The HVAC service man was very professional and knowledgeable in his work. He was patient and did not rush his work. He explained to me the workings of air-conditioning, thoroughly cleaned our air conditioner unit, , educated me about the current condition of the system and addressed clearly what to look for regarding future maintenance. He was pleasant and friendly! Highly recommend his services.

This company does business the way a company should. I learned more about electrical during Vlad's visit than I ever thought I would. He saved me thousands of dollars in costly repairs that we're unnecessary or imminent with my current set up. Thank you so much! Update: they also have a great home care subscription. I've now signed up and they'll remind me when it's time to flush my instant hot water heater each year. They are great about educating on home maintenance, you can trust them and they'll track timing and remind you.

The technicians kept me informed every step of the way, explained what maintenance steps that I need to take, left me with all of the pertinent manuals, explained the warranties and even programmed my thermostat for me. "We moved into a new house and a few issues surfaced that needed to be addressed immediately. For a routing need, James was there within an hour and took good and quick care of the problem. We also discovered that we were having a problem with our back up sump pump system and Terry got there very quickly and a few days later he came back and put in a new back up system for us while we were out of town. Obviously that was quite necessary as being out of town we didn’t want to worry if there was a power failure in the neighborhood. We are very grateful to the good work of Ravinia Plumbing."

"Mike is an exceptional plumber. He did a fantastic job without any rework. He is exceptionally friendly and kept me advised of every portion of the work. He replaced all of the galvanized steel piping with copper. Recognizing that not having water available during this work can be very impactful, he was quick and adapted his work strategy to keep my downtime to an absolute minimum. He had water back online within 5 hours - I was quite impressed! When he had an apprentice working with him, he made sure he took the time to mentor the apprentice and did quality checking to ensure I will be satisfied."

Your plumber Charlie came and fixed the leak-did an air test-and I was able to call the gas co to turn the gas back on in the same day. Even though I wrote back to you to ask for the information, I still don't have it. Also, I thought your charges were pretty high. He was only here for 30 minutes, didn't fix anything and didn't use any parts. I was told the service fee would be $69. The invoice was for over $200."

"Contacted Ravinia to schedule an appointment for a hot water heater issue. Appointment was scheduled. Chris the technician came and worked diligently. There were issues with two water heaters and Chris was able to resolve one and get it working. He needed to return to the office and contact the manufacturer to try and resolve the other issue with a sensor. It has been well over a week and we have not heard back from Ravinia and the 2nd water heater is not working. The following Monday Ray was scheduled to perform an inspection/review. He also looked at the weather heaters."

"This is the second time in a row where the person who came was not helpful. The first time, the person came out and said I need a new thermostat. The problem was the shutoff that stops electricity to the unit because the device that collects and pumps out water was full. This time we mentioned that a part of the house is cold. The person said it’s because that part of the house is far away. We had someone else come out and adjust the airflow and now the house is warm throughout."

"What began as a fix to a shower-head leak ended up involving three of your plumbers, three of your trucks in front of my house at once (along with an SUV)—more problems discovered, wrong and/or wrong- sized parts sent twice from your office that necessitated replacements— if it could go wrong that Friday afternoon, it did! However, none of this was anyone’s fault and many people worked hard from two to six that day to get things fixed and turn the water on again. "Called Ravinia to check/replace a sump pump check valve. Noticed the pump sounded different during the operation as if it were pumping into a completely empty pipe. I suspected the check valve had failed and was leaking all the water above it in the discharge pipe back into the pit. The technician dismissed this concern saying that I was just worried since it had been raining and the pump was operating more frequently. The tech didn't check the valve, didn't check the discharge pipe, and didn't check the pump. All he did was knock on the pipe to show me (incorrectly) that the pipe was full of water. It wasn't, and I know this because I checked it myself. The pump continued to operate very frequently (without rain). I decided to remove the check valve myself to either confirm the tech's claim or to prove it had failed. Upon removal of the valve, I expected water to be released from the discharge pipe above the valve. However, no water was there - the pipe was empty. I checked the valve and confirmed it had failed. Every cycle, the pump was filling >10 feet of pipe which then returned right back into the pit. At this point I replaced the valve myself with a part bought from Lowe's. Total cost to me for the repair was less than $30, despite paying Ravinia $69 to do nothing and actually provide an incorrect diagnosis. I expect better from Ravinia."

"Not good. I got a quote on Yelp for sewer rodding. The actual price I ended up paying was over 5 times that amount!! Way too expensive to do business with this overpriced company. And the technician wasn’t thrilled about doing the work...acting like he’d rather be somewhere else. He didn’t present the newly revised pricing in a palatable manner. He had to call someone else in to help him, which drove up the cost. I was promised an email of the video from the sewer rodding and never received it. The guy we had two years ago gladly showed us the video while he was here, explained the process and walked us through everything. None of that happened this time. For what I paid, which was exorbitant, I did not receive quality service."

