I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience with Marc Poulos Painting has been one of the most frustrating contractor experiences we've ever had. We signed our contract on May 11th to have our kitchen cabinets painted, our front door painted, and our garage doors sanded and stained. We were scheduled to begin on July 6, but no one showed up. Even worse, no one contacted us. I had to chase the company down to find out where they were and when they would start the project. When the project finally started, they sent one person to do a job that clearly required an entire crew. He was expected to remove all of the cabinet doors, remove the hardware, tape everything off, prime, sand, and prep the entire kitchen by himself. After five days of painfully slow progress, I complained. Their solution was to send two additional workers for one day and then only one additional worker the following day. The original employee became so frustrated with the lack of support that he quit the job altogether. That alone speaks volumes about how this company manages its projects. After I complained, our salesperson, Tony, came to our home with the owner, Marc Poulos. We expected accountability and a plan to fix the situation. Instead, Marc barely acknowledged the problems. He took our cabinet handles back to the shop to create templates so the hardware could be reinstalled correctly. That never happened. It was simply another promise that went nowhere. My husband later reached out to Tony for help and received no response whatsoever. Communication from our project manager, Jay, has been just as disappointing. The kitchen cabinet project is supposedly complete, but several cabinet handle holes were drilled crooked, leaving multiple doors visibly misaligned. We contacted Jay on July 28, and he said he would get back to us. He never did. We followed up again on August 3, and once again received the same empty promise that he would get back to us. As of today, we're still waiting. To make matters worse, we still have not received any communication whatsoever about the remaining work that was included in our contract—the painting of our front door and the sanding and staining of our garage doors. No schedule. No timeline. No proactive communication. At this point, it doesn't matter because we have completely lost confidence in this company and do not want Marc Poulos Painting back to finish the work. This project has been plagued by missed start dates, poor scheduling, inadequate staffing, lack of communication, broken promises, and unacceptable workmanship. For a company that promotes itself as a professional painting contractor, the execution has been anything but professional. My husband and I have been very reasonable and understanding throughout this entire project, but this is now above and beyond our reasonable expectations. The most disappointing part isn't that problems occurred—every contractor runs into challenges. It's that no one at this company seems willing to take ownership or follow through. Once they have your business, don't expect communication, accountability, or quality workmanship. We trusted Marc Poulos Painting with a significant investment in our home, and they failed us at nearly every stage of the process. We cannot recommend this company and would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring them to look elsewhere.

I chose Marc Poulos painting to paint my condo. I was originally drawn to them as a company because they support the community by being a sponsor of the Metropolis theatre. I could not possibly have been happier with the result of their work in my home. Everyone I met with was extremely professional and friendly. The workmanship of the job was outstanding. I was extremely impressed with the painter who did the majority of the work, Philip. He was professional, yet treated me like family. He cared about his work, continuously asked me if I was satisfied, made sure everything was clean and organized before he left each day, and even worked very hard to make sure the job was done before my granddaughters came for a sleep-over. I will loudly recommend them to anyone interested in quality work in their home.

My first painting experience was great!! In April 2021 we had our FR, kitchen (including the cabinets), laundry room painted and deck stained. Everything ran smoothly from getting an estimate, to choosing colors, to having the work done---we couldn't have been happier. For that very reason, I chose to use Poulos Painting again. My next project was in early October. Mike (sales) walked through my townhouse and after asking a few questions and taking some measurements, was able to give me a great estimate and secure my business. About 2 weeks later Carl, the Project Mgr confirmed the dates for the painting job and kept me updated on the progress. Again the work was outstanding and my place was was left spotless. Way to go Poulos Painting!! (pix are from 2021 work)

This place is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Don’t be fooled when the professional and efficient estimator comes out… once you sign, the rest is a compete catastrophe!! My project manager was MIA, he did no walk-through and wouldn’t communicate with me unless I cc’d the front desk. He claimed the project was complete when it wasn’t at all. I escalated this to his manager and received no better service. I have absolutely ZERO idea how they have ANY good reviews. I hired them for an exterior home paint touch up but most reviews here are interior wallpaper so maybe that’s why. My job was quoted as one day of work but it dragged on for over 3 months. Several no shows, and the painter they did send (who failed to compete the job) looked like he was in and out of prison. I had to cancel our contract because it was such a comedy of errors. I have an 8,000 square ft house and work with a ton of contractors so I am being completely fair and honest with this review. Choose a different painter and you’ll save yourself a massive headache.

I have only recommended 2 business. One of them is Marc Poulos Painting. This is the second time I have hired them and was grateful for the work they did. They went above and beyond expectations again. They took care of the painting that was needed and did extra work to ensure a complete and wonderful job. I recommend them completely and will use them again.
