“We actually had them coming to do the work—we basically had it during year of selling the house. I have not heard anything negative, so I believe they did what they needed to do, and the new owners are happy. I had to repair a chimney which was leaning over due to settling or something. What they had to come and do was to open the roof, push over the chimney, and install a placard in the roof to basically take the weight, so they came and opened it up. The only complaint that I will tell you is that they opened the roof, and then someone else will have to come and close the roof. If you read very carefully what they offer as a service, you need to know that you need to contract with another company, a roofer, to come and close your roof. Anglin actually does recommend—they have a number of recommended roofers that they work with—so if you don't want to do your own research, you can go with any of the ones they recommend. I think they deserve an A. The quality of the work—I must admit, I did not go into the roof. We had a little bit of a late start, because the driver either got lost, or there was a lot of traffic—so the job did not start punctually, but it ended on time. They actually cleaned up, removed all of the dirt and all of the materials. I could almost not-see that they were there. Expertise is definitely an A; that's all they do, either chimney or foundation repairs.”

“I liked just everything about them. They did great work. I thought they were honest. They came when they were supposed to come. The man that worked with us was wonderful. They did my porch, my front porch was settling. They raised that and they fixed my chimney, it was leaning. I'd give them an A+. The customer service, it was great. The quality—It was just done this past summer so it remains to be seen. If my chimney doesn't fall and my porch doesn't sink.”

“We had a chimney that was leaning, and they came and straightened it for us. It was clear that they were experts in that particular job, so they were able to give us an accurate estimate. They were on time to deliver, they were quick to do it, and they did a great job—I would give them an A+. My only complaint is that what they had to do for me required follow-up work from somebody else. In fixing my chimney they also damaged my roof; they knew that they would, and that I would need to have somebody else come in. I did not have a good experience with the person who had to come and fix what they left behind, and I wish they had provided the entire service, so they would have taken accountability and had the full solution. They did a great job with the part that they contracted, but then the follow-on person that they contracted did a terrible job, so I ended up having damage to my house. It was definitely not their fault; I would have just preferred if they had taken care of the whole thing.”

“They did a chimney lean. They seemed to be honest. They showed up on time when they said they were going to do the work, and it was completed in a reasonable amount of time. The owner of the company came and cleaned up where one of them left kind of a mess, but they cared enough to, you know—he came back and cleaned it up, made sure that it looked nice. They did a good job. They’re definitely an A, and I would definitely use them again. We've recommended them to people.”

“The chimney repair—they fixed the problem. I'd say it was an A experience. Chimney went back into place. They were friendly. I called them, and they showed up to do the work pretty quickly. I think maybe it was a week or so. I mean, it was a reasonable amount of time to wait. This wasn’t going to be very clean. They dug up under my chimney and installed these piers, and that was all there was to it. It was very good. Tracking somebody down to do this kind of work was pretty difficult, so they—some people were telling me I had to tear out my chimney, so the fact that they were able to put it back like that was a lot better than what people were trying to get me to do.”

“They worked on my chimney, straightened it. They got it done quick and professionally. I'd give them a B. From what I know, it's fine quality, the only issue I have is that they didn't fix the shingles around it. That had to be somebody else, and they recommended somebody and it was not a great experience. For the price, it should've been a turn-key, they should've taken care of it all at once. It's fine, but if they did, it would've been an A++. Their customer service was good. I thought I was going to get some certificate that guarantees the work afterward and I never got that. Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought that I would get that letter that guaranteed the work for the life of the house or whatever. I would probably recommend them with the caveat that they need to button-up the service, making it a turn-key, that's a real hickey.”

“I was very unhappy. They charged me thousands of dollars for a day's worth of work and what they did had nothing to do with my problem with my chimney. They did the work on the chimney but it's like saying 'Hey, your chimney cap is leaking' and I come and fix the side brick. It doesn't address the problem. When I called them for the problem with my chimney, the sent the technician and they claimed that they know what the issue is, and they're going to fix it, that it's something about the foundation of the chimney and it's a very complex job. Honestly I'm coming to regret letting them touch my chimney. What they did, did not fix my problem. The problem I had was that I had a leak through the side of the chimney which they did not address; and they charged me that much money. They gave me what they called a warranty, I sent a very long email to Mr. John Anglin who is the owner, he didn't even bother answering back my email. They ripped me off for about $15, for work that I had to get another company to fix for me. I do not recommend them to anyone, period. It was a very negative experience. I think with that much money I deserve a response to an email. that was very bad. I would not recommend them to anyone, not to my enemies. Very poor customer service.”