"Our furnace stopped working properly on March 14 or so. Ravinia Plumbing came out to look at it, replaced the filter, and gave us some advice on how to replace the filters more regularly. The furnace stopped working again that same night (or maybe it was the following night). Since then, Ravinia Plumbing has been out to our home four times (and a fifth visit is happening today) because the furnace continues to stop working in the middle of the night. Every time it's a different technician who comes, and a different story about what might be the problem. While I'm glad I'm not being charged for these follow-up visits, but I would much prefer that 1-2 visits would be enough to fix the furnace. This is now becoming an ongoing, weeks-long issue, where my wife and I have to wake up our kids (one is a baby) and schlep them to our in-laws' house in the middle of the night because we wake up to find the temperature in the house at 60° F and falling (it's 34 degrees outside as I write this). If I call a furnace repairman and pay $300, I expect the furnace to be repaired - not to have to live in uncertainty that on any given night, it may fail again."

"Leaky Kohler bathroom faucet after several cartridge changes. Estimate to replace faucet was for $319. I bought a new Kohler faucet. Per Mike, I called Kohler to ask how to repair it & they sent me new parts, so there was a choice to replace parts or install new faucet. Ravinia told me it was less expensive & viable to replace 'guts'. Cost of guts-replacement was approx $600 & faucet still has short-term leaks! For cost & function, I feel that the new Kohler faucets should have been installed instead."

"I scheduled Ravinia to review house plumbing. In particular I wanted the pumps (2) in one of my 2 sump pits to be assessed as they are aging. Danny from Ravinia reviewed this and agreed that the 2 pumps were at risk. He left a quote with me and I scheduled him back the next week. Danny returned and got right to work. 2 - 2.5 hours later he was pretty much finished. My expectations were easily exceeded. First Danny explained his solution and then he made it happen. The solution included the install of an alternator which automatically switches from one pump to the other and as such balances the work load. The prior configuration did not do this. Although there were 2 pumps, they did not alternate and therefore, one pump was overworked and the other hardly used. Now everything is in balance. Danny also made sure to write the date of installation on each PVC pipe attached to each pump. A nice and convenient touch. Danny also then demonstrated the solution which of course worked perfectly. I recently switched to Ravinia based on my daughter’s recommendation. I am very happy with this decision. Ravinia’s staff and field operations are very professional, explain things well, work efficiently, and treat their customers like no other. I highly recommend them."

"I had a great experience with Ravinia Plumbing from estimation to installation. I am impressed how the estimator had the whole installation figured out when he made an assessment of the site. The installation guys were great to work with. The electrician reviewed with me how they would install the outlet and the plumber let me know where he was at with the installation process any time I came down to the basement. It's not every day that you convert to a tankless water heater. I'm glad I hired Ravinia and would have no hesitation on recommending them to anyone else. After all, they were recommended to me from an old neighbor!"

"Andy diagnosed the sewer problem quickly and thoroughly - I was able to view the broken pipe through the camera. A detailed proposal followed. Scheduling was easy, and Andy along with Aiden resolved the issue. A difficult, potentially messy job, involving outside digging was accomplished, in the dead of winter, efficiently with a very tidy job site always. Everyone involved was extremely courteous (AC units needed to be moved which Ravinia also accomplished) and thorough, and I am very happy with the result"

The plumbers and HVAC personnel who came to our home were friendly and informative, each possessing excellent communication skills. The work was done efficiently, with an impressive system of back-up personnel and delivery systems to expedite the delivery of parts. Their service was thorough too, and the HVAC serviceman may have save us hundreds of dollars and a headache by noticing that our 18-year-old water heater had a slow leak and was ready to go. Another seviceman noticed that our ejector pump next to our utility room in the basement seem to be full and not operational. This observation may have saved us hundreds of dollars more in repair and restoration of our basement. The work was performed within hours of the problem, and was always followed up by friendly folks in the office, both dispatchers and billing. Ravinia also offered easy access for us to apply for 12-month 0% financing, which we did. I couldn't be more impressed with Ravinia in all aspects of their operation."

Technician claimed to have replaced circulation pump.... never informed of the needed repair and no evidence to their claim of said repair was provided. Was charged over $800 for for a technician to bleed airlines... Won’t be using Ravinia again."

"I always request Tad for yearly maintenance of our furnace, boiler and AC. This fall, only the furnace and boiler were serviced. The boiler is very old (our house was built in 1926 and most likely the original boiler) and Tad detected a CO leak in addition to a continuing decrease in efficiency. He let us know this was dangerous and strongly encouraged us to replace the boiler. Tad relayed this information to Ravinia and put us in touch with Jeff who provided us with an estimate. "I have no issue with the quality of service, but the prices charged for simple plumbing work was outrageous. Also, the work done on our furnaces was fine, but we received a real sales job about purchasing two new furnaces and air conditioning units when we really don't need them. We also got a cross-sell job from the HVAC technician to use Ravinia for electric and plumbing work. Frankly, all of that was off-putting and we are not likely to use Ravinia again. I think they try to sell you things you don't need."
