"Nothing but trouble with the insulation part of the job. After determining the lower attic did not have enough room for them to get in, they should have offered to discount the job instead of ripping off 20% of our new roof to do the reinsulation. That part of the roof had pink fiberglass insulation still in great shape and should have been left alone. Every day the insulation crew showed up, they sat in their truck in my driveway for 30 minutes before starting to work then took a 2 hour lunch each day. Had to get them back twice to fix issues with the insulation job."

"Guardian presents itself as the "you get what you pay for" option, meaning, by implication, they understand they are the more expensive option--sometimes substantially more--but by paying more, you should get more. More quality, better customer service, better cleanup, better outcomes. My experience this time with Guardian was mostly "pay more to pay more." It started with the scheduling. Guardian has an online scheduling portal where you set up an appointment date and time for an estimate on the type of service you are requesting. In my case, a roof replacement, which is the option I selected. Guardian then tried to call me three times while I was working, leaving voicemails asking for "more information" so they could schedule the appointment. Then they texted. I texted back asking what else they needed and they called *again*. When I was able to answer the final time, the "more information" they needed was to confirm what I had selected (roof replacement) and then ignore, completely, the scheduled time I had selected (not even mentioning it at all) and schedule according to their availability. Okay, fine. I didn't want a five thirty PM appointment on a Friday evening but it was apparently the soonest available. At the appointment time Guardian's rep initially impressed with a thorough inspection, including going into the attic and on the roof, making a video including with magnification of the shingles in problem spots. This was much more thorough than any other company who we contacted for a quote. Then came a lengthy hard sell with a presentation that honestly wasn't necessary at all (we already knew we needed to replace the roof). Two hours later he was still at my house, wanting to close the deal and sign then so he "wouldn't have to drive back out." He even wanted me to call my wife who was on vacation out of town to talk to her. I refused until he gave up. He repeatedly mentioned the "you get what you pay for" mantra and emphasized how clean they would leave things when they were done. We did have other companies quote. They were all much less than Guardian but also presented substantially worse, e.g. saying they didn't even need to come out and could just quote based on measurements from online resources. Ultimately we ended up believing the "you get what you pay for" and went with Guardian, electing for shingles even though now I regret that decision and feel like we were talked out of going metal by the representative. And guess what? The salesperson didn't need to drive all the way back out. We signed everything digitally. So that was a misrepresentation as part of a hard sell. The install itself seemed to go fine. The team impressed me on the first day by putting plastic sheeting down on the deck and all around the house to catch the demolition and broken pieces of the old roof. Then they didn't do that the second day, despite throwing more pieces down on the lawn and on the back deck (I have photos), which was an odd decision. The supervisor wanted to leave the trailer over the weekend in our driveway (he said they didn't have enough truck drivers), trapping my wife's car in the garage, but when I declined, he did come himself to haul it away and performed the inspection that night. He found issues and had his team come out to fix them the next day (a Saturday). He also used a magnet to pull up nails all around the house. However, he missed nine roofing nails and a large staple in the driveway itself, which my daughter and I found afterward (thankfully before driving my wife's car out of the garage). Nine nails on a short driveway isn't great. The "great clean up" also left a ton of insulation all over the yard and in the gutters which I had to clean up myself. I hope the roof ends up being quality in the long term to justify the high price Guardian commands. The scheduling, the hard sale with the over long stay, the poor cleanup after making such a big deal of it in the sales, the miss of those nails on the driveway... it all left a poor taste in my mouth. I ended up regretting not going with another company and going metal, and I should have listened to my gut. Sometimes when you pay more you just end up paying more."

