An important component of Best Pick's yearly qualification process involves verifying licenses and insurance coverage. All Best Pick member companies must maintain valid general liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance (as required by state law), plus any state-mandated trade licenses.
General Liability and Workers' Compensation Insurance
Best Pick requires a valid certificate of insurance (COI) on file at all times to keep your phone lines connected. The company recommends contacting your insurance provider to add EverCommerce as a certificate holder on your policy. While optional, this arrangement enables Best Pick to independently verify coverage annually and receive notifications of policy changes or lapses.
Members should notify Best Pick immediately if their insurance coverage or provider changes during the policy year.
Required Trade Licenses
Best Pick only displays license information when states mandate it for specific service categories. For example, electrical licenses appear only for electricians. These licenses must remain current and valid for service continuity.
Members must submit copies of state-required trade licenses, including license numbers, which Best Pick verifies directly with state authorities. Any changes to trade licenses during the year require prompt notification.
Consequences of Lapses
A lapse in insurance coverage or trade licensure will initiate a phone line disconnection process. Best Pick contacts insurance agents and company representatives up to six times each via phone and email before disconnecting service.
