“They talked about that they were going to cover my bushes and I couldn't get into it. They were going to cover everything and I couldn't use my garage for a week. They never covered my bushes and when I went up into my attic, it was filthy. It was all the dust and the dirt and I have an air conditioning unit up there. I said to them, 'If it breaks down, I'll know it was because it sucked in all this garbage.' They had to come back and they blew it around. They had things that would suck it. I said, 'You said you were going to cover everything.' They didn't cover my outside air conditioner and then I had problems with that. They said, 'We have problems where we can't cover.' I said, 'I'm not home during the day. I would have turned off the damn air conditioning and cover the equipment outside.' I paid for the service call, but it was aggravating when they said they were going to. They're very overpriced. Somebody did work for me afterward and he said, 'How much did you spend?' I told him. He said, 'I wish you would've called me. They gouged you.' This is from somebody else who does that. He's a contractor. He doesn't just do roofing. They were very nice at the beginning and then they get your money. I'll give them a C. They have one guy come out to sell you the job. The guy who came back to do the real work was very nice, but the original guy said anything to sell the job. 'We're going to cover everything.' I haven't had any leaks or anything. They did it in the timeframe that they said they would. I absolutely would not recommend them because I know that I got gouged.”

“Well, the level of communication made it positive. We had a rather difficult circumstance with my project manager and his failing health, but we stayed with it. We worked through it with Roof Masters, and that project manager seemed like a very good person, one that you could trust, very knowledgeable. Even after we had a new project manager, he certainly continued the same level of service. I think the interacting was certainly an A, B. I mean you can't control your health circumstances, unplanned things like that but I believe as we interviewed different roofers we decided on Roof Masters for a variety of reasons—again, price, their knowledge of the product. We could see the quality of their work because our neighbor had also had Roof Masters’ work done, and I think that I've been very pleased with them. Again, we worked through some difficult circumstances and we're still working to finalize everything, but just the communication was straightforward and so far, everything has worked out very well. I'm highly likely to recommend them, no question about it. I've told people about the circumstances and people have positively reacted to what I told them, particularly about Roof Masters and service recovery. With the period of time where we weren't certain as to what was going on and to have the owner of the company reach out to you directly to keep you apprised to what is happening, really says a lot about not only his caring about a customer but also his caring about his employees and made me feel his customers are aware of what's going on with his project manager.”

“I wouldn't use them again or refer them necessarily, but they finally got the job done. Initially, we were very pleased. However, at the end we couldn't get them to come back out. I had a question about the roof and neither of the workers spoke English. Finally, I had to get the owner back out here to ask the question. I would give them a B for the overall experience. The owner was excellent. Everybody else was not. They showed up the first time to give the estimate right on time. After that, the workers that came out left with no explanation. They didn't speak any English. We didn't know when they were coming back. Their cleanliness was fine.”

We have to deal with resolving issues about any refunds or work compensation or me paying them for a roof that I didn't need to have done or wasn't ready to have done right then. Overall, I would give them a D because I wouldn't use them again. Customer service was good. They didn't know what was going on.”

“I like that they stuck to their timeline. They gave me updates along the way as I requested. They seemed to be pretty straight shooters about what was going on and what needed to be paid for. It was a replacement of my roof, but as part of that some of the wood paneling boards underneath the shingles were damaged. At first, I was concerned that they were going to have to replace all of them, which would have been very expensive, but they said they only had to do a dozen or so. It turned out to be a lot better than I feared. I'd give them an A+ overall. They did leave some things lying around. I would recommend them.”

“They did good work. They did a roof repair. I'd give the workers an A+. The planning side of the house, I'd give them a zero. I thought I paid the bill and then a couple of months went by, I got this nasty phone call. I hadn't paid my bill. I said, 'You have my credit card on file. You were supposed to deduct the money.' 'Well, we don't do that unless you tell us to.' I said, 'Well how about when you got your down payment?' So, I wasn't real happy about that. The quality of the work done on the roof was very good. It's the roof of our garage, but it's a deck as well. So, it's flat. I would definitely recommend them.”