The salesman, Joshua, promised that my beautiful gardens would be protected all around the house with plastic and a "really neat netting system that catches all the debris" but in reality there were two 3 foot strips of plastic and netting just near the dump trailer on the rip off day only. Hundreds of nails and shingles all over and more still being found 2 months later. I made the mistake of believing the salesman, based upon my previous great experience, and he pounced on me/us (my partner was also duped--and he is usually the one who does extensive research before a purchase). We should have read the contract--which was just boiler plate for Guardian's contractual protection; the only customized portion was a mostly non-quantified list of materials--before putting down a deposit. We were conned into lead boots for the cast-iron vents, and getting a new chimney cap--which was huge disaster of a project, taking way too much time and mess when just some minor tuck=pointing type repairs of cracks would have been sufficient. We were given no options for different levels of products--just go for the expensive. Which is great for your two companies and all the commission-based folks.I also should have been there when the project started, but since the start date was pushed off three days I had to meet a business obligation that I had put off trying to accommodate the project. If I had been here I would have stopped the project rather immediately for lack of promised protection of the yard, lack of communication (or ability to communicate with) Jorge the project leader, lack of any explanation at any time in any way of what exactly each stage of the project would entail.No, the gutters are not anchored to the ends of the roof beams as promised. No there wasn't just "a small amount" of dust and debris in the attic--the entire house and yard, inside and out was littered with nails and shingle debris and concrete dust invaded all the vents of the house as well as completely coating the exterior.The underlying shiplap of the roof, which had indeed been damaged by a previous shingling job by Home Depot 15 years ago, was rather completely further shattered especially in one area, even though the salesman promised that would not happen. But when it takes three power roof vents and four tries before you get it right, then there's bound to be a compromised support structure. So my partner provided Carlos with the solution--and the lumber--to make a rough box frame to attach the final power roof vent.Besides the extensive but temporary mess of roofing debris flying everywhere around the yard, there were also two roof vents that were supposed to be replaced but were missed and had to be added later, plus permanently cracked original bricks in the chimney and aluminum trim coil which is permanently damaged in one area. Most of the tar marks on the vinyl siding are now cleaned up, but I'm still finding more to clean off with fast orange cleaner. Gouges, however, will be permanent..And then there's the actual shingling material, which I am not confident is installed correctly. Most of the damaged roof line edges were cleaned up so at least the edge is straight,, but I just noticed yesterday that a few more of the high-rise ridge cap shingles are cracking, after quite a few had already been replaced.I supposedly had a 10% discount to begin with, as previous customer, but there were no line items in the proposal to compare pricing. (Guardian had a 10% special going on for anyone 2 weeks ago). The salesman said it would have been more than I paid in the end, according to "his notes", which we never saw, except for the Horrible experience from start to finish. No special supply line, just the local delivery company that everyone uses. I did get $2500 off after tense negotiations with general manager Jeff due to "lack of transparency" regarding the degree and amount of mess. Also, he did agree to replace the spark arrestor/flue cap, after originally refusing to. "The project was not inexpensive, but addressed a number of things related to the roof (chimney, gutters, sagging roof, etc.). The crew worked well and did nice work overall. There were a few minor hiccups, but things were quickly addressed and resolved by the foreperson. I'm not wild about their various departments, as it leads to some confusion on billing and stages of completion. If you've worked with them, you likely know what I'm referring to. I did appreciate the notices of crew deployment and most of the were accurate. We had one or two where we received a notice of someone coming and they did not or were delayed. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work and will see how things work through the first wet season."

"When spending the amount of money we spent on our roof with Guardian Roofing, communication between the homeowners and Guardian Roofing is a top priority, as is the quality of materials used that you paid for and the application of those materials. In this area Guardian fell flat with us as customers. The first two days of our reroofing job, there was no foreman on site. The roofers had questions for us, the homeowners, yet they spoke Spanish and we do not...we couldn't understand them nor they us, it was frustrating, we felt we had to monitor them "as on-site" foremen so we could answer any questions that may have had, but again communicating was very hard. One of the roofers did the best he could and used the translation app on his phone to try and explain what he was trying to convey to us. Our neighbor was with us when this happened and she asked us where the site foreman, I had to explain that I didn't know. It was not roofer's fault...Guardian promised when we signed the contract that there would be an on-site person each day for us to communicate with and there wasn't. And because of this communication gap, there was an error on day one that resulted in having to remove roofing material that had already been laid down. In the end, the job was completed and the roof looks nice...however, I am not 100 percent confident that the job or material were installed correctly because there was no one on-site to walk me through it as it was occurring...something I expected for the money I paid, and it was a lot."

