I’ve had a wonderful experience with High’s Chimney Service! Last year, they installed a wood-burning fireplace insert along with the necessary stainless steel chimney liner. I was very pleased with their installation work and follow up teaching me how to use it. This year, I scheduled an inspection and cleaning in preparation for heating my house with wood this winter. Since the installation was only a year old and I had barely used the stove, the technician found everything in excellent condition and explained that cleaning wasn’t necessary. I really appreciated their honesty and not recommending unnecessary work. Quality workmanship, professional service, and a company I feel I can trust! I highly recommend High’s Chimney Service!

Mr Kessler showed up on time with his tech and was very straightforward about the inspection results. The work required was accomplished quickly and neatly. He also provided An estimate for needed chimney repairs with photos attached. High’s came in $100 cheaper than a prominent competitor even after the competitor’s “discount.” I’ll use High’s chimney service again.

Long time customer of Highs Chimney service. Easy online appointment scheduling and quick response. Service techs were prompt, neat and clean. No mess left behind. Very detailed and informative inspection and cleaning. The cost for a cleaning and inspection has been getting pricey though, unfortunately most other services I checked were in the same price range. Still highly recommend.

These guys are a class act. I scheduled a service for our gas fireplace. I had used High's Chimney before and had been very pleased with them. Unfortunately, this time they canceled twice because a technician was unavailable. They offered a third reschedule for a free service. The technician arrived on time and was very thorough. He cleaned up our gas fireplace that hadn't been serviced for several years and provided some helpful tips on how to maintain it. I would use them again.

I had a great experience with this company. They were professional, punctual, and took the time to thoroughly inspect my chimney and explain its condition. They answered all of my questions honestly and provided helpful recommendations for maintenance and ways to address a few minor issues. I really appreciated that they took the time to educate me instead of just trying to sell me unnecessary services. It’s refreshing to work with a company that values honesty, professionalism, and customer service. I would definitely recommend this company to others looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy chimney service. Based on my experience, I will absolutely consider them for any future chimney cleaning, inspection, or maintenance needs.

"They are a very professional company, and the technicians are highly competent. They are very honest in their assessment, and if there are any issues they let me know. I like their honesty the most. They don't come in every time and say I have this problem or that issue, and asking me to spend a lot of money."

"Our chimney needed a rebuild of the top, a new crown, work on the shoulders, and several other locations to be tuckpointed (i.e. for the mortar between the bricks to be ground out and new one inserted). Matt and his partner who came to give us the estimate were pleasant to work with and were professional. The crew who did the work itself was good too, however, they missed several spots that needed to be tuckpointed and didn’t insert enough mortar on one shoulder so it looks unfinished. We understand that it happens, it’s fine. However, we called the company to see if it can be fixed. Matt and his partner came out to take a look and said that the missed spots aren’t structural issues, just cosmetic, but that he’d check with his boss if someone could be sent out to fix it. His boss apparently declined. We’ve had other work done around our house and if someone missed something they always have come back out to fix it, so it is disappointing that that wasn’t the case with High’s chimney. Yes, they did the work. Yes, the did an OK job, but no it wasn’t perfect/to our 100% satisfaction and were surprised that the boss didn’t care enough to have the issues fixed to satisfy their customers."

"We've used them a couple of times, and they're fabulous. They've done chimney cleaning at one home a couple of times. At the other home, they took out the old chimney flues and put new chimney flues in. I liked the great service, decent prices—competitive pricing—and their availability. When we needed the work done, they were able to come in, get it done and get out. I would grade the overall experience with an A+. We've already recommended High's Chimney Service to friends."

"Always. That was some time ago. I've used them for probably 16 years. They're reliable, and they do a good job. I would grade the overall experience with an A+."

Silver Spring, MD Homeowner

"It was good. It's been a while—a year and half ago. I liked that their pricing was reasonable, and they came and got the work done. So, I can't complain. I would grade the overall experience with a B+."

Haymarket, VA Homeowner

"High's Chimney Service was great. I liked the fact that they did not cost much more the second year when I said, 'Hey, I remember when you guys were offering this for a certain amount of money. And I know that it's been a year since you've offered that.' And they still had a pretty good deal. And they also were incredibly clean. They took the whole chimney apart, but my living room was totally clean, so that was great. I would grade the overall experience with an A. Quality of work—the house hasn't burned down yet, and I've been running fires in the fireplace which I couldn't do before they relined it and did everything. Customer service—they were really prompt. They were good on the phone, and came when they said they would. And I got an appointment pretty soon, which was what I wanted. This was a while ago. It's been like a year or something. They are very nice guys."

