“They were very good in responding. I’ve hired them a few times. I did a service package because I bought the house and they had been servicing the house before. I found that some of the people they sent out were not very experienced and other people that had actually had experience with houses were very good. The first time I had a guy come out and he gave me an estimate that was really super high in comparison to others. He had to do just some minor repairs to the toilet or sink or something like that and the work that they did was fine. They gave me some estimates of other projects and they were really super high when compared to some other quotes that I got. I had a bad experience when my boiler wasn’t working on anther property and they came out. They fixed it and they charged me but the next day the thing broke again. I had just spent like $1,2 fixing it and then I was being told I needed a new boiler. I feel liked they raped me and between the two places I think I spent like $2 and then they told me that I needed a new boiler and the boiler would cost like $1,. Then they told me the other boiler needed $1,. So then I got my old plumber because he had been busy. The good thing about Cranney is that they come and if you buy the service package they come right away and they deal with the situation. The bad thing is you could get someone that is inexperienced. The one guy that fixed the boiler seemed to know what was going on but he didn’t really have that much experience with them. He misdiagnosed the one boiler and said I need two other parts that if I wanted to save the boiler it would cost me another $1,5. My plumber came by and said he misdiagnosed that and it only cost $4. He replaced the overflow water tank. I saved myself a lot of money on that one and that boiler is still working. The other boiler that he said he didn’t know if it was worth throwing the money into it because he was honest in the sense that he said I could put $1,5 into it but he didn’t know if that was going to fix the problem. He told me I could put the money into it and still need a new boiler into it afterwards. So I didn’t do anything and I called my other plumber and he told me to absolutely not put any money into it. He did a much thorough and better diagnostic test than the other guy did and told me that the two things that he said were wrong with it were not wrong with it but there were some other issues that were wrong with it that could not be replaced. Therefore, my other plumber suggested I go with a different one and he also gave me a $3, better price on the same unit that the other guy wanted $1, for and they also told me about the mass save program so I got an additional $1,5 back, and these guys didn’t tell me anything about that. in the long run, I don’t know if it’s just experience that is lacking because my plumber has been in business for 3 years and the guys that they have are fairly new. They have been plumbers for five years. There was one guy that came though, and he had serviced the other house and done a lot of work on it and he seemed to be the one that I wanted to request anytime he came over to the house. He had been servicing the house for two years before I bought it and he had done a lot of work on it so obviously he knew the building much better than the other guy that they sent over that didn’t know anything about it. I will only use Cranney as a last resort on an emergency call because I paid for the service for one year. Will I get them again next year? I don’t know but my plumber does not do emergency calls. I could call my plumber in the middle of the night but he would charge me $25 just to go out there, which is really high. He services all of the other things that I’ve put into the other building. I would only use Cranney for emergency service, I guess, and hope that they could solve the issue and I could get by without spending a fortune but I don’t know. I would probably give them a C+.”

“I signed up again. I have a yearly membership. They put in a brand new toilet. They came a second time, another time later. I had a hot water tank, a pipe let go and they had to replace that. I thought it was reasonable and they came right away, which was wonderful. Both workers were two different guys at different times and they were absolutely wonderful. The first toilet had damage and the fella didn't realize until he almost had it completely installed. Then he saw it and said it would be a little bit longer and he called and they brought another one within a half hour or so. I'd give them an A. I just sent them a check for another year's membership. I would recommend them; I have already.”
“It was great. This last time, they did electrical work and plumbing. They know their stuff. They do a good job. It was excellent. We had two different faucets that we had to replace. We had to compare the two and figure out which one was better and the guy explained it to me so I appreciate that. The plumber was great. He had to go and do something else and then come back, but it all got done in a single day and he did a fine job. He had something with him. The electrical they do is great. Mike and Skinner have come a few times and they're a wonderful team. They do great work. I'd give them an A overall. I'd be very likely to recommend them.”

“They installed a faucet, and within the amount of time of the warranty, the brand-new faucet, started leaking and really looked like it was very poor quality. I called them, and they came out. It was under warranty, so they took it out and put a new faucet in. We were pleased. We told them we weren't happy with the one they put in, but in addition to that, it was very faulty and leaking. I think the day that we had to call them we couldn't even turn on the old faucet we had; it was just pouring out water. I would say they’re an A.”
“They did exactly what they said they would do, and they told me up front how much it would cost. I was just very pleased. I had two things done. I had electrical work done, I had an overflow in my cellar, and they took care of that. It was a plugged sewer pipe that they took care of. I heard about them because one of my friends had some work done by them. I'm pleased with their work. I'm going to say A- because they try to talk you into a service contract, and as a retired person, paying $20 a month is a little bit more than I can swing. Then for that $20 a month, you get a certain percentage off your next service, but the problem is I didn't use the service, and so I'm paying $20 a month basically for nothing. That was the downside. That was my fault, though, in a way, because I bought into it. I have since gotten out of it, but I think they should just offer it across the board. Once you pay your bill, they should be happy to get their money. If you recommend them or something, then they will give you some kind of credit or something.”
