Air Blue Heating & Cooling, Water Heater Replacement – Created More Problems Than It Solved We hired Air Blue Heating & Cooling to inspect and service our bathroom-closet water heater, which had not been maintained since the previous owners. The technician stated the unit was old with significant buildup and recommended replacement. No other options (such as cleaning or servicing) were discussed. After installation, we experienced multiple problems: - The new water heater is too large, and the closet door no longer closes. The technician knew this after installation and decided it was satisfactory, without considering a smaller unit. - Water pressure is significantly reduced, turning a normal shower into a weak, near gravity-fed trickle. - Hot water temperature is significantly lower than before where the maximum heat feels slightly above warm in the winter. - Hot water now takes much longer to heat up than it did with the old unit. Overall, this replacement resulted in worse performance than the original water heater, despite its age. The technician appeared focused on finishing the job quickly rather than ensuring proper fit, performance, or long-term usability. Air Blue Heating & Cooling’s motto is “Ultimate Comfort and Quality with a Modern Twist.” We cannot imagine how a door that won’t close, reduced water pressure, cooler water, and longer heat-up times equal ultimate comfort or quality. This experience guarantees we will not be returning customers.

Air Blue Heating and Cooling is an exceptional company. They came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. From start to finish, the customer service was stellar. Chris Lundquist is now our Dr. Bombay—-for those of us out there old enough to know the reference point! Chris took the time to explain every last detail to us. We never felt rushed or hurried. He went above and beyond and was a wealth of knowledge, understanding and patience. If you’re looking for an HVAC company that operates with integrity, honesty and is people oriented, look no further. They are simply the best.

As you can see from the photos, my old system was the original one installed in 2004 and was completely rusted and leaking water everywhere. After trying to troubleshoot the issues myself - unsuccessfully, I started shopping around with various local HVAC companies. Air Blue was one of the few that provided several different detailed options with very reasonable pricing. Everyone I interacted with at Air Blue (Debi, John, the installers) were cordial and professional from start to finish. The installers were on time as scheduled and finished removing my old furnace and condenser and installed the new ones within a single work day and left my home looking pristine when they were finished. My new system is working superbly and my wife and I couldn't be happier! There are tons of HVAC companies out there and it may seem like an impossible task to choose the right one. Definitely do your own research, but I highly and strongly recommend Air Blue for your HVAC service needs!

I’ve been looking for a reputable, honest HVAC tech for a long time. Other companies (especially big names in Chicagoland) have tried to upsell me. But I’m very thankful for the integrity of the Air Blue techs. Big thanks to Chris, who came out, looked at my system, and gave me the exact recommendations I needed (and told me what I didn’t need too). I will be calling again in the future. 👏🏼
