They've done chimney inspections, and they put in a ventilation door at the bottom of my furnace chimney. No cleaning necessary. I didn't know there wasn't a door installed from the original construction of the house, the flue, for the furnace, so they put one of those in. They did a good job on that. They were great. No issues at all—great guys. Things were fine on the administrative side ; I haven't dealt with them that much. My oil company recommended them. Nobody's ever perfect—nobody gets an A+—so I'd say an A.
They didn't do any extra work. Everything was OK, very good. They would get the best grade.
Eurosweep was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He really was able to explain stuff to me in layman's terms, which was very helpful. They just did the cleaning for me. The customer service was very good. I'd highly recommend them. I'll give them an A-.
They just did the chimney sweep. I don't really remember what I liked, because I haven't really thought about it since then, but I had no complaints. They recommended that I do fix some stuff, but I just haven't done it yet. I guess the work, I'm assuming, was excellent. I haven't had any problems with it. I haven't gotten the follow-up with what they suggested, so I don't have anything further to compare it to. They basically just cleaned the chimney, so I have no problem with that. I would say A-.
I liked a couple of things about Eurosweep. They did a thorough job. Not only did they do the flue, check the downstairs, and check the flue of the fireplace I don't even use and haven't used for years, but they also cleaned the entire fireplace. They also cleaned the fireplace screen for us. They were greatly efficient. They cleaned up. There wasn't a mark anywhere. They went above and beyond and cleaned the inside of the fireplace and the screen, which I wasn't expecting. No other chimney company I've used has done that. They were very easy to schedule with, and they came out on my convenience and my schedule. They gave me a specific time frame, so it wasn't like a time frame between eight and two. It was, 'We'll be there between 8 and 8:30,' and they called to confirm. They were on time. It was great. I would definitely tell a friend or neighbor that I had a great experience. They deserve an A+.
Eurosweep came and was on scene the whole time, three times. I had questions for him about work I'm thinking of doing in the home—just general questions that he is very expert on. He was knowledgeable and helpful and didn't try to sell me anything. I couldn't say more about him. He was just sweeping my chimney and my stainless steel flue for my furnace above my fireplace. Then while he was here, he advised me on things I'd need in terms of fireplace repair and maintenance and potential additional services, like putting a space heater in my basement beside my fireplace. Flues could handle the excess volume. He knew what he was talking about. I'd give them an A+. I'm not an easy grader.
They did chimney cleaning for us. They also did the repointing of our chimney and a lining and a cap. They're very friendly and did a nice cleanup job. They do a dirty job, but then they leave it all nice and clean, so very professional, so I like that. The billing side is good. I think last time they had an onsite credit card swipe, so that was really convenient. They were really good, so A+.
Actually, I recommended them to somebody else. The guys that I dealt with—actually, I believe it's the guy who started the business—is very knowledgeable, very up front about everything. No nonsense. He answers any questions you have, and as far as dealing with somebody who thinks like that, it was really a great experience for me. I learned something. He will talk to you at your level of understanding about things because it's complicated, especially now with heat and all of that. And I had an issue. We bought a house, had a fireplace, and I had them come to look at the chimney, and he said, 'You know, you really shouldn't be using that chimney, because it's got a lot of creosote,' so he recommended using those logs that actually help get rid of the creosote. They sort of deal with creosote. Maybe it was two years ago, so this is like 15 years later, I called them up again because I wanted to start using the fireplace and I was concerned about what damage the creosote had done. I was talking to him about getting one of those liners for the chimney. He came and said, 'No, you don't need a liner. You don't need a liner. It's fine. Everything's great.' Someone else might say, 'Oh you need a liner, you know.' But he didn't get that way, and I appreciate the honesty. I actually like to call the guy up and just talk to him. His name is Charles. I would say pretty much A+. If you have any chimney problems, chimney questions, I would recommend him.
Actually, they put in the stainless steel flue. They put that in for me, and then just my annual cleanings; that's about it. Everything went fine. I've used them now for as long as he's been in business. I think it's about 20 years. He's been doing the work for about 20 years for me. I make an annual appointment, he comes, cleans the chimney, and takes it from there, and I'm good for the next season. I'd give them an A+ because if I didn't have him keep coming back, then I wouldn't give him a good grade.
We lived in the house for about five years, and we never had used the chimney or had it inspected. They came out, inspected our chimney, put a door on the outside on the bottom on the back, and put a cap on the top. They cleaned it as well. It went great. They scheduled it very quickly. The work got done, and we used the fireplace all winter with no issues, and it works great. I think my wife asked a neighbor for a recommendation. Once they called, they came out really quickly to take a look at it and then came out, gave us an estimate really quickly, and then once we gave them the go-ahead, they did the work really quickly. I'd go A+. No problems at all.
