He failed to perform important checks he marked as completed, including: 1. refrigerant (freon) levels 2. washing the unit, 3. checking filters. He said the filters needed to be replaced. Since I had replaced the filters that morning before he came, I was suspicious of the quality of his work. --- I had challenged the (lying) tech when he told me the refrigerant levels were OK, since one unit almost always needed freon at its annual check-up (they were both over 25 years old). He insisted the refrigernat level was OK. --- Besides, he said, he didn't have R-22 refrigerant to add if it was needed. I told him they didn't have R-22. Both systems had been upgraded to a newer refrigerant, 407-C.  (It was written in 1 inch tall lettering on the power boxes). He said there was no such thing as 407-C, that he had never heard of it. I told him to Google it, which he did. He found out it was a common upgrade that he knew nothing about. --- He insisted he had to go. I paid him, and he left. After he left, I was so suspicious that I checked the uniits. Neither unit had been washed. I called and left messages with the service coordinator. Management did not return calls. After multiple calls, when I finally did get hold of them, they defended him saying he had done the work. I insisted they send out a different tech. --- That 2nd tech found both units were low on refrigerant, and the washing had not been done on either one. In summary, The 1st tech had lied about the work he did. Managment did not return calls, defended his lying about the work, and was reluctant to correct it. Horrible service all around.  --- Note: Another reason I was suspicious of his work: If he had washed the units, he would have had to turn off the power, and he would have seen the 407-C note written in large lettering on the power boxes. Impossible to miss if he had done the work. --- In fact, one unit was leaking so badly it had to be replaced a couple months later. is great. They are quick to resolve issues with my AC, most recently a total and complete AC replacement.  This job costed near $16,000 and Stan's guys had it up and in the attic, all new ducting, and an outside unit installed in about seven hours. The only reason I wouldn't give them five stars, is a small hiccup caused by a hardware issue.  I don't blame Stan's for the hardware issue that they resolved in 48 hours. I wasn't a huge fan of being asked for payment when my AC wasn't working. I called the sales representative to kindly speak about the hardware issue, and he skips over my concern and starts talking money... well, that was a downer.  Overall result, very expensive job, house seems cooler than it has ever been, work crews and follow up technicians were great. Weeks of my requests for insurance or reimbursement have been ignored. I had to cut a hole in my ceiling myself on 9/13/25 to prevent mold and have already spent over a thousand dollars on inspections and property damage, with total damages in the thousands.\n\nThe HVAC unit still isn’t fully fixed, and I’m left to handle the property damage myself - including mold. As a Gold Plan member, I should be reimbursed directly—not forced to go through my builder, as they suggested. This is untimely, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Stan's came recommended. At first they seemed great. I spent THOUSANDS of dollars with them. Having them remove my septic system and install lines to the city plumbing. I was a maintenance director for Target, so I am not unfair in my expectations for service and I have had licenses in both fields so know the challenges.\nThey just collected 1100.00 for jetting my drain lines again. They had done so right after the septic service 4 years ago (with camera work) so the condition of the lines was known and there was no \"build up\" concern at either event. Now 4 months after cleaning and with just one person in the house, the tech out yesterday claims the lines are too clogged and will need new lines run. Stuck me for 189 dollars, didn't clear the line and left. Clearly they think I have free cash to just hand over. And if their jetter work is so crappy that it can't clean pipes (as the tech also indicated that jetting now will not work) why was this not a discussion after they jetted it. I called and asked to speak to someone about this, but no one has contacted me.
