“Everybody there is great; the only thing I have a complaint about is how much it cost. But they are great; they come when they say they are coming, they don't stand you up, they are clean, you feel safe with them, and you don't feel like they are going to do anything weird. Every time they come to do anything, they tell me what they are going to do. They try to work with my schedule; they are flexible, and they explain things. I really like them. They've done the toilet, they've done the drainage, originally hired them to help me get my oven put in, because I got a gas oven put in, and my house is not up to code, so they had to helped me get some stuff done that was not planned, and they were really cool about it. I paid for the connection and then for them doing all of that. I would grade them an A.”

“Their knowledge as well as their convenience to schedule. Typically, various vendors or contractors that come out, they give you this window ‘We'll be there in 6 hours.’ More or less, they said they were going to be there at that time and they did, and they were able to identify the problem the first time they came out. They were actually troubleshooting a leak in my kitchen due to a dishwasher failing, and previously I used them as well—when my oven wasn't properly working, and they were able to repair that as well. I would grade them an A. I would recommend them.”

“I've used Village for years, and I like them. I can tell you there was only one instance I was upset with them; it was the plumber, not the company. I would keep using them, their a great company. They are punctual, neat, clean up after themselves. They are just really easy people to work with; they try to accommodate their customers. Only had problems with one guy, who had a bad attitude, and they knew about it. I told them, and I haven't seen him since. I would grade them an A+. I would recommend them, and I do all the time.”

“Village Plumbing Home Services was phenomenal; they were great. My husband loved everything they did. They actually saved us a lot of money, and actually were very honest and upfront about what they needed to do. And the price needed; didn't try to pad the price and add additional things. We had a leak in our upstairs bathroom into our downstairs. They came and fixed it; they didn't have to cut through the wall and fixed it in a timely fashion. I would grade them an A+. I would definitely recommend them.”

“I liked everything about Village. They were the cleanest, neatest plumbers I've ever known; most plumbers trounce through your house and put dirt all over the place, and don't put shoe protectors on, getting the grime on your rug. But they were just polite and blend in with the atmosphere, and did not get everything all nasty. It was our plumbing out in the yard; it was a major job. I would grade them an A. I would gladly recommend them to anybody I know.”

“I needed them for a leak emergency that happened immediately after the hurricane Harvey. I couldn't find anybody, and I know of them because I've used them before. I had an impossible situation here, and even the manager of the company came out to help. And what was amazing was how even keeled that it got, in spite of the fact of all of the work from the hurricane, they were very pleasant the whole time. I would grade them an A+. I would recommend them.”

And I was surprised at the bill that they presented me with, so I can't say it was a pleasant encounter. He repaired the appliance; that part was good. It was just the price I was charged that I was unhappy with. They repaired a toilet, I would grade them an C-”

“Village Plumbing Home Services did the annual inspection. He showed up in a reasonable time frame. He was neat; he went about his business. He gave a very plausible explanation of his thinking. Over the years, they have done everything: plumbing, air conditioning, water heaters, heat. I would grade them an A-. They are pretty good with punctuality.”

“Village Home Services did fine. I've used them before. They show up when they say they're going to show up. They do their job. The one negative—which is what other plumbing companies are doing in Houston—is they're trying to be commission, and they're selling products that I don't want, and they're not the only one. So, I'm trying to find a plumber that doesn't do that, and I have found one. They've done plumbing before. They have checked out my air conditioner, which is the last thing they did here. From a physical, getting the work done, standpoint, I'd say they were A+. It's the selling standpoint where they're trying to do add-ons, and some of the add-ons, for example, one of the guys wanted to replace all my ducts, and I'm not going to do that. That house was built by a builder. I'm not saying that he's totally wrong, but I'm just not going to replace those ducts. They're trying to sell me a lot more than I need. I've gotten to the point where every time they come check on the air conditioner, they're trying to add something else, and I'm sick of it. I'd give them a B. I think they do an excellent job. For the quality of work, I have no problems. For the selling part, I have problems. The customer service is really pretty good. If I call, and say I need such and such; they usually respond pretty quickly. I don't have any complaints with that. They're very good with punctuality, and if they are late because the traffic in Houston is horrible, then they call and tell me they're going to be a little bit late. So, I don't have issues with that. They clean up their mess; they put on the shoe covers and all that. Village Plumbers, they're always good with what they do. I have no problems with their expertise; they know how to fix it. They get an A without costs, and I'd use them. I recommend them on their skill and their punctuality and stuff, but not on the costs. But I found a plumber who's a real plumber. He comes in, he does the work, he doesn't try to sell me anything, and he charges a fair amount.”

