Dealing with Sealers

Properly installed asphalt driveways, though they can last for decades, need to be resealed periodically to keep the weather-related wear at bay. Sealing your driveway is recommended about one year after installation and every two to three years thereafter. Do not seal your driveway every year. Sealers are coatings, like paint, and if too much is applied it will begin to crack and peel. Hold off on resealing until the old coat looks a bit threadbare and you can see the color of the rock beneath the sealer.