Kensington, MD Homeowner

"It was a while back. It ended up being a little more expensive than I expected, but they did the work that I wanted them to do. They cleaned the chimney on the inside, and then they did some repairs to the chimney up on the roof—the flashing. They fixed the flashing around the chimney. I would grade the overall experience with a B."

Alexandria, VA Homeowner

"That was almost a year ago. They insulated the inside of the chimney. It was positive because they explained what they would do; they did what they explained; the price was good, and they also gave me tips on—this is my first chimney or active fireplace—and they gave me all the tips. The warranty was really good, as well. I would grade the overall experience with an A."

Washington, DC Homeowner

"It was a long time ago—about a year-and-a-half ago. High's Chimney Service installed a stove and a chimney liner. I liked that they were fairly prompt to price the job, and come out and do exactly what I wanted. Nothing noteworthy. I was very concerned. I believe that this chimney gave me problems. I think it smoked and something happened to the liner about six times. And they had to return about six times to fix the problem. I was somewhat concerned when I called up about it. They told me to open the damper and let the thing burn out, and they would get back to me in about a week. So, it wasn't a good experience. I would grade the overall experience with a C. The quality of work was good, but the experience wasn't very good. I was very concerned. It seems to me that my house would have burned down, had I not been there when the flames came through the chimney. I would be very hesitant to recommend them because of their lackadaisical attitude and the lack of concern for my property."

Brookeville, MD Homeowner

"I liked that they were efficient and able to get the work within the time frame assigned to it. They came to clean out the chimney. They told me I had a cracked liner, and I ended up having to have the entire chimney liner replaced. I would grade the overall experience with a B+."

Rockville, MD Homeowner

"I had a medium experience. They fixed some bricks on the chimney and put in a liner. It was neutral experience because they did good work, but the initial quote they gave, they should have realized they needed to do more work from the beginning instead of giving me two separate quotes. I would grade the overall experience with a B."

Rockville, MD Homeowner

"I liked that High's Chimney Service did it in one day, so it was efficient. They repaired the chimney. My experience was good, with one or two problems. In the future, they can improve on better communication."

Silver Spring, MD Homeowner

"They mainly did just an inspection and to tell me that I needed a new reflecting; but mainly, it was an inspection. I liked that they came when they said they would come; they did their job. I didn't have to worry about it. I didn't interact with them much, which was a positive thing. Nothing particularly noteworthy. There were no issues, which is a good thing for me. I don't have to worry. I just told them what I needed, and I got what I needed. I would grade the overall experience with an A."

Alexandria, VA Homeowner

"It was fine. It was just a cleaning. They came highly recommended from our builder and two of our friends. They were fine. I didn't have a lot of communication with them, so they just came in and did the job and left. I don't have any complaints, but it was fine. They were fine. I didn't have a lot of communication with them. They literally came in, cleaned the chimney. They said that they found some cracks in it. We wanted to get that fixed, but the price that they gave us was outrageous. So we were little disappointed in that. But, we might use them again down the road, I don't know. They came highly recommended from people, so I don't want to say anything negative about them. I know people who have used them and loved them. So, they were fine. I would recommend them. They were fine. High's Chimney Service did a fine job."

Bethesda, MD Homeowner

"It was a little while ago. As I recall, they did a pretty routine sweep of the chimney. They might have done some construction in putting in a wood-burning stove. I can't recall if it was them—or it might have been a different company—but I think it was them. In any case, that was done well. I liked that it was smooth. There were no surprises, and it happened pretty efficiently. Nothing noteworthy, again, the communication was smooth and efficient. I would grade the overall experience with an A."

West Bethesda, MD Homeowner

"High's Chimney Service did a good job. Nothing in particular that I liked about them, I think they did a really good job. Technically, they are very excellent. They are not cheap, but they did a good job, and I'm happy with their work. I would grade the overall experience with an A."

Derwood, MD Homeowner

"I seem to recall they did something for me a year and a half ago. I can't remember anything that I liked or disliked about them. I would grade the overall experience with a B."

Catonsville, MD Homeowner

"There's nothing that I liked or disliked about them, they just seemed honest and straightforward. I would grade the overall experience with an A-."
