“It has been almost 3 years since installation of our whole house generator. The installation was outstanding. No issues since then with generator not working when needed. However, there were issues related to wi-fi connections with my computer but they were ultimately resolved by one of the electricians. He was patience with us to get the issue resolved. Installation of a whole house generator (22KW) is not cheap. So be prepared to pay up and this includes installation of tank plus cost of propane (400 gallaon tank) which is not installed by electricians. Communications with the staff was excellent.”

“I called to get service for my Briggs and Stratton home generator. Two guys arrived as scheduled (several days out from when I called), took a quick look and told me, "we really don't service Briggs and Stratton generators. You're going to need to get someone else out to work on that. That sure would have been nice to know when I called and said I need service on my Briggs and Stratton generator!! Also, "we still have to charge you for the service call ... " I ended up renewing my general service contract so will use it for my HVAC standard servicing, but this is not a good look.”

“Our attic exhaust fan died in the middle of summer and none of the local Ashburn companies were prepared to replace it. Then Home Advisor put us on to John Nugent and Sons. From the very first phone call with them we knew they would be good! Richard came out and gave us an estimate. He was on-time, very pleasant and professional. The day of the installation Richard was there as the installer and the company actually sent roofers to the job to make sure that the roof shingles around the fan were re-installed correctly. The fan’s running as it should and we are quite happy!”

“I purchased two HVAC systems from John. I needed a good quality large unit for upstairs; I have a fairly large house. The first unit was the upstairs unit. We were having trouble cooling the upstairs, so they sold me a huge unit. It turns out it was not cooling the upstairs. It was the ductwork that was not cooling it, and it did not matter what they put upstairs, it would only cool the master bedroom suite. They did not tell us that even though they had been upstairs and knew it. When they went to replace our downstairs they wanted to sell us the same kind of unit because it was what we had upstairs as well when a regular unit would have been just as good. I felt like they were not honest with me. They were trying to get away with something. They were trying to scam me. Also, when they came to do the work, they ruined my carpet. They brought in a bunch of mud and debris. I had to call John Nugent & Sons and inform them that their people were not careful. Usually, people put booties on their feet, so they had to come back and clean my carpet. It was not a good experience at all. I've had to renew contracts with them for maintenance because they hold the service contracts for both units. I feel like the hold me hostage.”

“Have had above average and excellent service for years, with one exception. An hour of going through my invoices did not give me a name - (of the individual I never want to see inside my home again). I asked him to fill in a "Heat Pump Jobsite Information Sheet" as provided in Rheem/Ruud. He did and Rheem/Ruud said all the values were as wanted. Within weeks one heat pump is completely out of Freon and with no sign of an actual leak. Perhaps that is why I cannot find an actual invoice for routine service. The next service man (tech #203) identified the problem, charged the system and it has worked fine ever since, even through a hot summer. A system which has run fine for years does not suddenly go dead a few weeks after it was checked and declared fully operational. The same system has been fine ever since. I cannot prove it but a system should not turn into a paperweight in only weeks. He must have left a valve open or not tightly closed. I do not want to ever see this service man again. The problem was either deliberate or accidental sabotage or just plain carelessness. Since I pay for an annual contract, it appears nothing is provided on paper for routine service and I cannot give a name.”
