“Let me be honest, because the initial work I had with Forward—I needed stuff to reach me on a certain day, but when I called them later, the date when I wanted to receive the stuff was the date they started from there. I mean, I don't know what was the confusion there. It did come on the proper date, which is fine, and my goods came properly—there was no problem with anything, that was also fine. I had to actually be here in Tennessee, without most of my things. They were basically moving some stuff, just little things—five to six little pieces, and five to six packages. As far as the inside—how things came, things came and reached it, and that would be the day they promised, and they said they would start from there—that was fine, I would give an A. But the problem of having a miscommunication with the date, I told them I needed it on a specific day, but they started on the day, and they did not even let me know. I tried to reach them so many times, and it was practically impossible to reach them. None of their numbers were responding, and I was told they'd call back, but none of them called back. And then finally I had to call up my friend and call the number of the person he knew there, and then call up that person and finally they came. But the customer service is not responsive at all, and they said they'd return the calls—they never return their calls. I would recommend them, but then I'd just tell other people whom I recommend that they should be careful about ensuring that the date is thoroughly communicated. But otherwise everything is OK.”

“Florida Van Lines overcharged. They told me that it was going to be one price, and then they gave me another price. It was way too high—like, double the price, or more. I'd give them the worst grade. The guy was super nice who moved everything to my house. One picture that I had was broken; I didn't even report that—I still have the picture, but it's OK. It was, like, broken on the corner. The only complaint I had was they gave me one price for it, and then they changed it; they, like, double charged. They got my stuff, they had everything—and there, right in my house, they told me, 'Oh, this is not the real price; it'll be more because-' and then, when I saw their little bit more, it was like double the price. The only thing—they were nice, they moved everything,—but the only thing I didn't like was that they broke one of my pictures, the corner. And I just realized when I inspected the picture, like, after seven days. I would not recommend them to anyone.”

“Florida Forward Van Lines showed up when they said they'd show up, and they did what they said they'd do. That's always a surprise in South Florida, when that actually happens. I would definitely recommend them, and they were exactly what I hoped they would be. They didn't mess around on the job, and they were where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there, did what they were supposed to do. I'd give them an A for sure. I don't have any complaints about them. They were fine. They knew what they were doing. I'd absolutely recommend them; I already have, actually. I actually got them out of a magazine that the county put out; it was nice that the information was accurate.”

“The stuff was delivered last week. Two pieces of furniture were damaged, the guy that delivered the stuff, he said he took pictures and sent them to the office, and ‘Let them do something about it.’ And this week, one leg of furniture is missing—round table, it is an antique, and the leg was broken. Otherwise, I think they did a good job; I'm just complaining about the two pieces of furniture that were damaged, so hopefully somebody will get back to me, to see if they can be fixed. Otherwise they were OK, very nice, very professional. Too bad that happened. Performance—I would grade them an A; they did a good job.”

“The gentlemen that moved me—they were very fast, efficient, polite, hardworking, and made sure to take care of all my furniture. The new apartment I had moved into had this vinyl type flooring, and one of the gentlemen accidentally ripped the floor. The supervisor that was on scene handled the situation very professionally; there was no argument as to who did it, or anything like that. He knew his employee had made the error and was very sure to take photos and report the incident, and, like I said, they handled everything very professionally. I can give them an A.”

“They came, they took up my stuff, and brought it to me the next day. It's only me in the house and the apartment, so we don't have anything in the house. It's just two bedrooms, but there's one empty. It's not much. I'd give them an A. I didn't have any concern with them. They did good, from the first guy who came—and the group that came, moved my stuff. I just thought they did everything—I would recommend them if I have to.”

“That was the move from Florida to Texas. I like that when they came and gave me a quote, and they moved everything, it didn't double or triple—like some of the other horrible companies. So, they kept their word, and they showed up on time, and they took care of my stuff. I've only had two experiences and compared to the other one, I'd give them an A. I would recommend them.”

“I had a positive experience with the pickup crew—the delivery crew, not as much. The pickup crew was great. They did everything efficiently and fairly. The price was fair. I actually had a very decent pricing. Everything was shipped quickly, and it actually even got there early, much quickly than any other company that I had looked up. Overall, I think they're a good company. The delivery crew, one of them was good and the other one was kicking some boxes, and not having the best care with the items. Having said that, we had one thing that was an exercise machine that was damaged beyond repair, and other little scratches and smaller damage. Largely, there was less damage than I thought I would have for a cross-country trip. I would give the overall experience a B+.”

“It took Florida Forward Van Lines two days to pack up my house, which would take—they said that's how long it would take. But at the very end, they were really rushing, and a couple of my last shades were messed up. I didn't do any reporting or anything. Another thing they did, was they left one my very large paintings down at the loading dock. After they had left, the guys at the apartment building told me that the workmen—it had already been packed, they had just forgotten to put it on the truck. Otherwise, they did really good. Very professional. I think the reason they didn't finish as quickly as they wanted to was because one of the guys—it was three man crew that were working on packing—and one of the guys was not very well trained, and he kind of took off for a while, at some point, so they were really bound on him. I'd give them a B+. They're an excellent company. This is one of those things where two of their guys were superb, and all the company interactions were superb. It was just this one guy who was not.”