"Drew obviously knows about roofing and is a very good salesman but there was miscommunication about where my roof leak was located with the tech, resulting in a delay. When the second roofer came out to complete the job, we found additional problems he said he would ask the office about quoting, but never did. Also, I was specifically told, when the job was quoted, that I was getting the roof sealant with my wash but not the moss treatment (I specifically clarified this point, which helped convince me to pay for the roof washing, which I felt was expensive and didn’t feel I needed). No sealant was in the work order and none was applied. I had to ask to add the roof repair to project—the repair was my primary reason for having you come out. It seemed it was more important to sell me a roof cleaning than fix my leak. Finally another reason I agreed to the wash was so the tech could inspect the attic for additional leaks after the washing (specifically requested this) but neither seemed to be aware of that when they arrived. The second tech inspected the area of repair after the wash."

I arrived home several weeks later to find half my roof torn off and a new estimate of over $8000. Rain was predicted by the end of the day. I had no other choice but to go ahead with it. Since then I've had several contractors who were familiar with that roof and the general consensus was the original recommendation and bid was unrealistic at the best and the repair was just throwing good money after bad and was very high. i had actually got a bid to have the entire roof replaced with better product for a little over the repair cost."

"Only real issue was with the level of communication. The agreement stated we "may" hear from the project supervisor for a pre-job conference, but this did not happen. It would have been helpful. Also, we were called the day before the job was scheduled to start and asked if it was OK if they started that day instead. That was fine, but the truck with materials arrived less than 10 minutes after the call. Clearly a decision had been made to move forward prior to talking to us.When the job was finished, we received no information on how final payment was to be made. I had to call to enquire about that. Then they called us three days later expressing concern they hadn't yet received payment - astonishing!The crew was awesome. The were very courteous and professional and kept us apprised of what was going on. They also cleaned after themselves at the end of each day. The work appeared to be of high quality.Definitely satisfied overall, but for as expensive as this project was, I would have expected a much higher level of professionalism from the project and office staff."

"I only know of the quality of your products because we have two homes on our property, and we roofed one of our homes using Guarding Roofing with the Owens Corning products aproximately 5 or 6 years ago, and our roof looks exactly the same as the day Guardian completed the roof. We have a lot of Rain and a lot of Wind where we live and after a couple of windstorms, I totally thought I would go outside the next day and find some of the roofing materials pulled off during the storm and on the ground but no, the roof looked great! It is because of this we hired Guarding Roofing to roof our second home on our property with the same materials. Guardian Roofing is not the least expensive roofing company out there, but we chose to go with them again because our initial experience was so great, and we knew the Owens Corning products were the products we wanted on our roof! I often think about when we move to Idaho and if we’ll need to roof a home there will I be so lucky to find another roofing company as good as Guardian Roofing!"

"We have a beautiful cedar shake roof that had a small and stubborn leak. Guardian Roofing did a thorough moisture testing inside to pinpoint the trouble area, and then analyzed our gutter system and skylight flashing on the exterior. They then did a proposal to remediate the situation. Their proposal was spot-on, and their price was competitive. The technicians, Aaron and Orlando, did the repairs carefully and correctly and took a ton of photos to show me how bad the problem areas were, and what they looked like after their repairs (three stories up). What I truly appreciate is the HONESTY and INTEGRITY of this team to not over-diagnose the situation and inflate the necessary repairs. Their work was performed in a highly professional manner. "1. I didn't receive the gutter that was described to me during the quoting process. I was told that I would be getting a 'peaked' gutter with an additional down spout to help drain the water from my roof. After the initial installation, I received a straight gutter with only one down spout. A second gutter was eventually installed but the 'peaked' gutter was never fixed. 2. I received moss cleaning of my roof and moss protection. During the moss cleaning, first thing the cleaner broke a ceramic plant potter on my front porch and did not notify me - just left the broken pieces in a pile. Then the cleaner sprayed the moss off of my roof and onto the side and roof of my neighbors house, including their bay window. I had to apologize to them for your company's bad work and had to have Guardian come out again to clean the side of their house and roof. After seeing this type of work, I would definitely NOT recommend Guardian to any of my friends for roof repair, gutter work, or moss removal."

"I’m not sure if I would refer a friend to guardian roofing. My initial contact with Stephen was great. He was thorough and explained the process well. I was informed that the anticipated wait for the roof replacement would be about 2-3 months but was assured that the roof would be patched immediately so no further damage was done. However after I signed the contract, I didn’t hear back from guardian. I called twice to follow up about the patch work and kind of had to hunt the company down to follow through. Then I was notified with one day notice that they would come out to the house. It was a week before the anticipated date but more notice would be appreciated. The work was more than initially thought and therefore it was $3000 more than quoted. I requested an itemized invoice for my records. Still haven’t received this. Also the day after the flat roof was installed there were lots of bubbles and this wasn’t explained from staff. Stephen even showed pictures of different colors of TPO roof and none had bubbles. Regarding clean up, we found 8 nails in the yard and broken pieces of plywood. I understand that some debris is expected but would expect a more thorough clean up."