“Some parts were positive; mostly neutral, and some negative. I had a plumbing guy come and checking all the toilets and other stuff, and he really didn't do a good job. Some of the toilets still don't flush properly, and I would not like to have that gentleman come back again. This gentleman had not worked for me before; this was the first time I saw him. Other folks that came previously were fine, and I also had a fair amount of HVAC work done, and that work was done well; the trouble is now there is a much increased saturation that you can feel and hear in the bedroom, that I was not made aware of at the time. So, I was thinking about calling back Village Plumbing and seeing if they have anyone that know about saturation. This last visit, with these two things, I would grade them a C. The last plumbing episode, as I have explained—I would not give them a very good grade, other than that their work is OK. You have to be specific, I can't give them an overall, because you have a different set of problems. They answered the phone. That's depends on who they send out, they have some that are good, and some that are not so good.”

“I had some plumbing done for a dishwasher. Nothing stood out that I can remember, it's been a little while. Probably about a B experience. I had two guys come at two different times for different things. One guy was supposedly looking at the dishwasher, to see why it wasn't draining, and the other guy was supposed to be there for a leak. It seems like the first guy that showed up for the dishwasher didn't do anything, there was no need for him to be there. He opened up the dishwasher, and I want to say he might have taken out some, the little filter thing, rinsed it under the sink, placed it back and I got charged 85 dollars for that. So the second guy that showed up was pretty much the one that fixed my issue. He was the one that came in and he installed some line that went directly to my disposal unit. The first guy was not originally there for that, he was there to look and see why it was backing up, and why I was getting the smell in the dishwasher. If he would've said 'OK there's really nothing wrong,' and that was that then so be it. However, he made it seem like he did something, which wasn't the case. So that's why I gave them a B as far as their service, quality of service. If I had only had that first guy I would've gave them an A.”

“Overall, it was a positive experience. They did a repiping in my house and they also replaced the cast-iron sewer pipes that runs up underneath my house that connect to the city. I'd say they're probably a B. Greg was really good. Their punctuality was good. Cleanliness inside the house was good. When they had to dig underneath the house, they tore up my whole flowerbed, and then they kind of tucked the plants in. I have all this sand on top of the ground now. It looks nothing really like what it did before the started digging. It all could've been avoided. I don't know why they dug the whole out, then they waited over the weekend and then it started raining the next week. Had they started dealing with it at the time they were digging the whole out, I would've have had that issue.”

“They were supposed to clean a drain that I had clogged. They weren't able to identify the cause of the clogged drain which they said they would. The solution they'd said, ended up being about 6 or 7 times more expensive than I got somebody else to do it for. I'd grade them a D. The guy was nice, the guy was just fine, but the service just wasn't able to identify what he said he was, probably no fault of the person himself. And the price they quoted, they just may be that much more expensive than a person doing the same work. I didn't have a negative experience with the guy other than not being able to do what he told me he was going to do, but he was super nice about it.”

“I actually need them to come back out because the sink is still leaking. The work isn't holding up. First of all, the day after it was fixed, the handle came off and there was water everywhere. I had to take the day off from work, it took them all day to get here to fix it. It probably started about four in the morning, that's the time I was up, and then it took them all day. That was pretty bad you would think they would've sent somebody out right away to fix it, but they didn't. I need them to come back, I can probably judge the quality of work after it gets finished to completion, I can't really speak to that right now. Customer service is OK; I'd give it a D. When we had the problem it took them all day for them to come, but that's because of how they have their scheduling set up. They want the same person to come back and finish everything they started. There was really nothing to keep clean. I don't think I would recommend them not at all.”