“I would say, in general, they showed up on time. They packed well and didn't break too many things. They were pleasant, so overall, it was good experience. What I didn't like, was the guy that packed up my dad's office was 96. We drove an hour; I moved 45 minutes. And he says' Here is your computer, here's your wires, here's your T.V.,”— hooked him all up. I just found my computer two weeks ago. They did mark the box, they didn't point it out to me, I had to go out and buy another computer. I could have asked them, I didn't think about it. How is it that one packer knows to let you know, here is your computer to save it; keep track of it. To my 96 year old dad, he doesn't need it, I'm online everyday. So, if that's the thing that can happen—all the boxes ended up in my garage; a number of them I still haven't opened yet. They are just a mountain. I have to get a ladder to get the top of them; they were all piled up in the garage. That's was my mistake; I take full responsibility for that. I thought that I would take one box, put it away—but that was my mistake, because I couldn't find things right away. I thought my computer would be marked; I thought they would keep track of it, and handle it delicately. I didn't find it for two months. I brought another computer. I would make that a suggestion. Overall, my experience was fine. I haven't complained to anybody; I'm not bad mouthing Forward Van Lines, but if they could keep track with what a 96 year old man has, and not the woman of the household who is running things, and obviously the one making decisions—paying bills is probably the one that needs to go online. I didn't expect them to label every box, and I didn't think of it myself. The guy that packed up my dad's office could've been nicer. He got the wires, the extension cords—an hour after we got here, he was online and good to go. Two months in, I'm like, ‘Where is my computer?’ That's the suggestion I would make if you’re going to keep track of one computer in the family, you better keep track of them all. But I was surprised—there was very little breakage; they packed things well. And if somebody asked if we would use them again, I would probably say yes. But this time I would say, ‘You tell me where my computer is. You keep track of my printer, and when I get there, you tell me where my computer is.’ So, that is a lesson I learned. I would grade them a B+. I thought their customer service was very good. But another problem we had is that—I was using some of the furniture and things to stage the house; I was selling the house—and I went in, and the head guy said, ‘Now, what are we doing in each room?’ and I would say, ‘Everything on that wall stays, and that goes.’ There were only three rooms like that; they got it all wrong. By the time I finished going around with him—the packers—they don't speak English, they don't listen. By the time I got back, they had packed up everything in one room, and there was only a couple of things. My whole living room was supposed to stay, the lamps, the shades—everything—and I was going to leave all that furniture there; only two things were supposed to be packed up. There should be a better way. Maybe most people move everything, and that's what they are used to. Again, I will take responsibility for that; I should have gone around with post it notes—green for go, and red for stay. And I could have done—I thought I was able to say ‘Everything stay, except for these two hutches.’ Again, if I do it again and some things stay and some things go, I'm going to label with post it notes.”

“To die for. I met with a fellow by the name of Guy that worked for the company. I told Guy—well, I met with them, and I had moved my son from Florida to South Carolina before this. What happened when I moved my son: all of a sudden, he's moved, and then they tell me, ‘Oh, now you have to pay this; you have to pay that.’ I said, ‘why didn't you tell me that upfront?’ And they didn't. So, right from the beginning, I said to Guy, ‘I want you to give me a fair and reasonable price upfront, and I'm going to show you everything. I'm moving and I'm not going to hide a thing from you. But I want to know upfront, how much this is going to cost, and I don't want to hear, after you move me that you want more money.’ So, what we did—he gave me an estimate, as did two other companies. For some reason I trusted him; he said no he would give me the price upfront. And then I said, ‘I still have office things I have to move, and so can your truck on the way up stop at my office and pick up the stuff at my office?’ He said ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘I won't have more than 10 boxes.’ Then I called them about three weeks before leaving. I said, ‘These are the boxes I have packed, and you’re going to pack the rest.’ So, we agreed upon a price, and he stuck to that. Before I left, a friend gave me a huge glass vase, about four feet high very thick glass, and there were a few other things that people gave me that I didn't know were going to be coming. And I said, ‘These are going to go, so you can charge me.’ He said, ‘No, we agreed on a price; I promised you.’ It was such a great experience, and I meant to write it down. After I moved here, I had 5 weeks here, and then I went to Italy, so I haven't written it up. I had a very positive experience, and I know from one of the companies I used, she would have been charging me extra for things. He was fair all of the way, so that's it; that was my experience.”

“I'm actually waiting to see if they would get back to me on something which they haven't; one of the boxes wasn't delivered—at least one that I know of, because I'm missing some items. So, I called them up, and I asked them if they could look into it and everything, and they haven't gotten back to me. To be honest, I wasn't all that thrilled. There was, in terms of the quote that they gave me—they came out to do an inspection, and then later on, I ended up spending another thousand more than I had anticipated, which didn't make me happy. And then, in addition to my items being lost, them not getting back to me—I also heard that, when I spoke with them, they said if it's longer than thirty days, they just donate the items—which I think is ridiculous because everything's tagged, so it wouldn't take much to track who, what belongs to what. I was not fond of them. It would be between a C- and D+. I think cleanliness was just kind of standard. Another issue I recall that just came up—I moved from one state to the next, and I secured a date with the expectation that my items would be delivered sooner than they were, and that ended up not happening, and there was this miscommunication going on. I would say there were surprises there that shouldn't have been there.”