They came out and gave me a detailed bid so I understood what I was getting. The up front work prior to deciding who I would work with was key. I understood exactly what I was buying. They came out, took the time, gave me the bid package. I read through it and understood what I was getting. I knew how to compare what I was getting with other people who came through. None of them gave as good a package as Roof Masters. Then they did the work and did it to a high level of quality. They had a good crew on it. I'm an engineer and I've worked in maintenance. These guys were very good. I was pleased with the work. Give them an A+.”

“I repeatedly had to make them come back and finish their work. They did the bulk of the work, but they weren't particularly professional when it came to cleaning up after themselves or finishing anything. I repeatedly had to make them come back and finish things and make them clean up after themselves. They replaced the roof. Their customer service was fine. I just shouldn't have to call someone to do their job. I recommended them to my neighbor who used them and had the same experience. They did the job and then had to come out six times to finish it. They definitely need to work on their ability to do it right the first time. They're good at selling, they're not so good at finishing. I'd give them a B. They did good work, but we had issues.”

“They were backed up. It took a little while to get it scheduled, but the roof if it doesn't leak, it's hard to know if any roofer did what they're supposed to because you don't go on there. The only way you know is if you don't see something leaking so it's kind of a little different from other home type services. So what they said they'd do they did, it was a fair estimate, once they came they did it in one day and that was that. It was fine. There were some areas that needed to be patched up. I would recommend them. I'd give them a B+ because the difficult thing is you don't have a bird's eye direct view of the work they did. You can't inspect it unless you go up there. There's a certain difference between that and people who do work inside of the house or on landscaping and other areas as well.”

“They showed up in the time window, the final charge was lower than the estimate, the work was done in a timely fashion, and they sent me a nice follow-up report. They were checking on a leak we had that another home company had discovered. It looked like our roof was leaking, so they went up to check to see what kind of work needed to be done. It turned out that we didn't need to have a roof replacement, so that was nice. They didn't try to sell us stuff we didn't need. I don't remember the technical term, but they just had to replace the cap that runs along the pointy bit of the roof and around an exhaust pipe that hadn't been installed correctly the first time. They took out the old rusting one and put in the right materials, and now we don't have a leak. They earned an A from us.”

“They were very professional, and they got there on time and cleaned up. They did the work as quickly as they possibly could. They replaced the ridge cap, did a couple of repairs on some shingles that had blown off, and did some waterproofing around an exhaust pipe. They were there on time, so I didn't have to wait for them. He was very quick, and he showed me everything that needed to be done, either by picture or with binoculars. He explained the pricing, sent it to me, signed off on it, and that's exactly what it cost me. There weren't any fees, add-ons, or anything else. I'd give them an A+ because the work they did impressed the current buyer of the house. He liked the way it looks. He was happy with it, and so was I.”

