Scalping the Lawn
Scalping is the process of cutting the lawn very short. It is
sometimes used on certain types of lawns in mid-spring to facilitate
growth. Scalping removes the dormant grass blades that act as
insulation during the cold winter months. Once the dormant blades are
gone, the roots and earth warm more quickly, and the yard returns to
its green state more efficiently. Ask lawn professionals if scalping
will help your lawn.
