"Working with Rutter was a great experience in a sea of lukewarm to even terrible experiences we've had with various trades throughout our home renovation. Rutter was not the least expensive option but we feel like we got a great value for what we spent and would choose Rutter again in a heartbeat. Every step of the process from the initial sales visit through our final payment went smoothly and was handled efficiently and professionally. Our project stretched out over two years from when we signed the contract and made the deposit to when we finally finished work due to delays on our end and all of the Rutter staff took great care of us for that entire time. "Your salesman Horace is fantastic, he could sell you a paper bag! When you get to the next step and the crew shows up and you specifically asked for the "A" crew and you receive the "D" crew, things go way down hill from there. The crew broke branches off my dogwood, flattened my bushes, destroyed by brand new deck. It was a nightmare. Granted Rutter paid to replace my deck but still what they don't understand if all the TIME & FRUSTRATION you the homeowner goes through again to accomplish this especially when your home was perfect, before you needed a new roof. Stinks."

"When I hired Rutter I assumed it was a family business. The roofers were subcontractors who sat in their van and smoked for quite a bit of time. It was quite unsightly for the neighbors and dirty with the cigarette butts in front of the house. The siding was also subcontracted. When the siding was being worked on in the front of the house, the workers failed to report to me, or the job foreman, that the roof was in serious need of attention. Because of this I had a subsequent leak in the front of the house. I contacted three other roofers to give me a bid on the roof and all three stated that the issue was obvious and should have been communicated to me. It would have been professionally responsible for them to just report the issue. Because it wasn’t reported, I have incurred a roofing bill that is almost as much as the Rutter bill. It would have been more cost effective to add the job onto the initial job."

"Overall, I think we were satisfied with the final job. Getting things scheduled was a challenge but when the job started things mostly went well. The actual crew did a great job and even seemed to be having a good time while they worked. The final result seems to be fine, and clean-up went mostly well. One concern is that at the beginning of the work another expert(?) showed up and he and the crew chief spent a bunch of time reviewing the work outlined in the sales plan. They said we somehow might need a different/added approach for our front roof and that change from the proposal would only cost us $$$ more. That whole interaction seemed like a sales spiel, that it was part of the plan and their job to come up with something that would add to the overall project cost (and income for Rutter Roofing). The original inspection and plan of work seemed to be very complete and professional - this add-on stuff seemed much more like a guess and just to get more money. And in the end, that add-on part for the front roof didn't happen. Although then we somehow did need some rather expensive plywood panel replacements on the back roof part that of course we could not question... Bottom line is that the guys in the crew were great, did a very good job, and the outcome seems to be well done."

Rutter Roofing is what you hope for when hiring someone to do work for you… especially when they’ll be at your home AND you care about the details / have a specific “look” you’re going for. We had them put new siding, gutters, downspouts, and aluminum capping on our home. Greg Grosso went above and beyond helping us achieve the design we wanted in a super tough climate where material availability is constantly changing. And our assigned PM during install was also very sensitive to how we wanted things to look and made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted before cleaning up and closing out the job. I highly recommend Rutter Roofing."

"Alex K. was a first rate project manager. We were able to work with him to get an accurate quote and fully understand the costs associated with the work done to our house. He created clear expectations on cost, materials, and the timeline for the work.Shawn was great as a site/crew manager. He had an answer to every question, explained the scope of the work each day, and was present at the house at least once (often twice) per day to make sure the site looked clean and to inspect the quality of the work. Milton, the crew chief, clearly took pride in his work. The house looks completely different with the Hardie Siding replacing the stucco. It looks great, and we don't have to worry about what was lurking behind the stucco anymore. People drive by and slow/stop to look at the house. It is nice to have the benefit of a brand new look as well as the piece of mind coming from great craftsmanship and quality product."

"I needed a few shingles replaced. When I called Rutter they came quickly as arranged. The estimate was sent promptly. Work was done efficiently and well."

"I needed a roofer because of an immediate leak I had in my master bedroom ceiling after a really bad rainstorm. I called Rutter Roofing because of advertisement I heard on a trusted radio station. I found that they do not effectively communicate regarding anything about about the job. When calling to schedule my appointment, if I didn't get a person and had to leave a message, they never called back. So I had to repeatedly call to finally get someone. That person didn't do the scheduling and was told me someone else would be getting back to me to schedule but they couldn't tell me how long it would take to hear from them. Never heard back so after a few days, I called again and complained and finally got the scheduling person. But they couldn't give me a timeframe, best they could do was that I was on the schedule and it would be "several weeks" before they could come out. The day before, I got a call from the roofer that he would be out the next day. A little more notice would be nice so I could move things around in my schedule. First thing roofers told me just based on age of the house without even inspecting the roof is that I should consider getting a new rood immediately. I explained that I needed immediate remediation of a leak in a specific area. I showed the damage to the master bedroom ceiling so they could see where the potential leak was and all they did was replace a few shingles. Next bad rainstorm the leak in my master bedroom was worse causing thousands of dollars worth of damage. So Rutter Roofing didn't find the problem and didn't fix the problem. After that experience, I called another roofing company that immediately found the issue and resolved it and when I asked them about getting a new roof, they told me after inspecting it, that I would be good for anther 8-10 years before having to consider a replacement"
