They needed to let us know. They came two hours early without a phone call to let us know they were on their way and we were not prepared for them. “Sales staff and pre installation briefing was great. Actual installation for the most part was fine. It seemed like the crew was frustrated when it came to fitting the slider. One installer actually chipped a small area of stucco off the exterior wall. He never mentioned the damage. The slider was better fit as result of a warranty visit. A old window shattered while being carried by one person. This happened adjacent to our swimming pool. Fortunately he was uninjured. But there should have been two people handling the glass as it was significant in size. We’re uncertain if any shattered glass actually went in the pool. However it took us several days to clear the decking of shards of glass fragments. Realizing the caulking they used had not set up at that point there should be a follow up provision to have a crew of window cleaners attend the windows a few days after installation. We’re still working cleaning glass.”

“I was happy with almost everything up until the end. I still don't know how Power does business, but the day they finished the job, they withdrew the money out of my checking even though they knew they were taking too much, and I have to wait. The quality control person said we both had to be here, and all he wanted was to upgrade to another project. It was a waste of time.”

“Scheduled to be completed in two days but took four days. Seamless gutters were promised and first initial install failed so another day to replace the first seamed gutter and replacement of 6 leaky downspouts. Clean up daily was completed however many nails, screws, paper, shingle pieces, etc are still found. Once finally completed we were satisfied with the roofing system, flashing and overall product quality. The crews are trained by Power not actually employees of Power so a language barrier existed. The sales rep inspected and detailed the project thoroughly and respectfully.”

Everything was great except the team was supposed to arrive between 11 and 1, but didnt show up until around 4 with no communication. I had to show them that there was no caulk on the upper side of the frame after install, which is where I had insulation issues before. The screen door doesnt close smoothly or lock smoothly which I told the quality guy about. He was kind enough to clean around the frame for us which had cault and markings all over it. I was told I'd get a call the next day to have someone come look at the screen door, but that hasn't happened yet. Everything else about the sliding glass door is awesome. It insulated the house very well.”

“The Installers were extremely unprofessional. They showed zero respect for my property. They rushed through the project and never Insulated the windows properly. They parked their vehicle on a new side walk that potentially could have cracked by the weight of their vehicles AFTER we told them NOT to park there. They ruined one of our Christmas decorations and never told us by tripping over the light string and literally ripping it out. I also told them not to park in the front portion of our yard do to the sewage tile drain that exits our home runs underground in that area. They basically ignored me and did what they wanted. They showed up at my home and immediately started taking out the windows, no introductions, nothing. Just a request to use our house for their power supply. What PROFESSIONAL installers come to a job site with out a power supply? I literally had to disconnect a cord that runs some holiday decorations so they had power. They removed 2 windows and shattered glass, EVERYWHERE. Inside and out. The Temps where in the teens. So I had two gaping holes in the side of my house with the cold pouring in when they realized that they didn't bring all the material for the job. The crew chief left my home, never said where he was going, just left, to get wood and tap con screws for the framing. He barely spoke English. And his two other crew members spoke no English so I had zero communication on what was happening. He was gone for at least an hour while his crew stood around doing nothing. I had to call power customer service to find out what was up. He called them and told him he didn't have the wood or screws and had to go buy them. How about informing the home owner, me, what was up? And what PROFESSIONAL installation team shows up to a job without the full material that they need to do the job? When he came back, of course he parked right where I asked him to NOT PARK, when I asked him to please move the vehicle he was all puffy about it. By this time I and my wife are stressing out big time. Multiple times the boss and the workers had verbal conflicts in their Ukranian language, which found out later they spoke. My wife used Google translate to translate what they were saying and they were dropping f bombs and lude stuff in the conversation. I guess they figured we didn't speak their language so we didn't know. I watched them as they progressed with the install. I had watched multiple videos on window installation on Cinder block homes and they were definitely not doing it completely right. The wood they forgot and brought back wasn't close to being the right thickness so the frame they built around the windows left a gaps close to 2 full inches around the window. I asked them is that normal? Of course the crew boss said yes they just fill it with spray insulation. When installing the frame in the window area, they never used any type of barrier insulation between the concrete block and the wood where it makes contact. Just used a couple screws to screw it to the Cinder block. No insulating adhesive, no sill sealer, nothing. When they put the windows in the hole, the gaps where significant all around but yet, he only used 4 tap cons to hold them in place. These are 48 by 48 inch windows. Double hung. 4 screws? He used the wrong tap cons also. He should have used the tapered head tapcons instead of the bolt head ones. The bolt head sticks out to far and we can't put the hole plugs in the holes where they put the screws. When they applied the spray insulation between the gap in the window and frame, they didn't come near to filling it up. They put just enough in the gap to hold them in place.These are the windows I was able to watch them install. I don't know how many corners they cut in the ones I wasn't able to watch them do. I did look in the window frames to see where he screwed them in, they never capped the holes off with the supplied hole caps. They just took them with them. We had to call and have power send us a bag so we could cap them off. Now I'm finishing their install? That's when we found out we couldn't cap the holes he put the bolt head tapcons in. We have a dog that we let out in out in our fenced in back yard. I asked them to please please be extremely careful to try and not get broken glass in the yard because of our dog. When they were done, the next day I went out in the yard where they worked putting in the windows where my dog frequent and there was glass everywhere. My wife and I spent hours cleaning it up and looking for shards. One week later and we are STILL finding glass. They took all the hardware bags that came with the windows. Why? We paid for those. Told power customer care, got nothing. They did a crap job cleaning up inside too. My wife actually got glass in her foot. We had to go back and vaccum and sweep the whole house. I found glass on my night stand, and multiple other places IN my home. I can literally go on and on. When the power rep came to my home he took nearly a full hour telling me how wonderful and professional and communicative they where. They set the bar high and gave me next level expectations. Turns out it was all BS. I have videos and pictures of the install. I probably will be sending these to Pella so they know how these people represent and install their product. Sincerely disappointed, Mike Johnson.”
