Magic Mountain Chimney Sweep was a phenomenal experience. Our project manager, Steve, was outstanding—attentive, detail-oriented, and always available to answer questions. During the planning phase Steve was extremely patient and helpful which made it a very positive experience. The entire team was professional, friendly, and accommodating. The four day demolition and construction was exceptionally, especially dealing with the extensive bat guano in the old fireplace and chimney cap replacement. The dry-stacked stone wall work was absolutely beautiful. We replaced our 32-year-old heatilator fireplace with a modern propane fireplace, and the results were fantastic as shown in the pictures. I highly recommend Magic Mountain for any chimney or fireplace installation needs. Our work was completed mid-June 2025.

Magic Mountain did roofline rebuilds of both of our chimneys. We are very happy with the final results, their price was the best out of multiple quotes, and they completed the job on budget. This was a challenging project, both because our house has a mixture of antique brick that is difficult to match, and also because there is a large tree close to one chimney. The final brick match looks excellent (see pictures), and the tree was preserved. The quality of the workmanship appears great so far. For the sake of transparency, there were communication issues early on in the project, mostly about the brick choice (they started the rebuild with a different brick choice from what we had requested). However, the owner Mike and the team went to great effort to fix the problem, including replacing the brick that had already been put up and instituting new company-wide procedures to improve communication around brick use so that issue does not happen in the future. We were ultimately extremely impressed with the company’s integrity and willingness to come to a fair solution, and we are very happy with the outcome of the two chimneys. Therefore, we would not hesitate to recommend Magic Mountain, and we will definitely pick them again should we have any future projects.

From the initial quote to the actual installation was only one week, and everything was delivered exactly on time as promised. They installed a wood-burning fireplace insert, and the entire job took less than three hours. The crew was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, extremely friendly, and professional—it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. "Our chimney needed a rebuild of the top, a new crown, work on the shoulders, and several other locations to be tuckpointed (i.e. for the mortar between the bricks to be ground out and new one inserted). Matt and his partner who came to give us the estimate were pleasant to work with and were professional. The crew who did the work itself was good too, however, they missed several spots that needed to be tuckpointed and didn’t insert enough mortar on one shoulder so it looks unfinished. We understand that it happens, it’s fine. However, we called the company to see if it can be fixed. Matt and his partner came out to take a look and said that the missed spots aren’t structural issues, just cosmetic, but that he’d check with his boss if someone could be sent out to fix it. His boss apparently declined. We’ve had other work done around our house and if someone missed something they always have come back out to fix it, so it is disappointing that that wasn’t the case with High’s chimney. Yes, they did the work. Yes, the did an OK job, but no it wasn’t perfect/to our 100% satisfaction and were surprised that the boss didn’t care enough to have the issues fixed to satisfy their customers."

"It was a long time ago—about a year-and-a-half ago. High's Chimney Service installed a stove and a chimney liner. I liked that they were fairly prompt to price the job, and come out and do exactly what I wanted. Nothing noteworthy. I was very concerned. I believe that this chimney gave me problems. I think it smoked and something happened to the liner about six times. And they had to return about six times to fix the problem. I was somewhat concerned when I called up about it. They told me to open the damper and let the thing burn out, and they would get back to me in about a week. So, it wasn't a good experience. I would grade the overall experience with a C. The quality of work was good, but the experience wasn't very good. I was very concerned. It seems to me that my house would have burned down, had I not been there when the flames came through the chimney. I would be very hesitant to recommend them because of their lackadaisical attitude and the lack of concern for my property."