“They did a great job. The house is about 12 years old, and I have an outdoor fireplace that was built on the back of my garage and was pulling the back of the garage off the back of the house. Anglin’s had to come in and put in four piers around the fireplace—two in front of the fireplace and two in the back of the garage. They also gave me a really fair price—I checked with three other companies. I told him that a lot of other expenses had come up, and he took another $500 off, even though he was my least expensive bid. They came over one morning about 9:00, they did all the work, and they cleaned up. I watched them—it was a really amazing thing to see them do. They were gone by the end of the day, and I wouldn't have even known they were there. They cleaned all of my brick and replaced it, and it looked great. They did a wonderful job. They did A-grade work.”

Review by
06/12/2015

“It was excellent. They know what they are doing, and when they came out and explained what they would do, they seemed to be competent. I cross-referenced what they told me with a civil engineer that I rely on, and the civil engineer said it was right on target. Then, I had the work done, and it was excellent. They put a pier system under a chimney that was sinking and starting to separate from the house. They lifted it up a few inches so that it would stay stable. When they did the job, it took half or three-quarters of a day—it was in line with or faster than what was usual. I don't live at that site, so I went over to talk to the workers to see what they were doing, and that gave me a good feeling as well. I would give an A grade to them.”

“My chimney was leaning, and Anglin’s corrected it. They put in new steel headers and gave me a lifetime warranty on it that was transferrable to the person that I sold my house to. The other company wouldn’t guarantee their work—they wouldn’t guarantee that it wouldn’t leak—and they tried to upsell me. Anglin’s didn’t try to upsell me. He was just trying to help me fix it. Their customer service was great. Anglin’s was a little more experienced than the next person, he guaranteed his work, and when he said he was going to be out there, he was out there. He finished prior to the time that he said he would be finished, I got the warranty, and the quality of work was very good. They deserve an A.”

“I think the salesman was pretty good, and I guess his workers came and did the job. They straightened a very large chimney that was leaning in toward the house. So, they put some steel beams in, I guess—to this day, I never found out what they actually did. I was out of state. The leaning chimney is very, very common, but in a way, it's rare, too. I think a C grade is probably the way to go because it's still leaning a little bit. And they never, ever answer the phone—you can never get back to them. The experience was neutral—I wouldn't bother with them anymore, I don't think. It cost me $8,000. I could've had the chimney taken down and rebuilt. I didn't want to go that route. It's a Victorian house, and it's a tall chimney—the chimney is twisted a little bit and two sides are parallel, one side isn't. I never got them to call me back at all. The salesman would take a while to get back to me, and he was a nice fellow, but he only seemed to be interested in coming out, getting the thing signed, getting the guys here, and getting the check. I very rarely give anybody a negative grade, so I’d rate them right down the middle.”

“They were on time. They were easy to work with. They not only installed a new fireplace, but they told me where to buy one and they got me a discount with the manufacturer that they have a tie up with - all of which was great. I don't remember any issues. They did have a charge just to come out and see what the issue was - like a service charge just to come out and give us an estimate of what the issue was. Basically, the issue was nothing could be done and we needed to replace the fireplace all together. I did feel like they could've applied some of that money toward the next job which was then coming in and installing the new fireplace, which they didn't do. They were on the pricier side. That's the only issue. I would give them a B overall.”

It still has a slight bend in it, but nevertheless, we're able to use it and we didn't have to have it torn down. B. Nothing went wrong, again, it was just that I thought that the chimney would be straight, be a little bit straighter. Based on the analysis that they gave me, they said they could get it straight, but once they got in there, they saw that, well there was a little bit more structure damage than realized and they got it as straight as they could.”

“Anglin’s did a great job. My chimney was not square, so they had to do some unique work on it, and it looks wonderful. The technicians were super. We’re very pleased with what they did.”

“It was a positive experience. It was our only option, really. They were fast. I can't think of a way that they could improve. They did the chimney and walkway. I would give them a B+.”

“My chimney was leaning toward my home, so Anglin’s went in to raise it and straighten it up. It was absolutely a positive experience. I have no problems—everything's good. They did a very good job. I would give them an A.”

“They really did do a good job. The chimney cracked right at the roofline and started leaning, and then it was leaning more and more. Everything's straight as an arrow now, and we haven't had any problems since. They were professional and quick—they didn't tarry. They had enough help, so they got out there and got it done. We maybe should have had that done a lot earlier, but it was expensive. They took care of the problem, and that's what we needed done. We would give them an A+.”

“Anglin’s repaired our fireplace, and it was fantastic. They were really nice and professional. They had to replace the mortar and bricks, and they even did a little bit extra and shaved the bricks down so they would fit well where the fireplace curves. We used the fireplace all winter, and it hadn’t been working for years. They are definitely an A.”
