- Company History: Arbor-Nomics Tree Service traces its roots back to 1980. Barry Smith, the company owner, holds a forestry degree from the University of Kentucky. Barry is a hands-on owner, and he meets with the majority of clients himself.

"It was good; they did a good job. I remember they removed a tree and then trimmed the branches off of another tree. The tree that they just trimmed the branches on is doing really well. And they came out when they said they would, which is really tough right now. So, I mean, I think they definitely met my expectations, and I think they did a really good job. "Arbor-Nomics Tree Service did some work for me. I didn't hire them for a big project or anything, but what they did do was fine. When I bought my home, there was a Golden Raintree already planted, and over the years it grew bigger and bigger, so I had them trim some limbs off it to get it away from clogging up the gutter. I didn't want it actually all the way cut down, just trimmed to improve. Everything is working out OK. They were very nice, and they worked hard. I have no complaints. They did clean up."
"Arbor-Nomics removed a tree. The people who took our tree down were very professional, and actually, I think I went with them because they just seemed like they really knew what they were doing. It was a very tight space, and I had one of those Bradford pears, and it was cracked in the middle; I was really glad that I got it down when I did, because think right after that, there was all this rain. It was right about this time last year. Yeah, it was a lot of rain last year. We had a leaking roof, so I do remember very vividly."
"I thought they did an excellent job; they turned up when they were supposed to, they cleaned up after themselves, and they did exactly what was expected. We have these Dora Pines, which were huge, and they were overlooking the house, so they came out and chopped them back. We also have Arbor-Nomics for landscaper uses. They do the fertilization, so they come a couple of times a year."
"I used Arbor-Nomics for tree service, and the last thing that they did was cut down a tree that was leaning; we were afraid with all the wind storms that we had and with all the wet ground, the next time it might fall over and actually hit the house, so I had them come out and assess it. I was correct in my assumption to cut down the tree, and then they actually came back to do the work. I was satisfied with the quality of work they did. No issues with cleanup or anything like that. Actually, they did it when I wasn't even home; they said I didn't need to be here, but when I got home, obviously, I noticed the tree was gone, but I was relatively surprised there was hardly any debris at all."

"Arbor-Nomics did a tree service for me last year. They did a really good job. I also have a regular contract with them to do my yard stuff, so they come out five times a year to spray my yard to keep all the weeds down. They show up on time and they do a good job. They had the workers themselves, as well as the supervisor lady, and she stayed the whole time, making sure they cut everything. I think she was a certified arborist because she would direct them the whole time, and they seemed used to that because they gave her a good bit of respect."
"I thought Arbor-Nomics were fine; they did a good job. They performed a removal of one tree, and then they did trimming of two other trees. The cleanup was great; they actually removed all the branches and things that fell. The next day, or maybe it was a few days, they came back and had to grind the stump of the tree we removed. They were very professional and knowledgeable, because we did not know a lot about the trees, we just knew we needed them trimmed. They were there to tell us the kind of tree and how it grows and all that kind of stuff."

"We've used them twice, and I would never use anybody else. Once the guy removed a tree entirely that somebody else had ruined. And last time he came over, he took some branches off and took down some. They were live, but they were running into our house. He took down some dead branches as well. But the crew has always been very friendly and helpful, and the thing I appreciated the most is that he never used spikes. He climbs trees with ropes, so the tree is never damaged by what they're doing. This last tree they had to take down—the previous guy used spikes and killed the tree; so, they are the good people."
"I had them out twice. They removed a top of a tree that was hanging over a neighbor's house. I had them remove a small tree in the yard, and then I've had them limb up all of my trees on my property to 40 feet, so there are no branches below 40 feet. They did a great job on all of it. They're excellent. You can't even tell they've been there, except that the tree's gone. They blow everything; there aren't holes in the ground or dropped branches or trees. I've actually recommended them to quite a few people. They do a really great job. I refer them all the time."

"They were accurate and extremely helpful—they helped me with other things that are not necessarily on their list. I struggled with an injury, and they helped me with a couple of things around the house that needed to be done that I didn't realize needed to be done. I had some trees that I had pulled up that needed to get to the front of the yard so the folks could pick it up, but I couldn't do it. So they came out and did it for me. They did a great job on my Japanese Maple and made my tree look like a tree again. They made my front yard look so much better, and they gave me some recommendations on other plants as well."

They trimmed some limbs, and they cut down some trees and cut them up in pile-wood lengths and chipped up all the branches and stuff and left me the chips. They had come out earlier and looked at all the trees and told us what needed to be done—what trees were safe, what trees needed work. And then we hired them to come back and do the work."

"I've been with Arbor-Nomics since I saw them in Home Reports—five to eight years ago—and they're still doing work for me out in the yard. They're very, very good. If they say they're going to be here Tuesday morning at eight o' clock or ten o' clock, and they're running late or got tied up on another job, they'll call. But they are very dependable, and that's what I look for. Dependability is very important to me. They show up when they say they're going to be here. Arbor-Nomics has always done that. They're very, very good about that. They have reasonable prices and very friendly people to deal with, so I don't have any complaints at all."
