I would use them again anytime. They did inside as well—electrical outlets, checked them to make sure they were safe, and repaired the ones that needed it. The overhanging fan needed to be reconnected to the ceiling to be safe. It was the kitchen, dining room, front door outside sensor, and the back door outside sensor. They were A+. “Martella Electric did some work on my church, and they did a real nice job. We had a very narrow time frame to get this job done, and they were more than willing to accommodate that. They did what they said they were going to do, and they did it on our schedule. They had the right idea. We kind of knew what we needed to have done, and we didn't tell them, but they confirmed that while we were there. It made us feel very good about the whole thing. They had to run a new supply for some outlets. We had a problem inside our cinder block walls with some conduits that were in there, so Martella Electric put in some new circuits to replace that old wiring. It really worked out very well. They get an A.”

For years I lived with jerry-rigged stuff because other electricians told me they couldn't do it. This year, I found Martella—they can do anything, and they're neat and professional. They're definitely an A+. I have some really amazing lighting fixtures from foreign countries that they dealt with, no problem. When we took over the house, we had to get rid of all the knob and tube wiring. The original electricians we had weren't good, so we had to go back and redo a lot of stuff. Even trying to do things like put a chandelier up in my front hall to drop all the way down three stories, the previous electricians couldn't manage to get a wire up there because it's a small attic we have. Martella did it, and they did it without fuss. It took some effort, but they did it. They were good.”

They checked every outlet, and then they found a couple things that had to be repaired that I didn't know about, so I'm well satisfied with them. I'm retired now, but I've used them in my business, and I know one time they did a lot of work for me, and the inspector came around and said, 'You don't have to worry about anything Martella Electric does. They were very respectful of my home. If they had to cut a hole in the ceiling, or whatever, they covered everything up entirely. First of all, he let us know ahead of time that he was coming. He arrived promptly on time, and he was very careful in his work. He kept us apprised as to what he was doing, and after he did all of the repairs that we had asked for, he made certain that all of the electricity and all the switches and all the interconnections were working appropriately. “They were recommended to me by another contractor, actually by an HVAC contractor that I had used that I trusted. I liked that they were very clear with their pricing and very clear with the details of the work that they were going to perform, and I liked that they were also extremely professional and courteous—like dealing with a very warm person. More like dealing with a friend. They're very friendly, very easy to speak to. He fixed a doorbell that was broken. He fixed two outlets and a ceiling light that were broken. All had an issue where they weren't getting power for some reason. It turned out to be a loose wire in the circuit breaker panel, and while he was in the circuit breaker panel, he noticed that a few of the breakers were the wrong size. So he told me of the issue, gave me the option to have him fix it right there on the spot, and clearly told me what the cost would be along with the risks of not doing it and the risks of doing it. Finally gave me the option to do it right on site, and I chose that option and he rectified that issue. The guy sent a thank-you note thanking us for the business after he was here. I would give them an A+.”

“The electrician who came out was extremely professional and neat, did clean work, and he was very safe. I'm familiar with electrical work, so I was watching. He was extremely safe and did everything in a workman-like manner. He was very professional and upfront; he told me, 'This is what it costs,' so I wasn't surprised by any of the prices or anything later. He told me what everything that I had asked for to be done would cost. I've called them several different times. The first time they came out we had them do a few things like fix doorbells, and I think they were fixing some lighting circuits or some power circuits. Then after speaking with them—they did all that work really well—he went around the house and did a safety inspection like you'd have done if you were going to sell your house. He told me everything that I would need to have done, told me places where I'd need to have smoke detectors, things like that. I told him go ahead and take care of that work, get that all up to code. They put in a few new kitchen circuits and things like that, brought me all up to code. Then I later had them come back and put in a big generator for me. They test everything when they're all finished. Everything gets tested and gets labeled, so no short circuits or anything. I've been very happy. I had them put in a new panel later just to bring that up to code. So everything I've had done has been absolutely good work. I continue to use them because I don't have to worry that anything is what we call haywired or jerry-rigged or anything like that. They don't do bad work. They make it work right, or it doesn't get done—and they tell you that. Then they came out and put in a big generator for me because we have a lot of power outages in this neighborhood. I got tired of it, and I needed my sump pumps on a generator so when we go out of power I still have sump pumps that work. And then I had them come back out again one another time and put a new panel box in the basement to make it up to snuff and up to code so it'd hold more circuits—perfect. And they did that for me. So, they've been out a few times because I've been happy with the first time they ever showed up. I would rate them A+.”

“Number one, I liked the employees; they just saw it through and did a really good job. If they don't have something with them, they'll come back the next day or later on and make sure they get the right piece of equipment or whatever. They make sure it's done really thoroughly, and they're neat and all that stuff. I've used them for several years—all the time. The customer service is tops. I think the last time out was for the attic fan, but they've sort of done everything. I'd give them an A+.”

“We had just moved into a new office and we had an art collection, and they helped me make choices to spotlight the art, to light the conference room—to make some changes to the lighting that the builder had kind of left us with. All of it was just spot on and very helpful. It looks so good. I thought they were very competent and qualified people. They helped me choose the lighting that was appropriate for the situation. I had a real lighting expert that helped me make choices for lighting fixtures, and then the installation went great. I'm actually having them back right now. They were here today because I made some changes, and I wanted them to come back and take a look at what I needed, and they're solving those lighting issues. I'd give them an A+, and I would recommend them for sure. I actually have used them for my own home because I was so impressed with them for my office. I then had them take over a job that someone else was working on at the house, and they solved that in a much better way.”

