Painting: An Overview
Painting a home is a large undertaking. A proper job requires a lot of preparation and some cooperative weather conditions, whether the painting occurs indoors or out. Ideally, a high-quality, professional paint job can last anywhere from six to ten years on interior spaces and from four to seven years on exterior surfaces. Paint wear on the exterior, however, can be largely affected by regional climate and the proximity and placement of outdoor features such as trees, shrubs, and sprinkler paths. Interior paint jobs can suffer wear and tear in highly trafficked areas of the home and in rooms where there are fireplaces that operate heavily in winter months.