“I'd say my experience was more neutral to negative. They were installing a kitchen faucet. First of all, I think they were overpriced for the amount of work that it took. I mean it took the guy about 2 minutes to install the faucet and I ended up paying half of what I paid for the faucet just to have it installed. Secondly, I read a bunch of reviews of this faucet online and the main complaint of this faucet is low pressure. Everyone online said the quickest fix was to take out a pressure valve in the faucet, so I asked the guy if he could do that, and he refused saying that he would ruin the faucet and he was worried about doing it. After he left I did it myself in two minutes, which after the amount I paid was a little irritating. I'd say they're a C. I also remember they cancelled a scheduled appointment on me as well before that due to them having so many emergencies.”

“I'm pleased with Village Plumbing. They've done more than one job. They fixed a couple of toilets and the sink, I think that's all we've had done. When you call them to schedule, they'll do it promptly. There was another group of people that I worked with for probably 2 years, but they got to the point where I couldn't count on them, so I fired them. I went to Village Plumbing and I'm happy with them now, I'd give them an A.”

“They did plumbing work, air conditioning work, and I had somebody fix my icemaker. I like the service. They sent three different people for that, at that time. The plumber came and installed my water heater then and I took out a little contract to have my heating and air conditioning checked seasonally. It was all great, but they were very good. Everybody was very professional and did their job, but I found them a little higher than most. That came a distance too, all the way from the city into Tomball. I'd say an A+. I would recommend them.”

“I would say it was a mostly positive experience. They installed a hot water heater. It wasn't horribly positive, but it wasn't negative. I would say a B+. We're not actually living there yet. The times we've gone there, the hot water seems to work but other than that, I really can't say much about it. I thought they tried to cross sell too much. They tried to sell us something, that was the only negative thing. Punctuality was good, no complaints. They were clean. It was the cross selling I didn't like, they're also a little bit high. We chose them because we really didn't know a lot about Houston, but they seem to be kind of high comparatively.”

“It  was an emergency call out for a clogged drain. It was actually more complicated than that, but that's essentially it. I was having them fix things that were backing up in my bathroom. They were very responsive when I called. They made sure I was very clear on what the charges were going to be, because it was an emergency after hours call out. They showed up exactly when they told me they would, and they got it done as quickly as they possibly could. They were very clean, very efficient, and in and out. I was very pleased. I'd probably give them an A. I still think it's too expensive. If price weren’t included, I would give them an A+.”

I was very pleased by the professionalism of the people who did the work. I think that they're a premium service provider in the central Houston area. I'm sure I could have found someone to do the same work for less money, but I probably wouldn't have been pleased with them. The main thing was they were able to respond that day. They recognized there was a genuine emergency and they were able to get to my house within four hours to do the work. I had used them for other plumbing jobs in my house in the past. Just from the people that answer the phone, I've gotten to know them, and the people who come out to do the job—they're professional and honest. They've always done a good job for us. They've done air conditioning for us and they fixed my dishwasher once. We've been customers with them for over ten years. I think we chose them because they're local to our area. “They charged us way too much money, and after a lot of haggling we got them to come down on the price but it was not a pleasant experience. They charged us probably 20 times the amount it should have been, so we will never use them again. We wanted them to fix a leak. The job was done properly. There was no issue with the work done. The problem was the price. They caught as at a desperate time, and they charged us way, way more than a similar project we'd done the previous year by a different plumbing company so we had something to compare it to. They did refund some of the money but we still think they overcharged us for the services performed. We'd used them before and it was basically a situation where we didn't have another plumber available and it was on a weekend. I was out of town and my husband took care of it. We had to take care of it right away because the water was leaking out in the yard and I think they took advantage of that. I would give them a B on the work.”