“They don't know how to handle paintings. I have two or three. I've just gotten to the stage where I'm hanging up paintings; at least three have broken glass in the corners, so they didn't put in in properly. It seems to be just in the corners. In addition to that, they lost one painting, and they—I told them to take two terrace chairs off the terrace, which they forgot, and they left two paintings in the apartment, and they broke a sculpture. They were very pleasant, but they were not particularly—I would never use them again, nor would I recommend them. I would say a C-. They were pleasant, but I have to have the pictures fixed, sent to a framer. The sculpture is done; I took a picture of it. Like I said, what they left in the apartment—good thing I went back the next day. I can't give them an excellent quality because of what they did. The office was fine. They were filthy. The guys were filthy dirty. I don't know when the last time it was they took a bath. They didn't leave a mess or trash around.”

“First of all, I had an estimate, and I told them everything I had, and when they came in to pick up the furniture, they said ‘OK. We have boxes here, extra, extra.' And they charged me $2000 extra—double what they told me. I was fine with that. They took it. And then I had to wait almost two weeks after—it took more than three weeks to get my furniture. I was staying in a hotel in New Hampshire, until I got my furniture. And when I got it, the boxes were, like, squished—destroyed—and I had frames, pictures broken. And I had a bookcase that was broken, and so, I trashed that. I took pictures before I trashed it; sent it to them, and I knew I had to talk to somebody, and then they asked me to leave the things in the house, and I was like, 'I already trashed it. I already got rid of it.' So, I just ignored the situation. I was like, 'OK, fine, I don't want to deal with that.' I'd give them a C. Cleanliness was good. I won't recommend Florida Forward Van Lines .”

“I had a great experience with them. I don't think that the guys were that well trained; I would grade them a C because of lack of communication, organization. They still did a great job. If it was high end furniture, I would not hire them for that. They were not organized—they had stuff all over the place—but they still managed to get the job done. I had companies that were much more organized. If the furniture is not very expensive, and you’re not so worried about it, then they are good enough for that. But if you have high end furniture, I would not hire them for that. They are not organized or professionally trained. Definitely, they were not professionally trained. I didn't deal with customer service.”

“They are so good. They are awesome. They were great. We interviewed a few people, and we picked them because the guy was so sweet and so nice. We had the same girl all the way through that kept us in touch with everything that was going on. It was just amazing. It was a really good experience. My mom moved to Florida 35 years ago, and she needed time. We had to move her back up to Norwalk, and it was a pretty dramatic move. They were so sweet, and they made it so easy. She was just moving everything out of her house after 35 years to come up here to Norwalk. It was really emotional, but they made it so great. It was really good. It was one less thing to worry about. I'd give them an A+. I'd definitely recommend them.”

“They were moving some stuff we had in a storage unit over to our apartment in Sweden. There were some things that were broken, and there were some things missing. As far as any details, I don't know. My wife was handling that. I do know that there were three or four boxes that didn't arrive, and there was quite a bit of breakage. On the front end, things were really good. The results were not as good because everything was broken or missing. Overall, I think it was good. As far as I know, everything went pretty well. I don't know what part of that was them and what part of that was their guys in Sweden. Overall, including business and all of that, I thought that they really did a deal. I'd give them an A. As far as the quality of the work, obviously they didn't pack things as well as they should have. They did good at customer service and with punctuality.”

“They were fantastic. They did an absolutely great job. I would recommend them, and I would use them again. It was a household moving job. They moved my son and I from a two bedroom in Fort Lauderdale to a three bedroom over here in Englewood, Florida. The gentleman that came out was very professional and nicely dressed; he had a logo and his name on the shirt. He gave me information and his business card. I think they did everything on a tablet. The other guys that came out looked like they just got off the job; sweaty. You could see the perspiration stains under their arms. Some of them took notes on a yellow tab, that type of thing. To me, it was very unprofessional. I think in the moving business, the owner—he's not going to be out there jobbing it most likely, but he's the one that needs to come out and give you the quote. Not the guy that just came off the bus after working all day and is ready to go home. That's how I looked at it. They weren't necessarily the lowest quote, but the lowest quote doesn't necessarily win. When you start averaging everything out and looking at it apples to apples, they're all relative. They're all going to be close; who impresses you the most, and who's the most professional. They won, and they did a great job. I'll probably use them again in a couple of years, because I'm probably going move back to New Mexico. I'd give the overall experience an A+. Everything was packed efficiently. We have some odd stuff; I have a lot of Southwestern decor stuff, big pots, and a lot of ceramic stuff. Coming from New Mexico, everything's clay. I have a lot of stuff that's difficult. You have to wrap it a couple of different ways. You've got to wrap it in the bubble stuff, and then you have to wrap it in the stuff that's padded; a lot of glassware. So it was a difficult pack job, and they did really well with that. I'd recommend them for sure.”