“I found Roof Masters great to work with. I'd gotten a couple of estimates, and theirs was in the ballpark with the other estimates. They weren't the lowest, but it was very competitive. The salesman came out and explained what they do, how they work on their warranty, and the process. He kept me informed and said there would be some weather issues in the spring, and they came out and said they thought they could do it in one day. The crew showed up, and they were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They were here almost twelve hours, and they were very polite. There was one question I had about if they could they replace the skylight. I said, ‘Well, I thought I was having a dome skylight and not a flat skylight.’ The guy called his boss and said, ‘Yep. OK, we'll have the dome here. Don't worry about it. We'll get it from the warehouse.’ It was all very positive. One guy had to come back and put the finishing cap on the roof because they didn't have it that day. He came back, and he was a very polite guy. He came up and did his thing. A few days later, one the managers stopped by to see how everything was. It was great—they did a great job. There's a skylight on the roof, and because of that, they have to put all of the ceiling around it. It's an existing skylight, around 30 years old. They said, ‘We have 12 of them, and we can put those in,’ so we just put a new skylight in. I can see my roof, and they did a very thorough job. They replaced all of the collars around the pipes. We went to the architectural review board because we wanted a little different color than the normal colors approved by the architectural review board. Roof Masters went to the board, pleaded our case, and said it was very similar to other colors. They added the color to their board of architectural review colors allowed, so that was good. We got the color we wanted. We're very happy with the work, and we haven't had any problems with the results. I'd give them an A+. We've had a lot of work done at our house—it's a 30-year-old house. We knew the roof had to be repaired, and like I said, I got several quotes. I would give Roof Masters an A+. They were really great to work for and their quote was within $200 of the other ones. They were very thorough in coming out and explaining. They did everything. They said our house now doesn't need code. It needs a vent along the roofline. I was really happy, and the guys on-site were fine. They were really clean. They really washed out things, and they had magnets to pick up all the nails when they left. We didn't have any problems with the crew here. They were polite and quiet and just went to work and worked all day. One guy said that he had to come back and put a couple of shingles on there, and he was back, did his thing, and said that I was all set. A few days later, a manager called and asked if everything was OK. We're happy.”

“The first time it was positive and the second time it wasn't. The first time I had them come out, which was last September, was to fix my gutters because water was leaking behind them. They were supposed to put some flashing up between the roof and the gutters and fix a couple of small holes I had in a roof, since I can't afford a whole new one. They fixed the holes, but when they put the flashing up they missed five feet of it and I was still getting water behind the gutters and back end of the house. The second time, which took me almost three months of calling to get somebody to call me back and finally schedule out to my house. They didn't call me when they were coming out until the day they were actually in my driveway, telling me that they were there to fix it. I was already at work. For anything at my house, I take off work so that I can be there to watch it. I'm a contractor. I don't do the work on roofs, but I know what to do. I make sure that I'm there so that I know that what they're doing is the right way to do it. The guy's there telling me he can't rehang my gutter, even though they rehung my gutter the first time and changed the slope of it. He said he couldn't rehang the gutter properly because it was already up too high. I said, 'Fine, put the flashing in there and leave the house.' They missed the one major issue, was to keep the water from running behind the gutters and rotting out the wood that they just put in. I wasn't too happy about that because they never called me and told me they were coming out, until they were already in the driveway at that point. I'm not too happy with the way they actually handled a warranty call. When I do warranty calls, I'm out there as fast as I possibly can and I make sure I fix it right and it doesn't get broken again. I make sure everybody sees it the way it's supposed to be done. I wasn't allowed to do that. The guy who did the work, I'd rate him at least a B or a B+ because he did what he was supposed to do. He did not relocate my gutter, but that's fine. I told him to leave that alone because I'll do that myself after he complained that he couldn't do it. As far as customer service, I'd rate them pretty low at around C. They don't do warranty jobs as well as I thought they should've.”

“It was a so-so experience. When they came to do the work, they did not explain clearly what they were doing and they quoted about seven hundred dollars plus for the work. My tenant told me they were barely there for less than five minutes. They just didn't explain what they did. They came in a hurry. They went out and they didn't tell the tenant what was being done and so forth. That's why I'm not happy. There was a vent in the attic that connected to the heating unit I have. We have two zones home. We have a heating unit in the attic. So that has a pipe that connects through the roof to the top so that it vents everything out. The caulking for that pipe was cut even so water started coming through the pipe and started getting into the heating unit, ruining the unit. He fixed it once. The heating people told me that I had to get a roofer to fix it with a special kind of caulking. They came and they said they would inspect it. They gave a descriptive schedule, but less than five minutes they were gone. I'm not even sure if they did all of that. I was hoping they were a big company, professional and took care of things. I'd probably give them a C+ for the overall experience.”