It was really a good job, and it was quick and painless. It probably wasn't very tough work either, so that may have something to do with it, but we have used them once and it worked out great. They changed the motor on an attic fan and installed a three-way switch controlling the light in the kitchen. I'd give them the highest rating—the A+.”

“They're outstanding. I would say that as far as service contractors in general go, they're about 12 out of 10. We've never been dissatisfied in any way, and they've done quite a bit. They rewired the basement. They actually installed power boxes to kind of break up our loads throughout the house, and they've installed ceiling fans in all the bathrooms, and they recommended a certain kind that was more silent, which we appreciated. It all works great, and we've never had any problems with them. They've said what they were going to do, they did it, and their cost came in right where they said it was going to be. So we're very satisfied. I would give them an A++.”

“They were very good. They've been out a couple of times. The first time was just to upgrade my electrical service—not the whole service, but I had them add some outlets because my house is older, and I didn't have enough outlets. Then I had them put in some grounded plugs that I didn't have. Then another time, they came out and I had them put some outlets in my basement, and they upgraded the outlet near my washer for the one that's around water—the GFCI. They seem very knowledgeable and they're proactive. They pointed out to me things I should think about, but there's no high pressure. They would just say, 'This situation is probably not the best. You might want to consider upgrading.' They show up when they say they're going to show up, and they have a set-up price list, so you know exactly where the pricing is coming from. There's no guesswork. I would give them an A.”

“What's so good about Martella Electric that keeps me coming back every time is the quality of their work; their work is high quality. I would give them the highest rating—an A. I think the technicians who come out are well trained, they're very professional, and they've been with the company for a long time, so there's not a lot of turnover, which is a really good sign. They are prompt, they're courteous, they're professional, and they do a very good job. If there's any question, they address it.”

This company, Martella, it's unbelievable. I mean, it's almost like when you're dealing with the Marines—you know how strict they are. I said, 'I feel like I have the Marines' electric company at my house.' That's the way this electric company is. They had to put a whole new circuit board in and they gave recommendations of what further could be done in the home—like a list of what's the most important thing to take care of on a financial basis—because I said, 'Well, I can't afford to do it all at once.' So they made a whole checklist for me and said, 'This is the most important,'' and then ordered it from the most important to the least important in order to take care of certain things first and second and third and on an ongoing basis for them to come back, because it's an older house. I know it needs more electrical improvements, but you know they're willing to work with you and make that checklist, which was very helpful. And their neatness was incredible—I've never dealt with any workers that were neater than them. Like I said, they left for the day and you didn't even know they were here. I mean, they even bring a little carpet by the front door. When they come in, they'll put a carpet down so that they don't mess your floors up with their shoes, things like that. I would give them an A+. I mean, it was incredible.”

“They were good. A very professional, friendly guy installed security lights. It was one visit, maybe they were here two hours or so. They were just friendly, professional, and they kept my house clean—that was the most important. I'd give them an A+.”

“Quality job, no complaints. He put in a bunch of lights in our new living room and he was very knowledgeable about the structure of the house. The house is very old, but he was able to work around that. Also a really nice guy—a good guy. I'm pretty sure we used him a couple times, maybe four or five, definitely more than once. This one time he got locked out of the house and instead of just sitting around reading the newspaper he went ahead and changed all the burnt out light bulbs on the exterior lights. So, that was pretty good. He's definitely an A if not A+. I'll go ahead and give them an A+.”

It was a few months ago, but I had them come out to a commercial property that I own and install some outdoor lights, replace some fixtures inside, and put in a new electrical line inside and everything. I also had my smoke detectors—they were battery operated, and I replaced them with electrical ones. So, they did that and they ran another line, I think, off my main box. I would rate them A+.”

“I've used them for years. The electricians they send are always very, very nice, very careful of your house, and they explain anything you want explained. I just feel very comfortable having them in my house, and they do excellent work. They put in a new light fixture for me, and they did rewiring in my garage because I've had it sort of jerry-rigged—which they pointed out—and I kind of knew it was not supposed to be that way. So they very patiently explained why and asked if I wanted to have it done that day, and they were there, so I let them do the work. Everybody was wonderful, they really were. I would rate them A+.”

“They couldn't be better. They're very well organized, they're very well trained, and they're very fastidious. They are there when they say they're going to be there, and I found their paperwork was very well organized. There was no doubt; they had it all documented and charted, so it was a very straightforward and a pleasant experience, for sure. I had a hit list for them—under-cabinet lighting that wasn't working well and high hats and timers—it was a melange of projects. I haven't had any problems with it. They were all very neat and clean. They put their little booties on, took them off when they went out, and put them back on when they came back; it didn't matter whether it was once, twice, or twenty times. And they had their cloth to catch debris and they did a little vacuuming at the end. I mean, they were great. I would rate them A+. We've had them a couple times, and I've recommended them. And guess what—I got a thank you note. I keep telling the people where I work. I say, 'I even get a thank-you note from the electrician.'”

“I think we've used them twice now. They did good work. They came when they were supposed to, they did good work, and we said, 'Gee, we're happy to have found them.' We got their name from a friend who has been using them for years. We called them a while back and then thought of them again when whatever it was that we needed to have done in January came up. “They did some work for me about a year ago too. An estimate was given on site, and the young man who did all of the work, the electrician, was so neat in what he did and cleaned up very nicely and very efficiently after it was done. They called afterwards to check and see whether or not I was pleased with the work that was done—and not all companies do that. So, all in all, excellent. He came and gave me the estimate, then he did the work, and it came out very close to what the estimate was. I'd give Martella an A+. I've recommended them to my sister and to other friends.”
