico to our front door. We were so satisfied with that experience and quality, that we did a kitchen renovation with them too. We recommended them to a good friend who also contracted with them for a major renovation which is underway. We have only positive things to say about our experience with Heartland - from scoping and design through construction and finishing, we found them reliable, reasonable, and high quality. Through great communication and close engagement we were able to easily work through any unforeseen events (e.g. inspection hiccups, supply chain shortages, schedule flexes). It takes patience and attention to detail on both sides, and we got that from the Heartland team. We would use them again if we had more projects!”

This time -- as always -- the work was great but we really felt that noone was really managing the process, advocating for our interests, overseeing progress, or communicating with us proactively on an ongoing basis. This was very disappointing and has us questioning if in fact we'd recommend NVS. I want to note that we more than understand logistics issues, etc.; this went far beyond that.”

“-Caulk in the kitchen continues to fail. About to be replaced for the third time. -Dishwasher was never installed correctly. Door does not close properly. Door seals have been replaced twice. -Drawer faces in our island have defects or poor craftsmanship. All drawer fronts have four nail pop like protrusions, as if something was nailed from inside the drawer into the drawer front. -Paint had to redo and does not match original. Had to pay to have the bedroom repainted because the touchups did not match. -I have pictures and video. -Work was done in, Alexandria, VA.”

The whole project went very smoothly, according to plan and within contract budget. Ford Hale was our sales consultant. He was very thorough and put me at ease explaining how NVS does business. He was always responsive and even stopped by a couple of times to check on things once our project got started. Brian Arrington was our day to day project manager and he was excellent. We were not home for the first two weeks of the project but felt very comfortable having him there. He communicated promptly via text or phone call whenever questions arose. He skillfully managed scheduling all of the subcontractors and was even able to do the flooring work himself to save on cost. I would definitely work with NVS again. Great experience!”

“NVS is a terrific firm to work with, their professionalism made our project low stress and the outcomes were incredible. We have an older house in Old Town Alexandria, and they did a great job budgeted for this project given the age and unknowns in our house. The lead carpenter was fantastic, he communicated daily with us what to expect, and his craftsmanship was outstanding. NVS works with trades that perfectionists and did outstanding work in our home. We highly recommend NVS based upon the work they did for our home.”