"We've had Guardian out a few times to patch leaks in our roof over the years. Finally, we realized we needed to replace the whole roof. Guardian's sales rep talked over the different shingle options and how the installation would go. We decided to replace the gutters at the same time. It took three days total to do the work: two full days for the roof removal and replacement, one afternoon for gutter installation. The employees were prompt and efficient. They discovered an issue with a section of plywood and immediately spoke to us about it and what needed to be done (removal and replacement) and the extra costs. Once they were done, they cleaned up the job site well enough that it hardly looked as if anyone had been there. We've been very pleased with the workmanship and the company overall."

"I am being asked to rate a visit that was a tech arriving, making several phone calls, taking some photos of the work to be done (photos had already been taken twice before) and then he left. He never spoke a word to me so I don't know why work was not done or what the plan is. I was also not given any notice the evening before to expect a worker. It appears a phone call was received from a number that could be associated with them, but not their main number, and no message was left. The first I knew of it was an automated text that was sent saying a Guardian tech was on his way. He showed up almost 1.5 hour later. I had been on a short walk so was gone when he arrived. He was sitting in his vehicle and obviously on his phone so I got his attention to indicate I live here and was now home. He was on site for somewhere between 30-60 min. I didn't even know he was gone until I got a text asking me how my experience was. I have had other experiences with Guardian that have been positive so this is not their usual, but I am being asked about this visit only, so I am rating this visit only."

"Overall great experience. Justin answered all our questions during initial quoting process. I appreciated that they not only got on the roof, but also walked the attic. They also took pictures and video so we could see the problems with the current roof. During the install, the jobsite was kept very clean and the install crew was mindful of the property. They worked quickly and quality seems very good. I'm an architect and regularly walk construction sites, do punch walks, etc. and was really impressed with the safety, cleanliness, and care taken while the install was going on. My only feedback was in the information packet given, it talks about the Super Intendent coming to walk the job on day 1, however this didn't happen. They did come by on day 2 to walk with me and answer my questions. The info packet also mentions the Super walking after the job is complete and that also hasn't happened yet. It could still as he mentioned he would within the next couple weeks and we're almost at the 2 week mark since job completion. Not a big deal other than the packet mentions this is to be expected and I'm used to this in my line of work so know it's a good process to have when a job is completed. We're really happy with Guardian and would use them again."

"They were pretty professional with how they did things. The crew and salespeople were awesome in the sense that they gave us a lot of options. Because of COVID and all of those things changing, they worked hard to make sure I got what I needed. My installation was complicated because I had solar panels on my roof, so they had to coordinate with the company to remove them. Guardian usually gives only a timeframe, but they can't give a specific date for starting. Still, if I had missed that time, I would have had to wait until January for the solar company to come back to install the panels back on my roof. That means those 40 or 50 panels would have sat in my yard, and it would have been messy. Guardian coordinated nicely with my solar company. They came in on time and finished their work on time, so the solar company could come back and install my solar panels back on my roof. They worked on that weekend to accomplish the job by Monday because the solar company was scheduled to be here on a Tuesday. Usually, they are not under that kind of pressure. Guardian took care of it by sending two crews and working over the weekend. They completed everything nicely, so then the solar panel company came and did what they did."

"Stephanie was great, but the paperwork and the the discussion between State Farm and Guardian was not. State Farm didn't come through and I had to pay for it all. Guardian Roofing did all they could to make the insurance company to understand the issue, but not one penny came from the insurance company. It is very unsatisfying when something like that happens."

"Their maintenance department was behind schedule and service was delayed. I specifically asked that no service take place during a specific week knowing we would be out of town without cell service or Wi-Fi. Upon returning to cell service I had three voice mails and several emails trying to confirm service dates. Even though I did not respond service took place anyway during my absence leaving my daughter to deal with their service. While the results of the maintenance service was done well I am upset that work was completed on my home during a time that specially did not authorized the work."
