Ned did a Gutter Cleaning and they did an excellent job. They blew all debris from the entire roof, not just the area around the gutter. After going with Clearly Amazing a year ago which was a terrible experience, glad I returned to Ned. Very happy with the service.

Your people have always been courteous and efficient. However this visit they did not leave a hangtag or let me know when they were leaving. Later I found they have used my hose which was not a problem but it was not returned properly as they found it. There was damage to an azalea in the form of major limbs broken while maybe accidentally but the damage should have been reported to me. I was home during the service. Thank you for the opportunity to report.

WOW! I can’t believe a roofing contractor this good, this honest, this careful, this courteous, this professional, this experienced—not to mention, this reasonable—actually exists. But Gutterman Services of Sterling, VA, does, and if you need a new roof, you owe it to yourself to contact them. The turret roof on my Capitol Hill house was leaking badly, and Gutterman came to the rescue The Details: roofing bandits had persuaded an elderly previous owner to replace the original (and exceptionally durable) slate tiles on the turret roof with short-lived asphalt shingles—which were now rapidly disintegrating. I wanted to stop the leaks and restore the roof to its original historic condition as required by DC Historic District guidelines. Enter Harold Boosahda, Gutterman’s superb sales technician. He told me he could put new 150-year-lifespan slate tiles from the Buckingham quarry in Arvonia, VA (“Highest quality slate on Earth”) on my roof for a far more reasonable price than what other contractors I contacted were asking for far less durable synthetic materials. Even better: Gutterman stood by its work, offering me a 10-year workmanship warranty. I was impressed. Of the dozens of area roofers tracked by Consumers’ Checkbook, I couldn’t find another one with a 10-year warranty. The best other roofers offered me was 3 years—some only 1-year. And the contract: clear, fixed, clean, tight, and easy to understand. I appreciated this. So, I signed, and the project began. Enter Tony Riggs, Gutterman’s gifted slate roof expert. Leading a crew of consummate craftsmen, he replaced the disintegrating asphalt shingles, installed new Buckingham slate tiles of the type believed to have been used in 1896 on my Victorian-era turret roof and, most importantly, stopped the leaks! And that’s not all: he and his team did a marvelous job of restoring the roof. The slate looks terrific—perfect pattern, fit, overlap, and alignment, and the copper ridge caps beautifully accent and outline the rich blue-black handmade slate. What’s more, Tony—a true and talented artist—restored and reattached the finial ornament to the turret top in a manner that preserved its robust and authentic three-dimensional attitude. And, yes, at the end, neighbors commented not only on how beautiful they found the new turret roof but how thoroughly Tony’s team had hauled away debris and cleaned up the surrounding area. My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with our new Gutterman slate roof! UPDATE: No leaks since Tony installed our Turret Slate Roof Masterpiece. We also had Tony and his team of expert Gutterman craftsmen (led by the inimitable Sergio) apply a Gaco Silicone Roof Coating System to our weathered flat terne metal roof. Advantage: No costly tear-off of our existing roof (other roofers we consulted wanted to rip off our historic metal roof and sell us a brand new modern trending bitumen/asphalt roof--with all the environmental disadvantages of an asphalt product). Only Gutterman recommended Gaco silicone coating (with a 50-year warranty) as a means of preserving rather than trashing our historic metal roof -- just another example of why you should trust Gutterman with all your roofing requirements!

My experience: a job finished by Gutterman is a job done right. Gutterman replaced my siding and wrapped my word trim. Fabulous work, well caulked, looks sharp. Gutterman replaced my windows. Beautiful product, expertly installed, every detail seen to. Gutterman replaced my storm door. Another beautiful product and upgrade. Gutterman replaced my skylights. No more worries about leaks, work done and redone until perfect. Gutterman even helped with venting some attic fans that the last contractor had botched. I'm so thankful for a company where craftsmanship is a way of life that shows in everything they do. Oct, 2020 update: Gutterman Services power washed my home last week, leaving it looking as new as the day they installed our new windows, siding, gutters, and trim. Their professional staff explained the job before beginning, taking me around to house to understand my expectations and to discuss what to expect. After the work, they took me around the house again to show off what was done. It was everything I wanted! I always look to Gutterman first for work on my home because I have learned they do the job right the first time and stand behind their work when anything pops up. Thanks, Gutterman!

I have posted "no stars" since I have experienced the worst possible services. Due to a faulty gutter installation, my house incurred significant water damage. After repeated requests Ned corrected gutter problem but refused to honor the workmen guarantee claiming it was a Gutterman warranty issue and I would hear something. Several hundred dollars were spent repairing the damage. Ned refused to reimburse me and said Gutterman would follow-up. After repeated calls nothing was done. A photo of the damages is attached.