“The only issue I had was that I needed something overnight and I said first thing in the morning. I'm a fitness studio we open at 5 a.m. but their hours begin at 8:00a.m. but since they came and started work at 10 minutes to 8, I had to pay the overtime fee. I wasn't there because if I was I would have made them sit down for 10 minutes. the work was done on time. They had to fix a backup in the restroom. I would grade them a B.”

They've been around for a long time, yes I had to call them back and they responded well. I might refer them just depends on the issue, I would grade them a B.”

They did an overview of the whole house odds and ends. I have no idea my wife heard about them. If anyone asks I would tell them to use them. I would grade them an A.”

We've had them a couple of times, they fixed some toilets for us, they unclogged a shower drain, and then I think there was a leak for a dishwasher, we called them a few times. Their customer service has been good, I don't think I had to call them back. I would tell them what I told you and I would recommend them. I would grade them an A.”

“the fact that they were on time and they were very respectful and friendly. They were checking under neath the house, this is a big non profit organization so we had a problem with water dripping or something like that. So they went under the house and using the scope we didn't go with them because they were more than we could afford, they were very helpful in orienting us with the different options that we had. I would grade them an A.”

“I probably wouldn't call them for plumbing work, I guess. We had to have a large section of sewer line replaced. They gave us an estimate. The plumber was very explicit about the permitting requirements and what they would do. When it came time to actually do the work, he didn't want to meet the permitting requirements that he had laid out for us. Eventually they completed the job, but it was not a good experience. I would not hire them again. They had been out once before for us and they had also done appliance repair which has been fine. They're kind of in the neighborhood so it just seemed like a name I was familiar with. I would give them a C-.”

“They came out and quoted some work for me. The price was a little on the high end. That wasn't as much as the guys that came out. They appeared like they didn't totally agree on what the solution was. That was a little odd. The bigger issue was that they had to cut a small hole under my sink to diagnose what the issue was which is totally fine. They left and didn't even give me time to make a decision on whether I'm going to use Village Plumbing to fix this issue or not. I decided not to go with them. The guy said no problem and they'll come back out and cover the hole. He never got back to me. I had to call their direct line and they said they didn't know anything about it. It took like a week. It didn't seem like I was getting a direct response. The only completion of the job they did was the diagnostic and a few other things. It was difficult to get them to say sorry or whatever. I feel like I totally should have gotten total premier service even though I didn't choose them to do the larger piece of work. The sink was not draining. This happened over some holiday weekend. That was an issue. They didn't call me back. The next thing you know, days go by and you still haven't heard back from them. I would give them a D+ rating. The guys were overall relatively friendly. I definitely wouldn't use them again. They are high priced.”

“I talked to two different people who were out to do plumbing work before I ordered a hot water heater. They didn't indicate that there would be any kind of problem, so I ordered the appliance. When it arrived, I called up to get someone to come out and install it and they said 'Oh no, we don't install anything we don't sell you.' I spoke to several people about that and I could not get them to budge. I finally had to hire a plumber that my electrician used. I got them to refund the remainder of my annual contract that I had paid them not too long before that happened. I am pleased that they gave me a refund. I was extremely upset about the fact that I went to the trouble of talking to not one but two people who should have known. They represented themselves as master plumbers and should've known what the company's policy was. I've used them for years. I had one more experience with them that was bad. It was another hot water issue but it just needed to be drained. It was about four or five years old, somewhere in that neighborhood. The person who drained it told me that it was more than ten years old and needed to be replaced. Apparently he looked at my white hair and thought I wouldn't go up into the attic and look at the installation date on the tag. In other words, it was incorrect information which I knew and it was obvious to him because it was in plain sight. I did talk to the management at that point and told them I was unhappy with him. They sent somebody else out. This was two instances where I had a problem with them. They deserve somewhere between a C- and a D.”