“They did a good job. I think because I haven't been on the roof. It was a minor job, it wasn't a replacement. Yeah, it was a repair. They came out right away, but they actually didn't do the work for a very long time. If a friend were to ask about the company, I would give them their name but I would suggest that they take a before and after picture because we kind of had to take their word for what they did because we're not going to go up on the roof. I'd give them a B+ because the fact that we didn't do a before and after picture and they didn't come out for a long time, but it wasn't an emergency.”

“I liked that everything was done on time and that they did what they said they would do. They replaced our roof. We had a few other problems, and they took care of it. We had problems with our neighbor on the other side of us. We live in a town house, and the guy was causing us a lot of problems and saying it was the roofer's problem. The gentleman from Roof Masters said that he would take care of it, and he did. We haven't had any more problems since. The work they did is extremely good. One of my neighbors told us about the company, and I'd say they deserve an A.”

“I liked their promptness. They did a good job. I haven't had any problems. They did a roof in one room. It was a new material; it's very well insulated and all that, so the room feels warmer. I would give them an A.”

“We would highly recommend Roof Masters. We’ve had them do two jobs for us. They were on time, and they did a good job. They cleaned up, too. It was quality work, so they're good. They put two different roofs on for us. My wife saw them in a neighborhood. We have a farm, and my wife has chickens and gives eggs to people in the neighborhood. It's kind of an artsy place, but the home requires some special care. She saw their truck there, so we called them up to do our work, too. I'd give them an A.”

“They did the job on the back very well. I like their timeliness. They cleaned up most of the stuff. There was still just a little bit of debris, they could've done a little better sweeping the deck off to get the shingles out of the way. They set up a gutter to get the water channeled into the gutter inside of down the side of my house. I haven't had any issues with the work since then. I would give them a B on this one. I'm trying to get a hold of them right now to do some work out front, but they have not called me back.”

“They did some repair work for us. When they came, I wanted some information about how much the roof would cost, some options. The person insisted that he wouldn't talk to me without my husband present. That was the first time I've ever run into that. Eventually I did use them because I needed to have an immediate fix done on the roof. He had said that if I went with them for the immediate fix, then they would credit the amount that I paid them. I called them to set up an appointment to talk about the whole roof thing and have my husband present, which seems to be very demeaning, but he never got back to me. I eventually ended up using somebody else. They did minor work. The work was fine. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I've never had anyone say 'I can't talk to you with your husband present.' The work was fine but it's an attitude problem. At the time, the roof was leaking and I had to have repairs on the ceiling because of it.”

“The product was positive, the experience was very long and drawn out. The person who was supposed to be going through the city and making sure that we had everything needed for approval said that we didn't need anything. Then they denied our permit and it was like that for several months. We ended up having to go to the city and do all sorts of stuff to get it finally approved for the project to move forward. It was a long process and we thought it wasn't going to happen for a while. At that point, we already had half of it done so it was going to be kind of a really awful situation if we couldn't finish it off. In the end, it looks great and we're happy with the product. They did a roof and a porch. I would hesitate to use them for a roof, not for anything other else. I think they're a C overall.”

“They came in and did more than what I had expected, so they did a great job. What I liked was that they went over the entire roof and checked every place. They replaced a lot of the shingles on the roof that I was not expecting them to. Some shingles were missing in certain areas, but they actually went over the entire roof and replaced all the shingles. They got the job done and left, so they did a great job. It was very thorough. I’d had someone do roof repair similar to what I called Roof Masters for, but I didn't quite like what they did. Roof Masters’ pricing was really good and reasonable; it was better than what I’d paid in the past. I will definitely try them again when I have to do my roof again. I would definitely give them an A because I would call them again.”

“They came out to give me an estimate, took pictures, showed me the pictures, and showed me what they were going to do. When they showed me a picture of my roof, it looked like nails were popping out or something, and they replaced that. They deserve an A.”
