“Our fireplace was smoking after 40 years of not smoking. We had the chimney cleaned, but that did not stop the problem. Wade came over and asked us what had changed in the last year. The only thing we could think of was that two very large pine trees about 50 yards to the east of the chimney had been removed. His solution was to fabricate two inserts that fit between the top of the chimney and the chimney cap, presumably to account for the change in the air flow over the chimney caused by the loss of the pine trees. I'm still not sure why it worked, but it did, and we can now enjoy our fireplace with no smoke!”

“When they came to the house, we had speculated that there was an animal in the chimney. When he came to cap the chimney, we informed him of that. He verified that it did smell like a raccoon. He said that he looked up and down the chimney to make sure there were no animals, and assured us that there were no animals. During a party the next day, two baby raccoons opened the fireplace door and entered the room onto the fireplace mantle, where they were fortunately trapped behind the screen. When we contacted someone else about this, they said there was a shelf within the chimney where they could have been hiding, and I would expect someone who is a chimney professional to have been aware of this. When we called him two days later, he came out to get the raccoons, but said that he would have to let them go free on the premises. We opted instead for someone to come take the raccoons to another location, and when we told the Chim Chimney employee this, he showed a very bad attitude and become extremely rude.”
