This is an honest review of my experience with a full backyard makeover from Sta-built. This review is being written about 6-weeks after completion, so you get our full opinion on the project. The final product is absolutely amazing and they earned 5-stars, but the process wasn’t perfect. This was a big project involving a retaining wall, patio cover-up, new stairs, new patio, tons of backfill, new sod, new steppers, and a pergola installation. I’ll start with the best part, design team and sales. I worked with Beau out of their Lynnwood branch. I had 5 companies come out and give both ideas and quotes for this project. Beau spent the most time asking us questions and adapting the design to our preferences. Some of our ideas cost more but he told us that every step of the way and ultimately designed our dream backyard. Other companies wanted to push their ideas or cheaper ways to do the job, which I appreciate, but some aspects we weren’t willing to cut corners on. So, we owe our love of our new yard to Beau’s ability to decipher our personal goals and show us ways to achieve it. Then the project began. While overall it was a good experience, this is where they lost a star in my opinion. First, the start of the project got delayed by about 4-weeks. Then, we got very little communication on expectations once it began. Like one day a port-a-potty just showed up at our house. I get it, but a bit of a shock when they didn’t tell us and thank goodness we made plans to not park in our driveway for a few weeks as they used our entire driveway for weeks. I did appreciate we had direct communication with the project manager the whole time. He was very attentive throughout the project. We wish he would have been more proactive in asking us about decisions before just doing the work and having us come home daily, review the work, and give our feedback/adjustments needed. I felt like we were leading the communication instead of him, but overall it worked out well just with a little more re-work than I would have thought which he never complained about so it felt like it was just normal business for them. I appreciate that they always made it right and made it what we wanted. Overall, our experience was 95% positive. The bad parts and why they lose a star in my book was a few hiccups with the finishing of the project. They had miscommunications about one large aspect of the project, the project manager took a few liberties that weren’t in the contract that were not what we asked for (but are nice in the end), and he failed to do quality checks at the end of the project and truly bring it to a close. But, why they earned their 5-stars back. Daniel, the owner of the company, was a blessing to work with. When the miscommunication happened between sales and site manager her personally called me to apologize and promised it would be made right. He held up that promise. Then, when the end of the project never got quality checks and I was frustrated he again called, did a video walkthrough with me, wrote up a punch-list of all items needing final touches, and sent a crew that next Monday to complete it all to my expectations. To have an owner step up like that when it is minor in the big picture, but huge for the customer paying a lot of money and wanting every piece done right. He literally told me that he is in the business of making the customer happy, that means completing the work as I want it done not his crew’s way, so he understood my asks and made them a reality. I would highly recommend Sta-built for the quality of work we received, their willingness to design based on our desires, and their owner standing behind his company and making sure the customer is satisfied. The pictures of the transformation from a practically un-usable sloped and weed filled yard to this masterpiece speaks for itself. We are grateful we picked them in our extensive search for such a big project. We are 6-weeks post-project and are outside almost every single day. We love this transformation and will for years to come.

Sta Built did an excellent job with our entire backyard and side landscaping. We had it all..pavers, gas firepit for entertaining, a retaining wall the length of the side yard, a cozy corner for 2, raised planting beds, a mow strip and professional lighting front and back. The designer Zach spent 3 hours with us during a free initial consultation where he visually created the plan. The team was lead by Scott..( who has over 30 years of experience). Scott oversaw everything and even had great suggestions for improvements. The crew worked tirelessly through some of the worst weather the PNW could muster. The pics speak for themselves. We recommend Sta Built without reservation for your backyard remodel.

The Sta-Built team, led by Oscar, were professional in every aspect of our paver patio installation. They also installed roof water drain lines to our drain pipes and buried them underground away from the house. They paid close attention to details and completed this job beautifully with much care and expertise. Their services come with our highest recommendation. The pictures attached (with the boulders supporting one side) speak for themselves of the excellence and quality of their work.

I had a fantastic experience with everyone at Sta-Built. From design to completion. There were a couple issues (normal for construction projects) that Mark and his installers corrected quickly. Our retaining wall with built in seating, lighting, and steps are fantastic. They exceeded our expectations. Mark recommended a concrete contractor that we needed. They are great also. We will definitely continue our relationship with Sta-Built. I'm a construction and renovation project coordinator on the Navy base by trade. I've dealt with a lot of subcontractors and I can tell you that Mark is a rock star! Don't let him go!

I just want to say thank you to everyone at Stabuilt LLC for the amazing job they did transforming my backyard. From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Their crew was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, hardworking, and always on time. They treated my property with care, answered all of my questions, and were incredibly courteous and accommodating throughout the project. It was truly a pleasure having them work at my home. I also want to recognize their office staff. Every question I had and every change I requested was handled quickly and professionally, with a positive attitude and no pushback. It’s clear that great customer service is a priority for everyone on their team. It’s not often you find a company that delivers exactly what they promise, but Stabuilt LLC did just that. I couldn’t be happier with the results, and if I ever need this type of work again, they will be my first call. Thank you all for your hard work and for creating a backyard that I’ll enjoy for years to come!
