"operations / permitting lost the plot in following up with Prince William County for an important 6 week period/ delay. Granted PWC appears to be known as a pain however I had to chase multiple times and escalate high up the chain to get the attention this needed. I was also not alerted sufficiently up front as to a significant 6 month delay in getting Tesla batteries and at the time of purchase there wasn't an alternative. Again upper Mgmt and sales team handled well but only after multiple escalations"

"They were very clear through the entire process of the steps that were being taken. It was organized and clear process. Even though it was lengthy at times, they managed my expectations through that. Things were well documented. They produced a very thorough package. They had to get a permit through the city. The people that did the installation were done in a day or a little more than a day. They worked very efficiently. It was the following year, for whatever reason it took a long to present because we got an intense rain storm. We did have a leak, it was in the most convenient place for a leak. They came out promptly and found there was some sealant missing. Minor issues were promptly resolved. They could have done a little better job picking up scraps and trash on the roof like the clips that hold the wires. I saw them when I went up and did maintenance on the chimney. A little more attention to detail would be all they need there. The system has worked well this summer. Everybody around here is complaining about the cost of electricity going up 20% and I was being billed $9, which is the minimum you can be charged. The return on investment point of view, I have been very pleased."

"Our technician, Scott Grams, who was the original person who came out, was an engineering specialist. He guided us and gave us information. He was very good. All the technicians were very competent. The only negatives, in general, were arranging the time for them to come and the inspections that had to be completed. We were satisfied. It is now completed, and they came back when something needed to be repaired. That was taken care of. Everything was good. They were all very competent. It just takes time to schedule them, for the supplies, and for the technicians to come. That's the main negative for any solar company. It's not going to be done in a short time."

"I had two concerns that I passed on to Daniel Stone, my point of contact. There was not a clear description at the beginning of the process about the steps of the process and what would happen and when. I felt that I was driving in a rainstorm without windshield wipers. That was uncomfortable for me. There should have been an on-site visit to talk about where the equipment would be placed at the house. There was no discussion about where the equipment would be. When the crew came to install the equipment, the guy who came to supervise the crew was not conversational. He was not willing to talk about where the equipment would go. I asked Daniel about this several times and he sent me a sketch of where it may go on the house. I showed it to the installer and that is where he put it. There should have been a site visit where someone would talk to me about where the equipment would go on the house. I thought both of these issues were unacceptable. I left it a three because I think the installation was done well. Those two concerns could have made them have a better rating."

They chopped at my roof so badly that nails and screws feel off my ceiling drywall and onto the ground. I'm very disappointed that the soonest someone can come out is 1/22. We been operational for around 60 days or less. I would expect to get installation issue support sooner than 30 days. I would be open to update this rating once all issues are resolved."

"Great in the beginning, great getting almost free energy, great staff. The not so great, about half of my microconverters were damaged during a storm (I did not know that was a thing) and it took over 2 months for them to be replaced. I thought using a local solar company would mean not having to worry about delays in repair/replacement, I was wrong. 2 months and updates were few and far between. I had to call to get updates, my repair date was changed and I did not know until I called because the technicians did not show up. Communication was not the best, however the people were super friendly and apologetic. 2 months of missing out on some very sunny days during the summer was very disappointing."

The schedulers kept us fully informated. The installation team was wonderful. They had to come back to finish the EV installation that we also purchased although we don't have a plug-in car yet, but it made sense to do it now since we know our next car will be one. Finally, they took care of all of the licensiong and coordination with our power company, which occurred while we were on vacation. It was an awesome day when we got the call from Solar Energy World to "Turn it on" and we began to generate power!"

This concern was voiced to the salesman several times, and he could have described the system used on the roof—it could have been handled better. At the end of the contracting process, I had made it clear to the salesperson several times that we probably would want to install more panels than needed for our electrical consumption. We talked about 21 panels, and he called, saying the 21 panels would exceed our consumption, but we could have up to 29 panels. I told him I would think about it, and then I told him we wanted to go to 25 panels. My problem is that the marginal price for the additional panels is more than the average price of the original panels. I feel the price was inflated on the last few panels because they knew I wanted them."

"Let me first say, I am not one to write reviews. However, based on my experience with the forward facing Solar Energy World sales/project lead and service department, I feel compelled to do so. There were bright spots in my experience that I hope to highlight in my review, such as the installation crew's professionalism and thoughtful responses from the engineering team. I also intend to provide some recommendations that would have improved my experience, mainly simple acknowledgement of inquires, timely communication of status requests, and data/documentation informed answers. Generally, the customer service has been poor post-install. Simple questions regarding how the solar and monitoring systems operate once installed have been met with short or incomplete explanations from our Solar Analyst and the Monitoring department. It takes numerous attempts to gain sufficient and complete answers to clearly articulated questions, often requiring direct communications with the engineering team or constant follow ups. Here are the most egregious examples: 1) After installation, it was noticed that GoodWe inverters were installed on our system rather than what was stated on our contract, Solar Edge. Instead of providing a straight forward explanation with appropriate documentation, which essentially ended up being an error by the Sales Associate, it took nearly a month of constant requests and a series of tepid responses from our Sales Associate to resolve the discrepancy. Finally, I had to reach out directly to the design engineer to get a technical explanation, and then personally review the engineering drawings (and associated revision dates) to ensure the original system was based on GoodWe inverters and that we weren't being given subpar equipment. The coy and delayed responses made the discrepancy seem intentional and dishonest, rather than in error, which was the case. This should have been handled promptly, particularly since contractually SEW was obligated to provide us that particular brand of inventor and was therefore in breach. 2) Since the system has been in operation, one of our inverters has been periodically throwing a fault. This should not be happening on a brand new system. Several requests have been made to the service department and our analyst over the past 3 weeks. I was told someone was going to get me on the service schedule. I have yet to be contacted and the faults keep randomly occurring. This is extremely frustrating given the system just went operational and is not performing as designed or reliably."
