We received drawings of what the completed project was to be.\nHowever, they were only half accurate.  The stairs ended up being exactly what we envisioned.\nThe porch was a nightmare.  The sections between the columns was mismeasured and too short\nfor the space.  Jose had to place blocks at the top and bottom to connect them to the columns.\n\nI made a horrible mistake.  When I was asked about the first section installation, it seemed to be\nokay so they proceeded.  It was not measured. I only gave it a visual inspection.  By the time \nI realized there was over a five inch gap between the column and the last spindle for each section, \nI knew it would never pass code.  And the stress began.\n\nAt that point, a retro fit had to be created.  Shawn built a wrap box around each column to\ndecrease the gap.  It did pass code by the Cherokee inspector.\n\nThis project has been a horribly stressful experience.  Not only did the company not respond on the financial \nside, but it was the company not backing up their mistake.  What reputable company does not honor their word?\n\n#1 This mismeasurement was not our fault.  I talked with our sales rep and the site manager to\nno avail.  The only way we could have the porch completed was to pay another $2,425.00 for materials \nand labor.\n\n#2 That was not the end of it because we needed to have the columns with the new boxes caulked and\n     painted to make it look like a completed project. The crew also repaired some damages to the porch\n     from the staircase removal.  Add another $1,200 for that part.  \n\n#3 Our original cost with labor and materials was $27,889. I'm partly to blame for this as I wanted the final payment to go on the financing they helped setup but due to the project taking longer the purchase date deadline had ended before the work was done.  The PM was somewhat communicative during the process.  A lot of the times he would tell me what work was going to be done that day after the crew had already done most of it.  There was also a change I wanted done and was willing to pay more before the project started and materials were ever delivered I was told to wait until later to discuss it and now that seems it will never get done.
