"We moved into a new house and a few issues surfaced that needed to be addressed immediately. For a routing need, James was there within an hour and took good and quick care of the problem. We also discovered that we were having a problem with our back up sump pump system and Terry got there very quickly and a few days later he came back and put in a new back up system for us while we were out of town. Obviously that was quite necessary as being out of town we didn’t want to worry if there was a power failure in the neighborhood. We are very grateful to the good work of Ravinia Plumbing."

"Mike is an exceptional plumber. He did a fantastic job without any rework. He is exceptionally friendly and kept me advised of every portion of the work. He replaced all of the galvanized steel piping with copper. Recognizing that not having water available during this work can be very impactful, he was quick and adapted his work strategy to keep my downtime to an absolute minimum. He had water back online within 5 hours - I was quite impressed! When he had an apprentice working with him, he made sure he took the time to mentor the apprentice and did quality checking to ensure I will be satisfied."

"Had a crazy day Fri. After the electrician was here, he said he smelled gas. Called the gas co., and they turned off the gas after finding a leak. Your plumber Charlie came and fixed the leak-did an air test-and I was able to call the gas co to turn the gas back on in the same day. I did appreciate your getting someone out here within an hour so I could get the heat back on. It was a scary time-and you fixed everything."

"We had an inspection after noticing that our water usage indicated some kind of steady leak. We subsequently had a part replacement in one of our toilets. The water leakage has been on and off since then and we're watching it carefully. The stopper in that toilet still catches occasionally so we check it after each use."

There were issues with two water heaters and Chris was able to resolve one and get it working. It has been well over a week and we have not heard back from Ravinia and the 2nd water heater is not working. The following Monday Ray was scheduled to perform an inspection/review. "This is the second time in a row where the person who came was not helpful. The first time, the person came out and said I need a new thermostat. The problem was the shutoff that stops electricity to the unit because the device that collects and pumps out water was full. This time we mentioned that a part of the house is cold. The person said it’s because that part of the house is far away. We had someone else come out and adjust the airflow and now the house is warm throughout."

"What began as a fix to a shower-head leak ended up involving three of your plumbers, three of your trucks in front of my house at once (along with an SUV)—more problems discovered, wrong and/or wrong- sized parts sent twice from your office that necessitated replacements— if it could go wrong that Friday afternoon, it did! However, none of this was anyone’s fault and many people worked hard from two to six that day to get things fixed and turn the water on again. They were responsive, but the people they sent were all young and inexperienced. Plus there was always some sort of upsell at the end of their visit. I do not need a new HVAC system every time you come out for a checkup. Ravinia is my new go to resource. Their reputation is deserved. Don't fool around with anyone else."

"Called Ravinia to check/replace a sump pump check valve. Noticed the pump sounded different during the operation as if it were pumping into a completely empty pipe. I suspected the check valve had failed and was leaking all the water above it in the discharge pipe back into the pit. The technician dismissed this concern saying that I was just worried since it had been raining and the pump was operating more frequently. The tech didn't check the valve, didn't check the discharge pipe, and didn't check the pump. All he did was knock on the pipe to show me (incorrectly) that the pipe was full of water. It wasn't, and I know this because I checked it myself. The pump continued to operate very frequently (without rain). I decided to remove the check valve myself to either confirm the tech's claim or to prove it had failed. Upon removal of the valve, I expected water to be released from the discharge pipe above the valve. However, no water was there - the pipe was empty. I checked the valve and confirmed it had failed. Every cycle, the pump was filling >10 feet of pipe which then returned right back into the pit. At this point I replaced the valve myself with a part bought from Lowe's. Total cost to me for the repair was less than $30, despite paying Ravinia $69 to do nothing and actually provide an incorrect diagnosis. I expect better from Ravinia."

But that's hard to do when you're rodding the sewer line from a cleanout that is tucked away in a small closet in a finished basement where the walls and trim have recently been painted!
