"We bought our Heat pump from Oliver 10+ years ago and were very happy. We have the system inspected twice a year and have been faithful to Oliver. Over the years, the quality of service has declined markedly. Last fall, my spouse called, explained our long relationship, asked for a spring inspection and asked about coupon that arrived in ValPak. The individual gladly scheduled an inspection. The young man arrived after dark, went to the basement, looked at the thermostat, and went outside to look at the unit. He didn't even have a flashlight! How could he inspect the unit in the dark? Nothing was inspected and nothing was tested. When my spouse asked for a written report, the young man said that Oliver doesn't give reports. (Look in my files and see the reports from prior years!) He then charged us $100 (the coupon was for $99, so they can't even be accurate). When we called Oliver, they said that the ValPak coupon was only good for exterior visual inspection. Really? Why were we not told that when we called for an appointment? Their files show that we have a full testing and inspection done twice a year - and they implied that is what we would get. We were told that the customer service person would call us back for a more complete discussion. No one ever called us. The firm has lost our business by being deceptive and non-responsive."

"I probably would have given this 5 stars a couple years ago. What I have noticed is that I am no longer getting the highly qualified techs to do my maintenance. I'm not saying I'm dissatisfied as the last 2 techs who have been to my home were very courteous and respectful but I felt they were a rung below previous techs. I guess this is Oliver's way of competing with other companies who are offering cleanings for less than $50. I would continue to recommend Oliver to others but do have to tell you that what has kept me as your loyal customer for all of these years has been your reputation and knowing I would get high quality work done by exceptional techs. I have been willing to pay more for your incredibly high prices because I felt great about the technician doing my work but lately I am not seeing quite the same quality and it seems the techs coming to my home were not your better techs (although they were courteous and did seem to do a good job for me). If I'm paying high prices, I want the best."
