“My wife and I bought a 1940’s home in the heights with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bathrooms were small with 5’X8’ footprints. The Master included a shower, toilet, sink and a storage closet. The shower was 28”X30” and the sink was positioned across from the toilet so you could conveniently brush you teeth while going to the bathroom. The whole bathroom was covered with 4”X4” white subway tiles with light purple walls and original plumbing. It had one wall sconce and a window for lighting. We needed to make this bathroom more functional yet retain its 1940’s character. As it turned out the project was a total tear out with plumbing, electrical, wallboard, substructure and tile work required. After the tear down, the shower was turned sideways resulting in a 3’X5’ foot print, the toilet moved next to the shower and a new pedestal sink installed where the linen closet was. White subway tile (3”X6”) was used to finish the bathroom walls along with porcelain penny tiles for the floor and in the shower the tile was tilted diagonally to create a chevron pattern. Can lights and multiple electrical outlets were installed as well as a new wall light and ventilation fan. Dual shower heads and multi-function valves were installed along with a frameless shower door assembly. A new vinyl insulated window was also installed since it was integral to the shower. For storage, two 36”X42” kitchen cabinets were cut down to 6 inches deep and installed in the wall behind the door resulting in a 36”X 84” storage space. The walls were painted light gray. When I started the project, I wanted a company that could handle all aspects of the work. Since I had a deadline, I didn’t want to manage sub-contractors or deal with controversial re-work. Mikey and his crew went above and beyond my expectations. He call every morning to tell me what work would be done each day. His crews arrived on time and cleaned up before they left. There were beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house and Mikey and his crew laid down wood to protect the floors and covered the vents and furniture where dust would settle or creep into the AC system. What really impressed me is that we had two small corrections that need to be addressed after the walls were installed and painted and Mikey and his crew handled them quickly and efficiently. Additionally, the grout and paint finishes were near perfection. So the bottom line was that I wanted a contractor who could transform that small 5’X8’ footprint into a usable space. Mikey and his crew went above my expectations transformed my vision into reality. So it without hesitation that I highly recommend Home Remedy for any bathroom remodel that needs oversight from start to finish. Their crews are well versed in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, paint and tile installation. They are very professional and obviously take pride in their work.”

“We've used Home Remedy exclusively since discovering them back in 2017. We are in a unique position living in Jersey Village....most contractors don't want to deal with our Permit Office/Inspector. We are on par with entities like West U, Bellaire, South Houston, and Pasadena. Notorious for tough, by the book, inspectors. It's a double edged sword in that it protects the home owners, but limits who will work with us. That being said, Home Remedy rose to the occasion, and handled everything with minimal issue from the Permit Office. They did everything that was required, up front, and didn't try to cut corners or work under the radar. For that, they are our go to guys. The first project they did for us added two more bays to our two car garage. A year later we had them put up a huge open gabled patio cover. Most recently, we had them redo an interior room by closing off a wall opening. They added crown molding, baseboards, texture, and paint. Next week they are pulling a permit for a huge kitchen renovation. We are opening two walls and gutting the existing kitchen. They will be doing everything. Structural beams, cabinets, flooring, drywall, electrical, plumbing, etc Bottom line, I wholeheartedly trust these guys, and they are truly a key component to helping us turn the house into a home.”

“When I called to have some follow-up work done they were rude and couldn’t be bothered. Not a good way to treat a returning customer.”

“The work was sloppy and I was not happy with the finished product. The finished product wasn't even viewed by Mike. Given the cost, I expected flawless work and it was crap.”
