We signed up for twice yearly cleaning of our roof and gutters when we replaced our roof with Valentine. This is the second time they haven’t cleaned the gutters when they said they did and charged us $300. Not only that, they damaged the roof on one of the corners. I have tried to call to rectify the situation and can only leave a message and wait for someone to call me back. Completely unsatisfactory.

Drywall damage now showing in the interior of the house. Edit to original- after concerns where made clear, Valentine did take the time to address the issues to the work and did come out on multiple occasions to make it right. There is still a disagreement as to the aesthetic of the work, but I definitely appreciate the willingness to listen and attempt to correct. Valentine dumps a hefty amount of its resources into advertising “quality work” boasting being voted the “Best in the PNW” by the Seattle Times and getting a “Super Service Award” by Angi to get consumers, like me, to take a second look at it when it comes time for roof work. While I very much would’ve liked to have paid for the work advertised, I didn’t. We signed the contract four months before the actual work started. The estimator was very likeable, down to earth, and addressed all questions we had. We asked for the estimate to include all possible costs so we could budget accordingly. He agreed and provided us an estimate that we thought was the “worst case scenario” number. We felt at ease. We felt we went with a contractor that wasn’t cheap, but one we felt could provide quality work that was done with care. Four months later the work began. Instead of working with the estimator, we now have a project manager that is our point of contact. Day one, we’re told our “worst case scenario” number wasn’t actually the worst case… we were now told it’s $3k more than we thought we’d owe, at most. Not the best news to get the first day and frustrating after having a candid conversation about surprise charges. During the first few days of the work, our project manager was unreachable for multiple hours at a time while the work was happening. The weather was not great and there was intermittent rainfall during the first week of work. We had concerns of water intrusion, runoff not being drained properly, and the roof being exposed. Our gutters were torn off and the fascia exposed. We were told that everything would be put back together once the roof was done. When the rain wouldn’t let up, and we noticed the water not draining properly, we continued to contact the PM. We were told everything was protected. It wasn’t until we showed photos and videos of the issues we saw that anything was actually done. The second half of the job went better in terms of communication, but we still had concerns about the aesthetic of the roof, but gave them the benefit of the doubt until the job was done before addressing the concern, again. The roof work finished. Not being a roof expert, I can’t speak to the durability of the roof nor can I address leak prevention, but I can say it looks terrible and sloppy. Our roof looks worse than it did before they started. The gutters were initially reattached incorrectly, the flashing wasn’t cut to the correct length on multiple areas causing an overlap with the flashing attachment. When this was brought up, we were met with a slight openness to address our issues, but ultimately half-assed, semi fixes and ignoring the majority of our complaints was the final result. If we would’ve selected a roofer that claimed to have the cheapest price and the quickest turnaround, I think this outcome would be more understandable. We didn’t do that. We thought we were paying for quality. For a company that leans so heavy into advertising as being the best, we really expected more.

I highly recommend Valentine Roofing! They replaced my roof five years ago, and their commitment to customer service has continued long after the installation. Every year, Kannon comes out to perform my annual roof maintenance service, and he consistently does an outstanding job. It's clear that he genuinely cares about the quality of his work and the long-term condition of my roof. Thanks to his attention to detail and Valentine Roofing's excellent maintenance program, my roof continues to perform great year after year. If you're looking for a roofing company that stands behind their work and provides exceptional ongoing service, Valentine Roofing is the company to call. Valentine Roofing has a great system with the different teams working all together. First off: my two favorite people in my team were my Project Coordinator, Rochelle Robles and the Foreman Elmer. Rochelle went out of her way to keep me informed, reassured me whenever I needed it and responded quickly and always to all of my concerns. Amazing! Thank you Rochelle, you are amazing, kind and caring. I was so very grateful to have Elmer, my Foreman worked on my roof. He is an expert at what he does; truly knowledgeable, hard working, and pays attention to details. My roof has many skylights, angles and needed someone who specializes in these difficult roofs. My cathedral roof around my chimney needed a lot of extra attention and he knew exactly what to do with it. I have great respect for someone with such high work ethics and professionalism. Thanks to you, Elmer, I now have a roof that is in excellent condition. His team was also wonderful. Hard working, friendly and respectful all around. Most days they were working for 11 hours, in order to get the job done as fast as possible; they kept everything clean and were very pleasant to be around. Eric, my Estimator was easy going, didn't push a sale and gave me all the information I needed to make my decision to go with Valentine Roofing. He gave me the feeling that I was in great hands with Valentine Roofing. I only saw my Project Manager Hunter once but I received detailed, kind and caring text messages and emails throughout the project. I truly appreciated that. Photos and detailed lists explaining the work that needed to be done were provided by him. I can only recommend Valentine Roofing for any project you might have. Professional, great workmanship, great communication, fast, with attention to every detail and concerns you might have, you'll be in great hands. ;) D. H.

As tenants of the home, we wanted to take a moment to recognize the outstanding experience we had with Valentine Roofing throughout our recent roofing project. From the very beginning, Eric, the estimator, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He took the time to answer questions thoroughly and helped set clear expectations for the project. His expertise and friendly approach immediately gave us confidence that we were in good hands. Nick, the foreman, was equally impressive. He was courteous, attentive, and clearly took great pride in his work. It was obvious that he cared about both the quality of the installation and the overall experience of everyone involved. The crew was hardworking, respectful, and always willing to stop to answer questions along the way. We were especially grateful for Hunter, the Project Manager. Even though we were only the tenants and not the homeowners, he made sure we felt fully informed and involved throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain each step in a way that was easy to understand and provided immediate updates as the project progressed. His communication was exceptional and made us feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. Everyone we interacted with at Valentine Roofing was courteous, knowledgeable, genuinely kind, and focused on customer satisfaction. They made what could have been a disruptive project feel smooth, organized, and stress-free. We are extremely impressed with the entire team and would absolutely recommend Valentine Roofing to friends, family, and neighbors in the future.
