AVOID AAA! I had AAA installed a central AC unit back in July 2023 and my bill was almost $14k. The AC installation quality was definitely NOT AAA!!! Shortly after installation, I expressed concerns that the AC is not cool/cold for my house and my bedroom upstairs reach's 80F+ even with AC on. AAA came back and said nothing was wrong and even said oh maybe your builder should have installed 2 HVAC systems. I actually questioned their experience as the crew came out for an assessment based on my house sq footage and recommended this unit for my house and I was later told by another tech that the is AC unit is a bit small for my house.. unsure whether they were trying to sell some other unpopular units to their clients. Fast fwd, I hired another company for maintenance today and was told and shown that there were rust and water in my unit and the Inducer has a crack due to POOR gas pipe installation by AAA. Also, the tech told me AAA should have put in a bigger AC unit for my house instead of blaming I need another HVAC. Hence, AAA did not have experience staff to do initial assessment to determine AC BTU size and their installation was POORLY done!

I have been a long term customer for over ten years and have to say the service is going downhill lately. The technician they sent last time was nice but not very experienced. I felt she was answering my questions from something out of a handbook she just studied and memorized without getting to the actual point. She even tried to sell me something I have already had and was also installed by AAA. Besides, their new scheduling system sucks that they would only give a whole day window. I received multiple phone calls starting from 9 am telling me I am the next but when the time they actually were going to send someone my way was already late afternoon. The lady on the phone was nice enough to reschedule me to a day in the morning with a 2 hours window. I hope they can consider bringing back their old way of doing business.

Hi, I don't like leaving one star reviews but this was a horrible experience. I've used AAA/Southwest numerous times before, including a heater replacement in one of our homes. One of our homes that my parents live in needs a new heater. I called AAA to have someone come out for an estimate and was told it was okay if my dad was there since I'm working. He received a call from Cynthia in dispatch, from Southwest Heating, who said I needed to be there. She said if I'm not there they can't come out, even though I gave my dad permission to speak to the tech. I tried calling back, left a voicemail for her, responded to the text but never heard back for over an hour. I called the regular number and the appointment was canceled. I guess you need me there to talk about the heater but you don't need to let me know when you cancel an appointment? The following day, we decided to try again. My wife called to set up an appointment and confirmed with whom she spoke with that indeed, anyone over 18 can be home and the home owner not needed to be present. The tech showed up, told my father he can’t proceed if the home owner isn’t there. The tech called dispatch to confirm. I called back, asked what happened, I spoke with a lady who apologized and said sorry, and that she’ll call the tech and get the estimate done. Half hour later, dispatch texted me to call so I did. Spoke with someone who said that I needed to be there. I said this makes no sense since the day before I was told that wasn’t necessary, my wife this morning was told that wasn’t necessary, and when I called back this day was told not necessary. I even said they fixed the heater last winter without me being there. All I needed was an estimate for a new furnace. Nothing further. And they couldn’t provide that. A lot of miscommunication within the company and a lot of my time wasted. I’ve been a repeat customer and with three homes, you think they would care about return business as we’ve done a few services with them before, but no longer recommended. The four other companies that we got estimates for a new furnace with, I did not need to be there. They still spoke with my father and provided me with detailed estimates.

From the start of our initial service call to the installation AAA was incredibly professional, personable and courteous. Taylor the tech guy was very friendly and knowledgeable and not only explained the issues we were having but showed exactly why and how the issue originated. He made us feel comfortable with an uncomfortable reality, our 20+ year old AC and furnace needed replacing. Next came Jerome who couldn’t have been more professional and friendly. He walked us through the whole process, did an assessment and explained all the different options depending on our price point and needs. We never felt pressured or pushed into any particular direction. Two days after Taylor’s initial visit and Jerome’s assessment we had Binh and his team arrive exactly on time for the install. This couldn’t have went smoother as Binh was highly skilled and had all the supplies and help he needed to complete the job that afternoon, we couldn’t be more pleased. Still shocked by how quickly everything was analyzed, scoped and installed, I can’t recommend AAA highly enough, we are customers for life.

Maintenance is a critical element of ensuring your HVAC system works properly and lasts for a long time. For the past several years, I have had another company that rhymes with 'deacon' out to maintain my system. Every year, we do whatever they recommend to ensure it is in tip-top shape. So it came as a bit of a shock when it stopped working in late June (right when we were hitting 85 and 90 degree days). I have had that same company out for various jobs (plumbing, etc) with mixed results. Sometimes, I felt fine. Other times, I wondered if they were trying to sell me things I did not need. So, I decided to look for the top rated HVAC company and have them inspect the system. Corey came out to see if it could be repaired, and within 1 min, he noticed two things that were very disturbing: 1. He put a level on the system and noticed it was clearly not level (leaning both right and back). Corey explained that this causes the system to work much harder than necessary to push lubrication to the high side, which wears put the system faster. 2. The caps on the high and low side AC ports on the system were completely missing. These prevent coolant from leaking out of the system. When checked, the coolant was almost entirely gone. The system was fried. Corey provided me a range of options - least to most expensive and the pros/cons ranging from about $10K, up to $23K). NOTE: I had done a little homework before he came, and he confirmed what I had read online; 410a systems are going away in 2024. Come Jan 1 2025, new refrigerant is being used, and the new systems cost 35-45% MORE than the systems you can buy today!! So, in a way, the timing was a blessing; we chose the top of the line Daikin system. Why? Every other manufacturer plans obscolecence into their systems. Daikin systems are designed to last 30 years or more. I signed the paperwork, and within 24 hours, Binh came out along with Bryan and Murad from As You Wish Electric to install our system. System installed the next day, however, there was a small challenge in that the system was not switching to AC. That evening Brett came out to diagnose the problem (turns out it was something odd with how our old wiring was setup). Brett sent Nick out the next morning who was able to fix the issue. We love the new system - much quieter, uses less energy and even has a handy app where you can control all aspects of your system. I should highlight that AAA also offers 0% 12 month financing, to ease the burden of paying for the system. I was impressed by the consistency and professionalism of the entire AAA team. Would not have anyone else work on our HVAC in the future.
