Pavers can be molded to recreate the looks of a number of other materials, such as cobblestone, slate, or brick. After designing the ideal layout for a paver feature, the contractor will excavate the area and create a smooth surface over which the paver stones will later be installed. During installation, pavers are laid individually over the smooth lower layer and then tapped into place. Last of all, a layer of sand is spread over the finished paver stones to connect them.
