Hometown Lanscaping is the absolute best!!!! We hired them for our backyard pool project and they were kind, professional, responsive, and informative every step of the way. The owners are amazing, and all of the staff (Jeff, Nick, Claude, Chris, and Fred to name of few) made us feel important and informed at all times. We love our new space and look forward to creating many amazing memories in our new backyard!!

Caitlyn is very rude and disrespectful as I requested to speak with the owner as there had been a lack of communication and schedule to complete our project. She told me the owner was too busy although not too busy to take my money. Caitlyn indicated the owner deserved to spend time with his 4 college children (which was not relevant to my request) and was too busy running a business to respond to my request. Hometown could not get their own plumber to do a job so we ended up having our plumber do the work. Landscapers were going to cut corners with downspout work by using tape, which I caught after requesting to see the work and required the work to be redone. Repeatedly requested a schedule from Jeff to complete work and was not provided. What should have been a 2 week project is still unknown as to when it will be finished. Need better project management and communication.

Great service from Hometown Landscaping! I worked with Stefan on a spring clean up and mulching job. Both Stefan and the service crew were friendly and very professional. The crew did outstanding work for a reasonable price. I will be a returning customer.

I wish I could give 0 stars. "Customer waives the right to withhold from payment or set off any funds for any reason whatsoever" – that’s the first thing you’ll sign in their contract. It’s essentially a license for Hometown Landscaping to do whatever they want, refuse to fix issues, and then bully you into paying for subpar work. $36,000.00 to fix what they have done wrong! They are currently suing me in Circuit Court because I refused to pay the final payment until they put all permanent fixes in writing. To start, the quality of their work is absolutely horrendous. After multiple attempts to get them to fix ongoing issues, they have refused to put any solutions in writing, leaving me stuck with a backyard that looks worse than before they started. The list of problems is endless: Billing for uncompleted work: They billed me for 230 tons of fill dirt that was never delivered. Patio Extension Double Bill: They also tried to double-bill me for a patio extension by adding on top of the proposal after it was already listed separately in a second proposal. Lighting and electrical issues: They were supposed to wire and hook up lights to the electrical source, but instead, they just left the wiring lying in the yard for me to hire an electrician to finish. Incomplete work: They were supposed to build a platform for pool equipment, but they never did. Shoddy stonework: The concrete border they installed around the patio is a mess. It was not done according to industry standards or the stone manufacturer’s specifications, making the patio look awful and preventing grass from growing. After trying to fix it, they just put in river rock, which constantly moves, exposes the ugly edges, or ends up in the pool. Patio sinking and drainage problems: The patio itself is sinking in multiple areas and is now lower than the drains. The drains are completely ineffective because there are gaps between the stone and the drain, making them useless. Subpar natural stone walkways: The mortar on the walkways keeps washing away due to improper grading and placement, and they’ve tried to "fix" it several times without a lasting solution. Now I’m expected to maintain the shoddy work they’ve done. Promised a green lawn: put 2” of topsoil and grass seed late last year and all of it washed away and I have a lawn of weeds. I had another reputable stone company come in for an estimate, and their bid to fix everything was $36,000. It’s clear Hometown Landscaping does not care about the quality of their work or customer satisfaction—they’ve just tried to get me to pay and hope I’ll go away. On top of all of this, Hometown Landscaping is incredibly aggressive with legal threats. They sued me in Circuit Court because I refused to pay for work they haven’t fixed and tried to charge me for work they didn’t even complete. They don’t care about you as a customer—only about getting paid and then washing their hands of any responsibility. Do yourself a favor—stay far away from this company. I’m stuck with poor workmanship and an expensive legal battle because of their business practices. Save yourself the headache and hire a different company.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Hometown Landscape on several major projects—deck construction, patio, porch, walkway, landscaping, and most recently, our front door—and every experience has been excellent. Their work ethic and professionalism have stood out across the board. Each crew has been timely, courteous, and committed to doing the job right. The company is highly responsive, communicates clearly throughout each project, and consistently delivers high-quality results at a reasonable price. Even when a small issue arose during the final phase, it was addressed promptly and respectfully, which only reinforced our trust in them. We highly recommend Hometown Landscape for anyone looking for reliable, skilled, and professional work. We’ll gladly continue to partner with them on future projects.