“They came and I had a backed up toilet. They said they could find out what's going on and do a camera and that would be an extra few hundred dollars or something. I don't remember what it was. I said ok. The guy was really excited, went out to his truck, got the equipment, put it back in there and he said that he thinks he would have to auger it first because he can't see. I'm like 'Really?' I'm already thinking he doesn't know how to run the equipment. Then he couldn't tell me about what the result was or where the cause was. He told me there was a break and he couldn't tell me exactly where it was because he couldn't decipher what the noise was on the tuning instrument. He then told me that the only way to take care of that would be to tunnel under my floor and we discussed where he would do that. This was all very distressing to me that day, I will say. I think he made a call and he sent it to me by email or something. Somehow, I received an estimate from them that would be $10,000 to correct it, but they wouldn't be able to replace my patio where they would dig in. I called someone else, and they did the camera on two separate occasions and wrote up a report saying there was no break in there, and the lines in my house were completely fine. It was augured out, and that was it. I haven't had any problem since. I intend to follow up with Village Plumbing and I believe they need to pay me back my fee. Poor quality of service and work and I would never use them again.”

“I asked them to come out because I didn't have any heat. They came out two hours later. He went up into the attic and he took a look and he came back down and he said 'Well, the problem is you have some sort of little electric fuse that needs to be replaced.' I said 'Ok well, can you replace it?' He said yeah and that he needs to go to the store to go get it and he would be back in an hour but he could do that. When I asked him how much it was, he said it was almost 1,000 dollars. I thought that was pretty excessive so I called my husband and we talked on the phone and he talked to my husband on the phone. My husband and I both agreed that's a ridiculous amount of money. I went to my computer which was already open and looked it up. The fuse that he wanted to replace was 69 dollars. That was the proper fuse that went with our heater. 69 dollars for the fuse and 1,000 to repair it just seemed ridiculous. I said 'I think we're going to have to get another estimate.' He left. I called another company to come out to come out. He went up there and he said that there was no heat coming in. I had my cellphone and there was a text saying that people didn't have heat either and it turns out that heat had been off in our neighborhood and had been off for 14 hours or so. We didn't have any heat coming in and he was going to charge me 1,000 dollars to replace some little fuse and I thought that was the worst experience I've ever had with a service company.”

“The guy got out there to unplug two sinks in my house upstairs. I was at work, and I had asked for the earliest appointment so I could be there and they couldn't give me that, so I didn't get the appointment time I wanted. Then the guy said that my sink overflowed because my air conditioning was broken and my drip pan had overflowed and that's why my sink was overflowed. I told him 'No, the air conditioning is working fine. My father-in-law is an A/C contractor and I walked through all that with him before I called the plumber.' He insisted so he had the A/C guy come out to check and it turns out that it does work, no problems there. To unplug two sinks was hundreds of dollars, so I think I way overpaid because the guy didn't know what he was talking about. They fixed the problem, ultimately. Work quality was not my issue but misdiagnosing the problem and hammering me on the price because my wife wasn't there and I hurt his feelings. The service was bad. The work was good. The price was bad. I would give them a D rating.”

“I thought it was terribly expensive for what needed to be done, they had to take a large section of pipe, where there was a little spring leak or something and it was almost $900 so I was not happy about that, they said it was their policy to take out that much pipe anytime there is a small leak, I was glad that they came out but I thought that the price was pretty steep. I think it was fine, we haven't any problems. It was a pipe in the attic, so it was fresh water. The clean up looked pretty good, I moved a few things back in place but it wasn't a big deal. I would grade them a B. If your asking me strictly about the quality of work I would say A”

“They've come several times. I like their promptness, they resolved a couple of problems for us with our sink. Yes I think it was a drainage issue, it took about 30 minutes. I would tell a friend that they are expensive, overall we had a relatively positive experience but they did misdiagnosis one of our issues. We had them look at our frig that had a leak but they misdiagnosed it and delayed getting our new frig installed. I would grade them a B. Overall I think they are very prompt and the men that they send are polite and courteous. We spoke to someone directly, they dispatched the wrong person so it's not like everything run seamlessly and I feel like you pay premium for their promptness.”
