I only received an email the next morning that it had been rescheduled. When it was rescheduled, the crew showed up after 5pm to start the work, but didn't finish. "I was beyond impressed with Texas Backyard Living / Texas Best Stain from start to finish. Jason was the project manager and of all the bids we received, he was the only one to additionally include several lower priced options; I noticed that all bids from other companies bid the most expensive choice only. It set the tone for a very honest and professional experience. Jason also went above and beyond working with the Dallas Permit Office to push for approval of the plan. Once work started, we had two crews, one for a new fence, led by Miguel, and a separate crew to build a new stain & stamp cement porch, led by Marcos. Both crews were on-time, professional, and did outstanding work. Thank you Miguel, Marcos, your respective teams, and Jason for leading the project from start to finish. "Bad Points: 2 day job turned into a 5 day job. They failed to take retaining wall into equation for support pole replacement. Sales told me that any damaged boards would be replaced before staining. Found 3 boards after staining that needed to be replaced. Had a large amount of rocks and broken concrete in my lawn that techs said they would not take from property. I expected lawn to be in as close condition as it was before work started. Techs spilled stain on retaining wall and grass by wall. Grass died and still has not recovered. Do not recall seeing any safety glasses or PPE on techs while spraying stain or using jackhammer on concrete. Good Points: They uphold to the quoted price, even with the additional labor needed to remove concrete. Techs did a really good job in staining fence. Looked brand new."

"I contacted Texas Best Stained based upon their partnership with the Allen Americans. I asked for some estimates from them and asked for some ideas to address an erosion issue on the side of the house. I felt a retaining wall would be needed. They came out an discussed options and showed me some examples. Their quote was within the range of another company I asked as well. We decided to go with Texas Best Stained and they quickly and professionally built the retaining wall. I was surprised at how much effort was put into it and how sturdy they built it. I have had lots of comments from neighbors on how nice it looks."

"Contractor did not discuss pulling a permit and started work without pulling one. City came by and stopped work until permit pulled. Then it was determined that the fence was in the easement. This was all the day before the big February freeze. I was without a fence for 2+ weeks and I have dogs which meant I was walking dogs in near 0 temperatures. I told the contractor that I was paying thousands of dollars for a fence so why would I be upset about paying $250 for a permit. Needless to say, I was not pleased and have certainly learned by lesson about getting the permit before work begins."

"Service was hit/miss due, some due to weather conditions. The salesperson was very responsive and we set up the contract quickly. The power washing went ok, but after that everything got delayed by up to 3 months (March to June) due to the weather. I recognize that the rainy and windy weather we had in the late spring and early summer made it difficult to have a stretch when the fence could dry properly before and after the rains. Communication with the dispatcher was pretty bad, as there were multiple no-shows due to weather, but I didn't get any notification. I believe that there were 3 main times that the fence/garage was worked on. 1. Initial staining - was VERY sloppy. Uneven coats, missed spots, sprayed over the steel hardware on one side of my yard, but didn't do the other half. Didn't get to the 2 garage doors. Was supposed to fix the hardware on the two fences but both were still crooked and didn't close correctly. 2. Second staining - sent a guy in to finish up the job, but there was so much touch-up that he was doing, it was difficult to fix. I had to remind him that the garage doors needed to be stained before he left. 3. Last guy - fixed everything. Was really good about hitting all items that weren't fixed before, including re-installing the hardware on the doors. Took care of all the missed spots and the end result of the fence and the garage doors is great. I'm basing my rating on the END result and I wished that they had sent the 3rd guy in the first place. Even though it took a long time, I am happy with the job and do appreciate that fact that they didn't try to jam the job onto a wet fence or windy day."

"I never hired a fence company before so I didn't know what to expect. They installed the fence post with nails rather than screws and in one day my dogs tore down the fence and broke out so I replaced them with screws myself. If you're going to replace someone's gate make it as wide as the original. The gate is so narrow I can't get my lawnmower thru it. The older gate was a foot wider."

"I DO NOT recommend this company. I was looking forward to doing business with them after reading some reviews and talking to the salesman. Unfortunately, what he told me was not what I got. First of all, neither worker spoke English. One spoke very little (about like I do Spanish) so communication was very difficult. I was told by the salesman the old posts would be dug up but instead, they just cut them off at ground level. I also told him I wanted the fence built so that I could add a gate driveway gate at a later date. I don't see how that is possible they way they built the fence. They also did not clean up very well. I am still picking up bits of concrete and nails. Finally, for some reason, they did not put a swing gate up when they built the fence. I waited for literally a close to a month for them to put the gate up. Every time I called, I was told the office manager was in a meeting and would have to wait for her to call me back. I kept being told some would come out but no one showed. When they finally did, the gate did not match the fence and I told them I wanted it fixed and on the part of the fence that is metal, the post were different heights. Once again, no one came out but the office manager very rudely told me I had to pay the last installment. I told her I would not until I was satisfied. She said I could not do that and I told her I sure could. She was extremely rude at best. She would not give me the name of the owner of the company or let me speak to him. Finally after about another month, a guy named Jorge, I believe, came out. He was very nice and good. He wanted to know why they had not leveled the posts when they installed them. He then evened them out. He also couldn't figure out why the others couldn't figure out how to level the gate. He simply took a section of fencing and cut the width to size and it was fine. All in all, it took close to 3 months to get my fence completed! When I do add a driveway gate, I will definitely use a different company."
